Beyond the Perfect Post: Real Talk About Our Relationship
Hey, y’all, welcome back to "This is for Us." I’m thrilled you're here, especially as we dive into a topic very close to my heart—relationships. Today, I want to share some insights into my own relationship with my husband, Alan Coley, affectionately known as AC. Link to FREE Quote Journal: Follow me on Instagram here: Drop a note on my website: Seven Years with AC Alan and I recently celebrated our seventh anniversary together. It’s been a whirlwind of emotions and experiences that truly feel like we’ve lived multiple lifetimes together. Like many couples, we’ve had to fit celebrations around busy schedules, which makes them all the more meaningful. This year, we decided to celebrate with dinner from our favorite spot, Cancun, which has been a significant backdrop to our relationship, from our first date to our wedding. The Realities of Our Relationship During a recent car ride, a conversation with a friend made me reflect deeply on our relationship. She mentioned that how Alan and I look at each other made her realize what was missing in her relationship. This struck a chord with me, reminding me of the times I compared our relationship to the seemingly perfect ones I saw on social media. The Challenges Behind Closed Doors Many don’t see the challenges we've faced—intense arguments, breaks, and the immense effort we've both put in to grow together. Relationships aren’t formed or sustained on effortless perfection; they are built through hard work, commitment, and a willingness to grow together. Growth Through Struggle I shared with my friend that every relationship, even those that seem perfect from the outside, has its struggles. These challenges are not just obstacles but opportunities for growth. Alan and I have learned to navigate these by constantly communicating, understanding each other's perspectives, and being willing to adapt. Choosing to Fight for Love In today’s world, where ending relationships can seem as easy as swiping on an app, it’s important to remember the value of perseverance. True love isn’t about constant happiness and ease but about fighting through difficult times together, learning, and growing in the process. Reflecting on What Makes a Soulmate A soulmate is not perfect but willing to go through the hardest times with you, someone who chooses to grow and adapt to be better for each other. Alan and I have worked through our differences and challenges by committing to better ourselves and our relationship day by day. Conclusion If you’re in a relationship and facing challenges, remember that the difficult times are as much a part of the journey as the joyful ones. It’s not about finding a perfect person but building a real, lasting connection with someone ready to face life’s ups and downs with you. Embrace the messiness and the beauty of relationships, and remember, every struggle is a step towards a stronger bond. Thank you for joining me today. If you’ve resonated with this episode or know someone who might, feel free to share it. I’m here to continue these conversations and support you through your journey in love and life. Remember, you're not alone in the highs and lows. Until next time, take care and keep nurturing your relationships with love, patience, and understanding. Until next time, take care and keep cherishing those around you. Remember, we're in this together, and through sharing our stories, we find common ground and healing because This Is For Us. I hope you love this episode xoxo

30. Embracing Life’s Transitions: A Message for Graduating Seniors and Beyond
Hey, y’all, welcome back to "This is for Us." I’m thrilled you're joining me today, especially as we dive into a topic close to my heart—embracing life's transitions. This episode is inspired by my recent interactions with the University of Tennessee cheerleaders and my high school seniors at Diamonds All-Stars, who are facing the daunting uncertainty of graduation and the next steps in their lives. Use code: NOELCOLEY for a 15% discount on Link to FREE Follow me on Instagram here: Drop a note on my website: Life at a Crossroads During a team dinner with the Tennessee cheerleaders, we discussed their upcoming graduations and the mix of excitement and fear that comes with such a pivotal moment. It struck me how these feelings resonate with students and anyone facing significant life changes. The fear of the unknown can be overwhelming, whether it's the end of college, a career change, or any major transition. The Universal Experience of Uncertainty What’s fascinating is seeing how these young adults at different stages—college and high school—are experiencing similar fears. The college seniors, now comfortable in their environment, face the anxiety of leaving that comfort behind, much like they did four years ago when graduating from high school. This cycle of comfort and transition is a recurring theme in all our lives. Reflecting on Personal Journeys Reflecting on my own graduation