New York's Loudest

Don’t use his government name in vain, ladies, but make sure to listen to the jokes and jokes and jokes begotten by our favorite street artist, Brooklynite, and deejay pal, Smurfo U Dirty. This is one of Mia’s close buds, so you’ll have to endure lots of co-trolling, but Danielle’s history in the grey market is the real dirt: her brownies made Smurfo pay, in stoned-ness. As a self employed artist, Smurfo has collaborated with brands such as Cheap Monday, Oak, Wataah, and creates custom art for private clients.

New York's Loudest

We love Stone Road prerolls—it's just science. Since first meeting Lex Corwin, founder of Stone Road, we knew he was doing more than offering your average preroll. Born and raised in NYC but with a passion for nature and cannabis farming, Lex is legit. The brand uses an innovative approach to loyalty, and you can download the Stone Road app to see what it's all about—or you can tune in for a preview.

Bouncing off of NYLP’s appearance on the Top Rank podcast on Red Bull Radio, Dan and Mia are continuing the conversation with the whip-smart and incredibly creative authors of Documenting the Nameplate, Marcel Rosa-Salas and Isabel Flower. We asked the team what they learned about weed since our last convo, and the results were very inspiring.

Here we chat with weed enthusiast and creative filmmaker/director Alejandra Araujo. She’s hosted the NYLP ladies in LA before, and is a collaborator with Mia on multiple visual projects. We chopped it up on the differences between the states we both live in and how cannabis is making waves out west.

Don’t take our word for it—listen to these dope women of color kicking ass in cannabis and creating something entirely new in West Hollywood. Lowell Cafe is now open, so be sure to make a reservation next time you’re in sunny L.A., maybe you’ll see Mia in the corner praying for an AntiDos.
