info_outline #38: Let's Talk About It: Racism, Unpacking My White Privilege, and How I'm working Toward Real AllyshipThe Harmony Experiment Podcast
My friends, thank you for being here. I air this episode not to take up space centering myself and my story, but to be public and clear about where I stand and where this podcast stands. To hold myself accountable. As someone creating content and running an online business, I believe this is very important. I want everyone who comes to The Harmony Experiment to know what they’re coming to and what we’re working towards. I want everyone to feel safe here. info_outlineJust a few short years ago I met Sarah Buxbaum while I was an assistant and teacher at a dance studio in Agoura Hills. She came to the studio often and we would always get to chatting at the front desk. Around this time, Sarah had just overcome a major challenge in business and career, and was starting a business of her own. This would become what is now Celebrate with Sarah, a successful desert table catering and lodging experience business.
In this episode, we chat about the very beginning of her business, the challenges and achievements along the way, and what is next. We talk about going all in on your idea and taking steps even when you don't have a complete plan, as well as learning to enlist help and not trying to take on everything alone so that your business can actually grow. We also talk about Sarah's experience with celiac disease and what it's been like to maintain and grow her business even when she's had really difficult flare ups.
If you are at all interested in being an entrepreneur and building something of your own from the ground up, you're going to want to listen to this episode!
