Ep. 26: Price Transparency in healthcare with Dr. Jonathan Kaplan

My guest for this episode is Dr. Jonathan Kaplan, a board-certified plastic surgeon who works in San Francisco, and who created the Build My Bod platform, which is designed to give patients pricing information than was previously available.

Dr. Kaplan noticed that healthcare pricing information was difficult to find and difficult to comprehend.  In the few places he could find pricing online, it was  just averages and didn't include all the fees. He felt that shouldn't be the case, so he came up with the idea of Build My Bod, which is very comprehensive. We discuss why this may be a game-changer for both patients and physicians.

The problem will eventually be solved, and it will be solved by consumers, who will demand a lot more transparency.
