info_outline Deb Minor came to Yates County through her education at Keuka College and has degrees in Biology and Nursing as well as a Master of Public Health from Walden University. She and her husband of thirty-nine years chose to make the Penn Yan area their home and raised their three, now adult, children there. In 1990, following an obstetrical nursing position at Geneva General Hospital and a nursing position at a private obstetrician and surgeon’s office, Deb began her employment with Yates County Public Health as a Maternal Child Health Nurse with responsibilities for home visitation to young families, immunization and lead clinic work, community education, and outreach for the numerous programs falling under the arena of Preventive Public Health Services. She found a love for population health improvement and chose to remain in the field of public health, advancing to the position of Supervisor, and then, in 2009, to her appointment as Director of Public Health. In late 2018, through a contract with Schuyler County, she assumed the responsibility of Director for both Schuyler and Yates County Departments of Health. Deb currently serves on the Keuka Housing Council’s Board of Directors, the Board of Directors for Penn Yan Manor and Clinton Crest, the Yates Transit Services Board, and the Board of Directors for Lifetime Care. She also serves on the Finger Lakes Health Community Advisory Council, the Finger Lakes Advisory Council for the Rochester Primary Care Network, and the Keuka College Nursing Advisory Board. |
