We would stay up all night for this episode re-watch! But it does come with some very curious general wondering-ments. Weren't cell phones pretty common-place by this point? Couldn't the fireman have disabled the alarm himself before bringing it back to Phoebe? Is there actually anybody that resorts to warm milk to help them sleep? Ross has all the friends up on the rooftop to watch a passing comet. When the comet is a no-show, the friends all head their own ways and are kept up all night for different reasons.