day, I remember feeling lost and terrified, unsure of what came next. That moment on my couch post-graduation was a low point, filled with uncertainty about my future direction. Many of us share this feeling at various points in our lives, whether triggered by educational transitions, career changes, or personal developments. Lessons in the ‘In-Between’ The ‘in-between’—those periods of transition from one chapter of our lives to the next—are incredibly challenging yet essential for growth. These moments force us to evaluate who we are beyond our roles and achievements. They compel us to consider our deeper identity, independent of external validations like our job titles, educational status, or social roles. Embracing Change with Confidence It’s crucial to remind ourselves that we are never truly stuck. Life is a series of choices and opportunities for change. If a job, relationship, or path no longer serves us, we have the power to pivot, to make new choices, and forge new paths. Understanding this can alleviate the fear associated with big decisions and transitions. The Power of Self-Knowledge Preparing for life’s inevitable transitions starts with a deep understanding of oneself. Knowing who you are, what you value, and what brings you joy can provide stability when external circumstances change. It’s about building a strong foundation within, so when the external structures shift, you’re ready and resilient. You are More Than Your Circumstances Ultimately, each of us is more than the sum of our circumstances. We are not defined by our schools, jobs, or relationships. These aspects contribute to our experiences but do not determine our worth or our potential for happiness. Remembering this can free us from the fear of change and empower us to take bold steps toward our true desires. Conclusion To all the graduating seniors and anyone stepping into a new phase of life, remember: You are capable and resilient. Change is not just an end but a beginning—new adventures, challenges, and joys await. Embrace these transitions with open arms and an open heart, trusting in your ability to navigate the path ahead. Thank you for sharing this time with me. Whether you’re a student stepping into a new chapter or someone else navigating your own transitions, I hope this episode brings you comfort and confidence. Let’s keep supporting each other, and remember, this podcast and our community are here for you. Here’s to embracing change and facing the future with excitement and courage. I can’t wait to see where life takes you next! Until next time, take care and keep cherishing those around you. Remember, we're in this together, and through sharing our stories, we find common ground and healing because This Is For Us. I hope you love this episode xoxo

29. Rising Above: Embracing the Power of Positive Mindset
Hello, y'all! Welcome back to "This Is for Us," the space where we come together as a community of friends to share, learn, and grow. I’m genuinely thrilled and grateful to have you here, joining me in another episode where we dive deep into real, raw conversations about life. Link to FREE Quote Journal - Follow me on Instagram here: Drop a note on my website Reflecting on Personal Struggles Lately, I've felt the weight of the world on my shoulders, something I've shared in previous episodes. Despite my best efforts to stay positive, I've been struggling with feelings of negativity and doubt due to difficult professional dynamics. I’ve felt overwhelmed by the harsh judgments and expectations of others, which has led me to question my worth and path. The Impact of Negativity It's human nature to let outside opinions impact us, and despite my efforts to keep a positive outlook, I've found myself succumbing to the negativity. This has been a cycle of self-doubt and sadness, fed by the harshness of a few, which I mistakenly allowed to overshadow the many positive aspects of my life. A Weekend of Revelation This past weekend, I experienced what I call a "Jesus wink" – a moment of clarity and reminder of the good surrounding me. Initially overshadowed by negativity, the weekend evolved into a profound reminder of all the beauty in my life. I realized how much I had let a small group's negativity cloud my perception of the overwhelming support and love I actually received. The Eagle's Lesson In seeking guidance and reassurance, I stumbled upon a story that perfectly encapsulated my situation: the tale of the eagle and the crow. The eagle doesn't take offense or even acknowledge the annoyance when a pecking crow is harassing it. Instead, it simply flies higher, reaching altitudes where the crow can no longer survive. This story hit home for me, symbolizing the power of rising above the fray and letting negativity fall away on its own. Embracing the Positives Reflecting on this, I've decided to shift my focus back to the positives, the 'roses' among the 'thorns.' It’s easy to get caught up in the few negatives and overlook the abundance of good in