In this special episode of Movement Maker: The Podcast, Terri Broussard Williams interviews Angela Provost, a sugar cane farmer in Louisiana and changemaker whose story is a part of “Find Your Fire.” As Terri says, no movement moves alone.

Angie’s movement is amplified by Elora Turner, co-founder of Bhoomi, a sugar cane water company that collaborates with Provost Farm. Elora joins Terri and Angie for this conversation.

Terri reads a little from her book while Angie + Elora elaborate about the growing scarcity of Black farmers in Louisiana and how we have the power to change this alarming fact, create partnerships for change, and raise awareness around the need for more Black growers, Black sugar cane growers in particular, and to tell the world all about sugarcane and its underrated glory.

Provost Farm LLC is committed to supplying resources that promote equity and food security to marginalized communities. The farm was created in 2018 as an agriculture and advocacy center to preserve the ancestral legacies of South Louisiana’s Farmers of Color.
