God 535 – Think Like You Are Righteous You can follow along with the Scriptures and my notes as I read them. Romans 8:4 – 17 ”That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh [flesh and carnal, mean the same thing], but after the Spirit. 5 For they that are after the flesh do mind [think] the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit [think] the things of the Spirit. 6 For to be carnally [flesh and carnal, mean the same thing] minded [thinking] is death; but to be spiritually minded [thinking] is life and peace. 7 Because the carnal...

God 534 – Believing Versus Worry, Doubt, and Fear You can follow along with the Scriptures and my notes as I read them. I've been thinking about believing versus worrying, doubting, and fearing. We know how important it is for us to believe and trust God, but one thing that tries to destroy that is fear. We're going to learn how to defeat fear. Mark 11:22 “And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God.” A simple translation is to believe and trust God. Mark 11:23 & 24 “For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast...

God 532 – I Would Not Have You Ignorant You can follow along with the Scriptures and my notes as I read them. I've been reading a book by Tom Kelso. “I would not have you ignorant.” At the Clergy and Elder meeting a couple of weeks ago, we were asked to do a teaching on, "I would not have you ignorant. I redid the teaching at our fellowship on Sunday. This is the podcast from that teaching. The book is worth reading and can be purchased on Amazon.com under his name and the book title. I recommend the book highly. 1 Thessalonians 4:13 – 18 “But I would not have you to be ignorant,...

God 531 – The Mercy of God You can follow along with the Scriptures and my notes as I read them. Righteousness, grace, and mercy are the foundations of the renewed mind. This is the starting point for a renewed mind: knowing that you're righteous, knowing that it comes by grace, and remembering that God is merciful. Grace is divine favor. Something given to you that you didn't have to work for. It's a gift from God to you, a favor from God. Here you go, it is yours Mercy is withholding judgment of something that you have done. It is God who forgives you, and you have mercy. God's mercy...

This is the starting point to the renewed mind, knowing that you're righteous, knowing that it comes by grace, and remembering that God is merciful. Romans 3:21 – 21 “But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets; 22 Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no...

God 528 – Be Strong and Thankful You can follow along with the Scriptures and my notes as I read them. I was invited to teach at the international Zoom Fellowship that was run by the Ministries in Venezuela. I was very excited to teach at that Fellowship, but I was blown away by all the fellowships in South and Central America that zoomed in on the Fellowship, and I was very blessed to teach. Then, on Sunday at my local Fellowship, I taught the same teaching, and here it is as a podcast. Joshua 1:1 & 2 “Now after the death of Moses the servant of the LORD it came to pass, that the...

533 – Spiritual Matters
You can follow along with the Scriptures and my notes as I read them.
Looking at the last words that Jesus Christ spoke before he was taken up.
Mark 16:15 – 20 “And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. 16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. 17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; 18 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. 19 So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God. 20 And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen.”
Acts 1:4 – 8 “And, being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith he, ye have heard of me. 5 For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence. 6 When they therefore were come together, they asked of him, saying, Lord, wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel? 7 And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power. 8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.”
Then Paul says more about spiritual matters, following up on what Jesus Christ said.
1 Corinthians 12:1, 4 – 6 & 7 “Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I would not have you ignorant.
4 Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. 5 And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord. 6 And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all.”
Here's a partial list of ways of serving. One, the ways in which you can serve, and the other, the manifestation, which is available, for the more abundant life.
1 Corinthians 12:28 And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues. 29 Are all apostles? are all prophets? are all teachers? are all workers of miracles? 30 Have all the gifts of healing? do all speak with tongues? do all interpret? 31 But covet earnestly the best gifts: and yet shew I unto you a more excellent way.
7 But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal.”
Here is the list of profits.
1 Corinthians 12:8 – 11 “For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit; 9 To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit; 10 To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues: 11 But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will.”
Verses in 1 Corinthians 12:12 through to verse 27 are about the One body of Christ. “For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ.”, 27 “Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular.”
Verses 28 through 21 show how our spirit works to serve through Manifestation and gift ministries, as well as other ways of serving.
1 Corinthians 14:32 “And the spirits of the prophets are subject to the prophets.”
In chapter 14, Paul explains the three manifestations dealing with the Believers as they gather together. God does not possess people. By the freedom of will, Believers gather together and decide to have manifestations to edify the other believers who are together. This is a decision of the Believers. The other manifestations are God's decision. There is no direction or Universal instruction needed. You just learn to hear from God.
Speaking in tongues is entirely under the believer's control. From when to start and when to stop. In interpretation, the believer's mind is involved. God teaches your spirit what is in you, the words you need to speak. And you say them both in speaking in tongues and the interpretation. This takes the believer, controlling their mind, to repeat what God has said, revealing it to you. The believer.
1 Corinthians 14:4 & 5 “He that speaketh in an unknown tongue edifieth himself; but he that prophesieth edifieth the church. 5 I would that ye all spake with tongues, but rather that ye prophesied: for greater is he that prophesieth than he that speaketh with tongues, except he interpret, that the church may receive edifying.”
This takes controlling your mind.
1 Corinthians 14:6 – 15 “Now, brethren, if I come unto you speaking with tongues, what shall I profit you, except I shall speak to you either by revelation, or by knowledge, or by prophesying, or by doctrine? 7 And even things without life giving sound, whether pipe or harp, except they give a distinction in the sounds, how shall it be known what is piped or harped? 8 For if the trumpet give an uncertain sound, who shall prepare himself to the battle? 9 So likewise ye, except ye utter by the tongue words easy to be understood, how shall it be known what is spoken? for ye shall speak into the air. 10 There are, it may be, so many kinds of voices in the world, and none of them is without signification. 11 Therefore if I know not the meaning of the voice, I shall be unto him that speaketh a barbarian, and he that speaketh shall be a barbarian unto me. 12 Even so ye, forasmuch as ye are zealous of spiritual gifts, seek that ye may excel to the edifying of the church. 13 Wherefore let him that speaketh in an unknown tongue pray that he may interpret. 14 For if I pray in an unknown tongue, my spirit prayeth, but my understanding is unfruitful. 15 What is it then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will pray with the understanding also: I will sing with the spirit, and I will sing with the understanding also.”
Romans 8:26 – 28 “Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. 27 And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God. 28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to purpose.”
1 Corinthians 14:16 – 22 “Else when thou shalt bless with the spirit, how shall he that occupieth the room of the unlearned say Amen at thy giving of thanks, seeing he understandeth not what thou sayest? 17 For thou verily givest thanks well, but the other is not edified. 18 I thank my God, I speak with tongues more than ye all: 19 Yet in the church I had rather speak five words with my understanding, that by my voice I might teach others also, than ten thousand words in an unknown tongue. 20 Brethren, be not children in understanding: howbeit in malice be ye children, but in understanding be men. 21 In the law it is written, With men of other tongues and other lips will I speak unto this people; and yet for all that will they not hear me, saith the Lord. 22 Wherefore tongues are for a sign, not to them that believe, but to them that believe not: but prophesying serveth not for them that believe not, but for them which believe.”
The rest of 1st Corinthians chapter 14 is all about what verse 40 says.
1 Corinthians 14:40 Let all things be done decently and in order.
May God Bless you Abundantly