our lives. This realization reignited my appreciation for everything I have and reminded me of the importance of focusing on the positive, no matter how loud the negatives seem. Moving Forward with Gratitude I want to encourage each of you to look around and appreciate the 'roses' in your own lives. Recognize the people who uplift you, the successes, big and small, and the quiet joys that fill your days. Let’s rise like the eagle, higher and higher until the negativity can no longer reach us. Conclusion Thank you for joining me on this journey of reflection and rediscovery. I hope this episode serves as a reminder to focus on the positive, to rise above the challenges, and to embrace the love and light in your lives. Remember, we are all in this together, building a community where we support and uplift each other. I love you all and look forward to our continued journey together. Here's to rising above and letting our lights shine bright, unobstructed by the crows of the world. Until next time, take care and keep cherishing those around you. Remember, we're in this together, and through sharing our stories, we find common ground and healing because This Is For Us. I hope you love this episode xoxo

28. Lifting Spirits: Finding Joy in the Simple Things
Hello, y'all! Welcome back to "This Is for Us," the space where we come together as a community of friends to share, learn, and grow. I’m genuinely thrilled and grateful to have you here, joining me in another episode where we dive deep into real, raw conversations about life. Link to FREE Quote Journal - Follow me on Instagram here: Drop a note on my website It's funny how often I find myself thinking about you all. Whether I'm at my kitchen table, doing my makeup, or driving somewhere, you're on my mind. I constantly wonder about our similarities and differences and if you're feeling the same things I am. Recently, I've been feeling a bit "blah" for no particular reason. Sleep hasn't been great, and I've been in a weird mood. It made me think—maybe some of you also feel this way. So, let's talk about shaking off that dreariness and sparking joy in our everyday lives. Normalizing the "Blah" Days First off, it's totally normal to have days where you're just not feeling it, even if nothing is explicitly wrong. You're going through the motions but not really feeling excited about anything. It's during these times we need to give ourselves a little push to find happiness in the ordinary. Simple Joys to Brighten Your Day When I need to lift my spirits, I think about the little things that bring me joy. Here's what I suggest: HomeGoods Happiness: A quick trip to HomeGoods can do wonders. It could be something cute or a hint of spring decor. It's about finding joy in the little things. Music and Movement: Ask Alexa to play your favorite tunes, set a timer for 15 minutes, and tackle a small task like folding laundry or decluttering a space. Dance around if the mood strikes! Get Out and About: Whether it's grabbing your favorite coffee, taking a brisk walk, or treating yourself to a pedicure, do something that gets you out of the house and breaks the routine. Connect with Loved Ones: Reach out to a friend who lights up your life. Grab a quick bite, share a margarita, or just scroll through TikTok together. It's about being with someone who makes you happy. Date Yourself: Sometimes, treating yourself to a cheeseburger or sitting in a cafe with a book is all you need. Remind yourself of your worth and all the amazing things you're doing. Motivation to Move Forward We all have those moments where we're too hard on ourselves—critiquing our appearance, doubting our capabilities, or just feeling rundown. It's crucial, especially on these days, to do something that makes us smile and reminds us of the joy in living. After sharing these thoughts with you, I'm motivated to tackle some of those "blah" feelings myself—starting with finally washing my hair and maybe even decluttering a bit. I hope this episode encourages you to find your own little ways to lift your spirits and rediscover the excitement in everyday life. Thank you for sharing this time with me, and for being part of this ongoing conversation about life, love, and growth. If today’s discussions sparked a thought, a question, or a story you’d like to share, don’t hesitate to reach out. And if the idea of a retreat where we can connect, unwind, and grow together excites you, drop me a message with the word "retreat." I’m buzzing with excitement at the thought of bringing this dream to life. Until next time, take care and keep cherishing those around you. Remember, we're in this together, and through sharing our stories, we find common ground and healing because This Is For Us. I hope you love this episode xoxo

27. Answering your questions: Fitting in, Feeling Stuck in Life and Relationships, Holding Yourself Back for Someone Else
