The set decorators do an excellent job of redressing the Atlantis set when the team finds one of its sister cities in The Tower. It was really fun seeing the set we’re all familiar with dressed up in a different way and with furniture all over the place. The guest stars in this episode were really top notch. Otho and Tavius were both excellent in their roles (though we’re really hoping the guy who plays Tavius is much nicer in real life). Ripple Effect brings back some dearly departed characters, but there are also shenanigans afoot. And we did not see that twist coming. Once we find out that the whole universe jumping was planned, we’re not sure it makes sense. It just seems to ask more questions than it answers. We love this episode. It’s a lot of fun, but there were some missed opportunities. Who would you have brought back on an SG1 team just for a little cameo? Why wasn’t the cast of Wormhole X-Treme one of the alternate SG1s? In Epiphany, John is trapped in a time dilation bubble where time is passing much faster for him. Can the team save him before he dies of old age? This episode is not among our favorites. The script seems a little clunky in parts and the characters are not making the best choices. And Rodney wastes so much time telling people he doesn’t have time to explain what’s happening because that would waste time. What’s with Teer’s visions of John? This whole storyline just opens up way more questions that we’re not sure we want answered. Don’t get us started on the ending. All those people...

We love this episode. It’s a lot of fun, but there were some missed opportunities. Who would you have brought back on an SG1 team just for a little cameo? Why wasn’t the cast of Wormhole X-Treme one of the alternate SG1s?
We did take a little issue with Landry refusing to allow time to find a solution to get all the stranded teams home. His SGC isn’t under any immediate threat like some of the other worlds are. He couldn’t give them 24 hours?
