Josh Martin is possibly best known for voicing Dragon Ball Z’s Majin Boo. He shares with us how he got started in anime and his particular pathway to Dragon Ball Z.

Chris Rager imparts his knowledge and gives advice on the skills needed in anime. He believes a solid foundation in improv gives artists the ability to react to situations well. We hear what he believes are the other essential tools for voicing anime characters.

From The Walking Dead to Dragon Ball Z, Jason Douglas has a credit list that traverses stage, screen and voice roles reaching back to the 1980s. We learn about how each of these differs in terms of delivery and we get his thoughts on vocal techniques and performance for anime.

Last to share their incredible knowledge is the wonderful Sonny Strait. His credits cover many genres over many years. He tells us about the crossover of video games and franchises of movies spinning out of anime series and how skilled voice actors need to be to make the switch across each.

Anime is a genre unlike any other. It is action-packed and full of adventure, from offbeat comedies to inspirational stories. This area of voiceover has a style and spirit that stands out and is unique, just like the phenomenal guests in this episode of The Voiceover Hour Podcast.
