God 490 – Romans Chapters One – The Apostle Paul's Goals Below are written all the Scriptures, making it easy for you to follow along with on your devices. Romans 1:1 “Paul, a servant of Jesus Christ, called to be an apostle, separated unto the gospel of God,” Servant is the word "doulos" in Greek. In the lands and Times of the Bible, a servant could choose by his free will to continue to work for his master after 7 years as a servant. He could feel like his master was a good Master who cared for him very well, and all his needs were met. So he would decide to continue with the master....

After the persecution that arose about Stephen, and as the Believers were scattered abroad from Jerusalem, the Word started to live in the surrounding areas. The apostles were teaching God's Word. The following Scriptures record the Gentiles first receiving the Word of God and believing and receiving spirit. I'm going to read these two chapters together and point out a few things as I go through them. Acts 10:1 – 48 “There was a certain man in...

God 488 – Acts Chapters 9 – Persecutions to Victory Below are all the Scriptures, making it easy to follow on your devices. After the original day of Pentecost, the apostles utilized tremendous power. Signs, Miracles, and wonders were being done, and many people were added to the church daily—first 5,000, then 3,000 as the Lord added to the church daily, and now, here in chapter 5, many more were being added. The power of God was in great force and was seen in the early part of the Christian church. Great respect came upon all who saw it and were a part of it. After the days immediately...

God 486 – Acts Chapters 3 & 4 Below are written all the Scriptures and some of my notes, making it easy for you to follow along with the lesson right from your devices. Ten days after the Ascension comes the day of Pentecost, the day on the Christian calendar when the Holy Spirit was first made available. After all the accomplished works of Jesus Christ, it is the biggest day in the Christian calendar. As we think about that and get ready to celebrate that wonderful day, I'm doing a small series on what happened after it was first available to be born again. Acts 3:1 – 26 “Now Peter...

God 485 – 40 Days to the Ascension Below are written all the Scriptures and some of my notes, making it easy for you to follow along with the lesson right from your devices. After Jesus Christ's resurrection, he was on Earth for 40 days until the Ascension, when he was gathered up to be on God's right-hand side. During those 40 days, he instructed his Apostles and disciples on what they were to do next. In this podcast, we'll look at that in detail. Matthew 28:16 “Then the eleven disciples went away into Galilee, into a mountain where Jesus had appointed them.” By Jesus's instructions to...

God 484 – The Ministry of Jesus Christ Below are written all the Scriptures and some of my notes, making it easy for you to follow along with the lesson right from your devices. To teach everything involved in Jesus Christ's ministry would take many hours, but here's a teaching on the part of Jesus Christ's Ministry that we can see from the Bible. John 8:28b & 29 “I do nothing of myself; but as my Father hath taught me, I speak these things. 29 And he that sent me is with me: the Father hath not left me alone; for I do always those things that please him.” His father, God, taught...

God 483 – The Beginnings of Jesus Christ Ministry Below are written all the Scriptures and some of my notes, making it easy for you to follow along with the lesson right from your devices. In God's Word, there are many beginnings to the life of Jesus Christ. There are many parts of beginning His life, just like every other human being. Sometimes, we might go to college or some other endeavor. I'm thinking about what the beginning of your college career is. Is it the day you start school and take your first class? Yes, that is, but what about the preparation? When you apply, when you get...

God 482 – Faithful What does it mean to be faithful? All of us endeavoring to do our best for God want to be faithful. To understand how to be faithful, let's look at what it is to be faithful today. 1 Corinthians 4:1 & 2 “Let a man so account of us, as of the ministers of Christ, and stewards of the mysteries of God. 2 Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful.” What does it mean to be faithful? Let's look at it closely. Being faithful does not mean being perfect because nobody can be perfect. Only one person ever was perfect, and that was our Lord and...