Hello, y'all! Welcome back to "This Is for Us," the space where we come together as a community of friends to share, learn, and grow. I’m genuinely thrilled and grateful to have you here, joining me in another episode where we dive deep into real, raw conversations about life. This week, I decided to do something a bit different. Inspired by the questions you've sent through my website and Instagram DMs, I'm answering three of them that struck a chord with me. Your privacy is paramount, so rest assured, that all questions are presented anonymously. Link to FREE Quote Journal - Follow me on Instagram here: Drop a note on my website Now, let’s dive into your questions. Navigating High School as an OutsiderThe first question comes from a 16-year-old feeling out of place in a small-town high school. Facing mockery and isolation, they ponder the idea of homeschooling as an escape. My heart goes out to you. Being targeted for being different is painful, but it’s crucial to remember your worth and potential. Homeschooling is an option, but consider it for the right reasons. Explore avenues within your school to connect with like-minded individuals or groups that appreciate you for who you are. Remember, true friends will embrace your uniqueness, not scorn it. A Single Mom’s Creative Crossroads A 37-year-old single mother shared her struggle with juggling a draining job while yearning to pursue her creative talents. To you, I say: your resilience and dedication to providing for your family already set a magnificent example for your daughter. To transition into a more fulfilling career, start small. Channel your talents into a side project or hobby that could evolve into a business. Every small step forward on this journey will bring you closer to living your dreams, proving to your daughter that it’s never too late to chase what truly makes you happy. Growing Apart in a Relationship The last question for today addresses personal growth and its impact on a relationship. A listener finds herself evolving, pursuing new goals and interests, which has created a rift with her boyfriend who longs for the person she was in college. Open, honest communication is key here. Share your feelings, aspirations, and desire for him to grow alongside you. If he’s the right partner, he’ll want to share in your journey, not hold you back. Remember, it’s okay to outgrow relationships that no longer align with your path. These questions reflect just a fraction of the diverse experiences and challenges we face in our journey through life. By sharing and discussing them, we seek answers and remind ourselves of the strength and support found within our community. Thank you for sharing this time with me, for being part of this ongoing conversation about life, love, and growth. If today’s discussions sparked a thought, a question, or a story you’d like to share, don’t hesitate to reach out. And if the idea of a retreat where we can connect, unwind, and grow together excites you, drop me a message with the word "retreat." 26. Navigating Life’s Contrasts: Embracing Grief, Love, Loss, and Renewal
Hello, y'all! Welcome back to "This Is For Us," where authenticity and heartfelt conversations pave the way for our journey together. Today's episode ventures into a realm that's deeply personal yet universally resonant: navigating the complexities of grief and loss, alongside the unexpected beauty that can emerge from our darkest times. As we explore the profound contrasts of life, remember, everything shared comes from a place of truth and experience, hoping to reach someone who needs to hear it. Link to FREE Quote Journal - Follow me on Instagram here: The Journey Through Grief The loss of my father-in-law recently shook my world and left me speechless. This experience has reminded me of the importance of embracing our feelings, of truly living through our grief rather than bypassing it. It's a path that promises healing, albeit through pain. Finding Support in Sorrow In these dark times, the support and love from friends and the community have been a beacon of light. It's reminded me that even in our lowest moments, connections and shared kindness can bring solace and strength. Acts of Kindness and Connection This episode serves as a reminder to reach out, to be that source of support for someone else. Whether it’s a call, a message, or a simple gesture, your act of kindness can be a lifeline for someone struggling in silence. Cherish Every Moment Life’s fleeting nature teaches us to hold our loved ones close, to express love and gratitude openly, and not to take any moment for granted. Let’s make every interaction count, remembering that everyone carries their own hidden battles. In Conclusion Though today’s topic comes from a place of loss, it’s also about finding hope, strength, and renewal on the other side of grief. Thank you for walking this path with me, for being a part of our community, where realness and compassion are at the heart of our conversations. Until next time, take care and keep cherishing those around you. Remember, we're in this together, and through sharing our stories, we find common ground and healing because This Is For Us. 25. Embracing Your True Self in a World of Opinions
