The More Abundant Life

God 513 – When did the Shepherds and the Wise Men Meet? God is perfect. Jesus Christ is perfect. So God's Word must be perfect. God cannot contradict himself. When reading the Bible, we need to use all the keys required to let the word of God interpret itself. We need to be like detectives following the clues. Two things, amongst others, that I watch for are tradition versus truth, and I never trust pictures. We need to look at the words closely. The Birth of Jesus Luke 2:1 – 21 “And it came to pass in those days, that there went out a decree from Caesar Augustus, that all the world...

We're going to look at the first 17 years of Paul's life, after his conversion on the road to Damascus. Acts 9:22 – 31 “But Saul increased the more in strength, and confounded the Jews which dwelt at Damascus, proving that this is very Christ. 23 And after that many days were fulfilled, the Jews took counsel to kill him: 24 But their laying await was known of Saul. And they watched the gates day and night to kill him. 25...

God 511 – Paul's Prize in Literature How do we know anything about the Apostle Paul? It's through the God-breathed Scriptures—the Believer's Prize in Literature. The Church Epistles are the most fantastic literature ever written because they teach all the truth we need to live more abundantly, be successful, and experience personal victories. KJV Romans 1:1 Paul, a servant of Jesus Christ, called to be an apostle, separated unto the gospel of God, 2 (Which he had promised afore by his prophets in the holy scriptures,) 3 Concerning his Son Jesus Christ our Lord, which was made of the seed...

God 510 – Paul of The Bible This is the start of a series I'm doing on Paul of the Bible. The second most important person written about in the Bible is the Apostle Paul. Second only to Jesus Christ, God's only begotten Son. Like any historical figure, he has different parts of his life. He had an early influence, learning and changing throughout his life. We are going to look at Paul's life in the Bible. The Bible is the only accurate recording of Paul's life. In Acts, Chapters 6 and 7, Stephen delivers a comprehensive Old Testament history lesson. It ends up in Chapter 7:51-60. Acts 7:51...

God 509 – How We Got The Bible 2 Timothy 3:16 “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:” All scripture is for profit; This must be something of immense value. We want to profit from the “all scripture.” “given by inspiration of God” is one word in Greek: Theopneustos – Theo, meaning God, and Pneustos, meaning breathed, or God Breathed—a figure of speech.  John 4:24 “God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.” God is Spirit. 2...

God 507 – The Greatest Work Have you ever thought about what the greatest work you can do is? What is the most crucial task that you have to do in knowing God's will, which is the greatest work you can do? It is to study and search the scriptures to see what they say, then you can live that way Matthew 22:29 “Jesus answered and said unto them, Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God.” We need to know what the Scriptures say and know the power of God to live extraordinary lives today. You'll see this as the context as we read this together. 2 Corinthians 10:2 “But I...

God 504 – Thinking and The Renewed Mind, Keeping your Mind on God's Word The start and the Finish of the renewed mind is to watch what you're thinking. To develop good habits by continually thinking about them from The Word. Eliminate negative and unproductive habits, and reconsider your perspective on the concepts and precepts of God's Word. A simple way to do this is to establish a daily regimen of reading God's Word and praying for the things you would like to see happen in your life and in the lives of others. I want to point out some keys, but it goes without saying that there are many...

228 – Salvation for All

By

Steve Jaynes

God bless you all in the mighty and Powerful name of Our Risen Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. May God bless you all abundantly. The following are my notes for the latest podcast show entitled 'Salvation for All.' I have all the scriptures written out so it will be easy for you to follow along.

1Timothy 2:4 Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.”

This is what I think about most of the time and this is what I want to do. I start every day with prayer, reading God's Word, studying the Bible, and thinking about put teachings together. I teach and run Fellowships on Sunday mornings and Tuesday nights. Plus some special Biblical Study Teaching. I have a podcast show, email newsletters and I post on Facebook. All to help people get born again and come to an accurate knowledge of God's Word.

Acts 2:37 – 39 “Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do? 38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. 39 For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.”

Who is salvation for? Well, it's for everybody.

Acts 2:46 & 47 “And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart, 47 Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.”

The word favour sometimes is translated as grace in God's Word. The Greek word for favor and grace is the same Greek word. It says here that we share favor with everybody. We share what God makes available for us with everybody and the Lord adds to the church daily such as should be saved. Now we know our job and we know the Lord does his' Job.

1 Corinthians 3:4 – 9 “For while one saith, I am of Paul; and another, I am of Apollos; are ye not carnal? 5 Who then is Paul, and who is Apollos, but ministers by whom ye believed, even as the Lord gave to every man? 6 I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase. 7 So then neither is he that planteth any thing, neither he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase. 8 Now he that planteth and he that watereth are one: and every man shall receive his own reward according to his own labour. 9 For we are labourers together with God: ye are God's husbandry, ye are God's building.”

God does increase. We do the watering and planting. We are laborers and workers together with God.

2 Corinthians 5:14 – 6:2 “For the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that if one died for all, then were all dead: 15 And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again. 16 Wherefore henceforth know we no man after the flesh: yea, though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now henceforth know we him no more. 17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. 18 And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation; 19 To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation. 20 Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God. 21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him. 6:1 We then, as workers together with him, beseech you also that ye receive not the grace of God in vain. 2 (For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.)”

We got the word of reconciliation, we have the ministry of reconciliation. We are workers together with God. We're even called the ambassadors for Christ. And salvation is available to everybody and today is the time to do it.

Ephesians 2:8 10 “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9 Not of works, lest any man should boast. 10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.”

What do you think the good works are? Maybe being a laborer together with God. God can work with us and teach us individually what it is that we can do. What we can share as we share favor with all.

Until the next time we get together, may God bless you abundantly.