491 – Paul the Servant of Jesus Christ
Below are written all the Scriptures, making it easy for you to follow along with on your devices.
In our last podcast episode, number 490, we learned that Paul the Apostle, the servant of our Lord Jesus Christ, longed to see the Saints in Rome. He wanted to impart some spiritual gifts so that they may be established. We're continuing in Romans chapter 1 verse 20
Romans 1:20 “For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:”
There's no excuse because what God created in the beginning in the first three chapters of Genesis laid the foundation of what was to come throughout the Bible that mankind just seeing what God has done just by looking around made it so that they was no excuse not to want to know about God but there's a reason.
2 Corinthians 4:3 – 6 “But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: 4 In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them. 5 For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus' sake. 6 For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.”
The God of this world, who is the devil, has blinded the minds of those who don't know. But we who do know can show them the light of Jesus Christ.
Colossians 1:13 – 18 “Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: 14 In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins: 15 Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature: 16 For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: 17 And he is before all things, and by him all things consist. 18 And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.”
Romans 1:21-25 “Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. 22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, 23 And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things. 24 Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves: 25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.”
A lie is the LIE that you don't need God, you can do it by yourself.
Genesis 3:4 & 5 “And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: 5 For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.”
This is still the LIE that's being told today. You don't need anyone else; you can do it by yourself, be true to yourself, and you don't need God. You're a God to yourself; the same lies are being told today. The truth is, we need God.
Romans 1:25 – 28 “Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen. 26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: 27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet. 28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;”
The words used in the following few verses — natural, against nature, back and forth —refer to the way God set things up in the beginning. To be the natural way is the way that God set it up.
Genesis 1:27 – 31 “So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. 28 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth. 29 And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat. 30 And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to every thing that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is life, I have given every green herb for meat: and it was so. 31 And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day.”
God saw that it was very good, not just good but very good. Let's examine what God thinks of humanity, specifically the way He created male and female to be.
Isaiah 43:7 “Even every one that is called by my name: for I have created him for my glory, I have formed him; yea, I have made him.”
God created, made, and formed man to be for his glory.
Psalm 139:14 – 15, 17 &18 “I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well. 15 My substance was not hid from thee, when I was made in secret, and curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth. 17 How precious also are thy thoughts unto me, O God! how great is the sum of them! 18 If I should count them, they are more in number than the sand: when I awake, I am still with thee.”
We were fearfully and wonderfully made. From the dust of the ground, the lowest parts of the earth. All the ways that God Made You So Wonderful couldn't even be counted in the sands, that's how wonderfully God sees you. That's how we should see each other, and of course, ourselves.
Romans 1:29 – 32 “Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers, 30 Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, 31 Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful: 32 Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.”
Look at the list of terrible things, and some things are just little things, like gossiping, not being obedient to parents. But the conclusion is it's all worthy of death.
Romans 2:1 – 4 “Therefore thou art inexcusable, O man, whosoever thou art that judgest: for wherein thou judgest another, thou condemnest thyself; for thou that judgest doest the same things. 2 But we are sure that the judgment of God is according to truth against them which commit such things. 3 And thinkest thou this, O man, that judgest them which do such things, and doest the same, that thou shalt escape the judgment of God? 4 Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance?”
The conclusion is that we should not judge one another because none of us is perfect. We should not be against anyone, but be 100% for what God and His Word declare.
Romans 2:9 – 11 “tribulation and anguish, upon every soul of man that doeth evil, of the Jew first, and also of the Gentile; 10 But glory, honour, and peace, to every man that worketh good, to the Jew first, and also to the Gentile: 11 For there is no respect of persons with God.”
"Every man that work is good" endeavors to do what it says in God's Word. The Book of Romans will show this in great detail.
Romans 2:14 & 15 “For when the Gentiles, which have not the law, do by nature the things contained in the law, these, having not the law, are a law unto themselves: 15 Which shew the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and their thoughts the mean while accusing or else excusing one another;)”
Romans 3:9-12 “What then? are we better than they? No, in no wise: for we have before proved both Jews and Gentiles, that they are all under sin; 10 As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: 11 There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God. 12 They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one.”
Romans 3:21 – 23 “But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets; 22 Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference: 23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;”
Until the next time we get together, may God bless you abundantly.
