info_outlineA brutal sexual assault changed the life of Ailbhe Griffith forever. In this episode Ailbhe shares the story of the night she was attacked, the incredibly tough period following on from that night and how she suffered with PTSD and of how she had a need for healing and over the course of her search for a way to heal, she found the restorative justice process.
By using the restorative justice process, Ailbhe was able to meet her attacker, many years after the attack. She wasn't looking for an apology, she was looking to get her life back and to turn the person who had attacked her, from a monster into a man, a fragile human. She speaks of the importance of forgiveness and how important a part it had in her own healing and of how her life has changed in ways she could never have imagined. Ailbhe is an inspiring, strong and incredibly brave woman and a role model we can all look up to and learn from.
