Introduction to the Martyrs of Charity 8th graders at our school read the book THE COST OF COMPASSION: FIVE WOMEN WHO PAID THE ULTIMATE PRICE by Barbara Ann Pawlikowski. This book tells the story of five women of the Adorers of the Blood of Christ who dedicated their lives to serving the poor in Liberia, West Africa. Some of these women are related to our students and families of our parishioners so it makes their mission and sacrifice all the more meaningful.
