God 522 – Reviewing of Paul's Writings pt 3 Steve Reads Ephesians While Paul was in prison, he wrote three Epistles: Ephesians, Philippians, and Colossians. All around 62 A.D. As I was putting together the teaching, I was looking for spiritual connections as I did before in the review of Paul's writings. The only thing I thought of doing was to read the whole chapter, pointing out a few things. Ephesians 1:1 – 23 “ Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, to the saints which are at Ephesus, and to the faithful in Christ Jesus: 2 Grace be to you, and peace, from God our...

God 521 – Reviewing of Paul's Writings pt 2 Can you imagine living in the first century Church? And you were at a fellowship, and someone came in with a letter from Paul. And read it to the group. That must have been an exciting time. Paul's letters, or Epistles, were circulated, meaning they were passed around to all the churches. Would it matter the order in which you read them? No, I don't think so. You would just have to use scripture buildup to add to each Epistle to get a more complete understanding of the subject. Like, today we're going to look at the spirit. 2 Timothy 3:16...

This week's podcast is “Paul on His Way to Jerusalem.” Acts 19:21 & 22 “ After these things were ended, Paul purposed in the spirit, when he had passed through Macedonia and Achaia, to go to Jerusalem, saying, After I have been there, I must also see Rome. 22 So he sent into Macedonia two of them that ministered unto him, Timotheus and Erastus; but he himself stayed in Asia for a season.” Paul purposed in his soul life, in his thinking, in his mind. God 514 – Don't Frustrate The Grace of God We're continuing along in our series on "Paul of the Bible." This week's teaching is entitled "Don't Frustrate The Grace of God. We need and have the grace of God in our lives. We know that others who are born again have the grace of God in their lives. We need to think of it that way. We all live in Grace. Acts 14:26 – 28 “And thence sailed to Antioch, from whence they had been recommended to the grace of God for the work which they fulfilled. 27 And when they were come, and had gathered the church together, they rehearsed all that God had done...

God 513 – When did the Shepherds and the Wise Men Meet? God is perfect. Jesus Christ is perfect. So God's Word must be perfect. God cannot contradict himself. When reading the Bible, we need to use all the keys required to let the word of God interpret itself. We need to be like detectives following the clues. Two things, amongst others, that I watch for are tradition versus truth, and I never trust pictures. We need to look at the words closely. The Birth of Jesus Luke 2:1 – 21 “And it came to pass in those days, that there went out a decree from Caesar Augustus, that all the world...

494 – Spiritually Minded with Jesus Christ
Below are all the Scriptures that demonstrate how to be spiritually minded with Jesus Christ.
Romans 8:1b “There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus,”
There is no condemnation to us who are born again of God's spirit, but we can be spiritually minded. That means we live with a new law or a new rule, a new way of looking at things, we look at things through spiritual eyes.
Romans 8:4 – 9 “That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. 5 For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. 6 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. 7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. 8 So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God. 9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.”
We need to learn how to walk in or with the spirit to be spiritually minded. We understand this by reading and searching the Scriptures.
Romans 8:10 – 17 “And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. 11 But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you. 12 Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh. 13 For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live. 14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. 15 For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. 16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God: 17 And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.”
A while ago, I taught a class and series on a topic that would help you understand spiritually mindedness. Part 5 of the class, "How to Read the Bible for Understanding and Power," is available on the online classes and teaching page of my website, Perfect Praise Prayer and Worship. I edited a part of the first session to play for you right now. Continuing listening. The entire series is available on the website, and a link to it is included in the show notes below.
Romans 8:26 – 39 “Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. 27 And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God. 28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. 29 For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren. 30 Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified. 31 What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us? 32 He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things? 33 Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God's elect? It is God that justifieth. 34 Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us. 35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? 36 As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. 37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. 38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, 39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
Colossians 1:27 “To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:”
John 10:10 “The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.”
Until we meet again, may God bless you abundantly.