Hello, y'all! Welcome back to This Is For Us, where we tackle the complexities of personal experiences, relationships, and the journey toward self-acceptance. To help us navigate these complex waters, I've created a resource just for you - the Quote Journal. It's free and designed to offer solace and inspiration during those tumultuous times. You're not alone in this journey, and that's precisely why This Is For Us exists. Link to FREE Quote Journal - Follow me on Instagram here: Today, we're delving into how we navigate the waters of opinions, judgment, and sometimes betrayal, all while striving to remain true to ourselves. If you've ever felt weighed down by others' opinions or struggled to maintain your sense of self amidst criticism, this episode is for you. In our lives, especially as women, we've all faced moments where someone's words or actions have hurt us. Whether we're the subject of rumors, feel judged, or experience the sting of betrayal, these situations can profoundly affect our self-esteem and how we view ourselves. But today, I want to shift the narrative and offer a perspective that empowers us to rise above the noise and embrace our true selves. Key Takeaways: You Are Enough: Have you ever felt like you aren't enough, no matter what you do? The feeling of inadequacy can be overwhelming, from personal relationships to professional settings. But here's the truth: you are enough, exactly as you are. Someone else's approval or rejection doesn't determine your worth. The Ripest Peach Theory: A vital lesson to remember is that you can be the ripest, juiciest peach in the world, and there will still be someone who doesn't like peaches. This analogy beautifully encapsulates the idea that we can't be everything to everyone - and that's okay. Our value stays the same because someone fails to recognize it. Self-Reflection and Empowerment: When faced with negativity or rejection, it is crucial to reflect on our intentions and actions. If we live with purity and goodness in our hearts, we've done all we can. The opinions of others should not have the power to define us or diminish our light. Letting Go of What Doesn't Serve Us: Sometimes, people and situations exit our lives, leaving us hurt and confused. It's essential to understand that not everyone is meant to stay forever. Some relationships are only meant to teach us lessons or prepare us for better things. Letting go can be painful, but it also opens up space for new, positive experiences and relationships. Building a Supportive Community: In a world that can often feel isolating, building a community of like-minded individuals who uplift and support each other is priceless. That's why I'm dreaming of creating a retreat for us - a space where we can be authentic, free from judgment and filled with love and acceptance. If you're interested in being a part of this journey, reach out and let me know. In Conclusion: Navigating the complexities of relationships and dealing with negativity is a part of life, but it doesn't have to define us. We can overcome any challenge by remembering our worth, embracing our true selves, and surrounding ourselves with positivity. Remember, you're not alone in this journey. "This Is For Us" is more than just a podcast; it's a community where we can find strength, comfort, and connection. Remember, this episode is a reminder that you're not alone in feeling the weight of others' opinions. Here at "This Is For Us," we're building a community where your experiences are validated and your journey towards self-acceptance is celebrated. Until next time, take care, and remember: This Is For Us. I hope you love this episode xoxo

24. Things Are Not Always What They Seem
Hello, y'all. And welcome back to This Is For Us! Today, I'm diving deep into something personal yet universally relatable: the facade we often present to the world versus our actual experiences and feelings. It's a reminder that despite the smiles and perfect snapshots on social media, there's often much more happening behind the scenes. To help us navigate these complex waters, I've created a resource just for you - the Quote Journal. It's free and designed to offer solace and inspiration during those tumultuous times. You're not alone in this journey, and that's precisely why This Is For Us exists. Takeaways from this episode: As I reflected on recent events, especially the insightful yet emotionally charged gathering at Bentley Medical, I was reminded of the profound lessons hidden beneath the surface of our day-to-day lives. These lessons have significantly shifted my perspective on the contrast between appearance and reality: 1. The Illusion of Perfection: Social media can often trick us into believing everyone else's life is flawless. Yet, as I shared my struggles with a skin breakout just hours before a highly anticipated event, I was reminded of the power of authenticity. Embracing our imperfections can lead to deeper connections and a more authentic sense of self. 2. Finding Strength in Vulnerability: The support and understanding I received at Bentley Medical, despite my earlier anxiety and distress, taught me the invaluable lesson that vulnerability is not a weakness but a bridge to genuine connections. It's okay not always to be okay, and sharing our true selves can light the way for others to do the same. 3. Life's Beautiful Contrasts: Through the highs and lows, I've come to appreciate life's beautiful contrasts. The challenges we face, like the skin issues I battled, remind us that growth often comes from discomfort. These experiences shape our stories, making them uniquely ours. 4. The Promise of Renewal: Just as March symbolizes a fresh start and the promise of spring, each day offers us a chance to begin anew. Regardless of yesterday's struggles, there's always hope and beauty waiting to be discovered. Embracing each day's dualities, with its potential for joy and pain, teaches us resilience and gratitude. As we navigate through the complexities of life, remembering that things are not always as they seem, let's take solace in our shared experiences. Let's cherish the moments of connection, learn from our challenges, and move forward with a sense of hope and renewal. Thank you for being here with me, for sharing this space where we can be our true selves, free from judgment and pretense. This Is For Us is more than just a podcast; it's a community, a sanctuary, and a reminder that together, we can face anything. I'm looking forward to our continued journey, exploring the depths of our experiences and finding light even in the darkest of times. Here's to embracing the real, the raw, and the beautiful in all aspects of our lives. I hope you love this episode xoxo

23. Learn to Appreciate All of Life's Lessons
Hello, y'all. And welcome back to This is for Us! In this episode, I share the roller coaster my gym recently experienced at Cheersport. It’s a great example of how unexpected life lessons can teach us important mindset shifts if we are willing to learn from them. Of course, no one likes to be disappointed or frustrated, but it happens. And being prepared for the “what ifs” is what it takes to walk through those unexpected times. It’s one of the many reasons I created the Quote Journal. It’s a free resource - for YOU - so you can navigate the storms of life. You know you don’t have to do it alone. I’m here, and it’s precisely the reason I created this podcast because: This Is For Us! Link to FREE Quote Journal: Takeaways from this episode: As February drew to a close, I promised myself to leave the darkness behind and welcome March as a symbol of hope and renewal. Despite struggling with sleep and grappling with my thoughts, the dawn of March 1st represented a fresh start, an opportunity to shed the weight of the previous month and embrace the brighter days ahead. Pressure is not always a bad thing. In reflecting on recent experiences, particularly with cheerleading, I've distilled three key lessons that have helped me navigate through adversity: 1. Pressure is a Privilege: Inspired by Billie Jean King's words, I've learned to view pressure not as a burden but as a testament to our capabilities and potential. It serves as a reminder that obstacles frequently accompany opportunities for growth and success, pushing us to succeed and capitalize on our strengths. 2. The Beauty of Contrast: A fulfilling life isn't comprised solely of perfect outcomes. The contrasts between good and bad, light and dark, define our experiences and shape our character. Through adversity, we learn resilience and find strength, crafting a narrative that's uniquely ours. 3. Embracing Life's Dualities: Life's beauty and hardships coexist, offering life lessons in gratitude and resilience. Appreciating the roses among the thorns is essential, recognizing that both success and failure contribute to our growth and understanding of the world. As we step into March, I'm reminded of Erin Hansen's words, which echo the promise of renewal and the endless cycle of seasons. Life's unpredictable nature, with its highs and lows, shapes our journey, encouraging us to persevere through the coldest winters in anticipation of spring's warmth and new beginnings. Life’s lessons are shared through tears and triumphs, a testament to our collective strength and the transformative power of sharing our stories. As we navigate life's complexities, let's remind ourselves of the brighter days ahead, fostering a community of support and understanding. Thank you for being a part of this journey with me. I'm eager to continue our conversations, sharing our experiences, and learning from each other. Here's to a March filled with hope, growth, and brighter days for all of us. I hope you love this episode xoxo

Highlights: [01:00:6] Cheer Sport Week [04:03:3] Valentine’s Day - Finding Balance Amidst Chaos [09:09:2] Reality vs. Social Media [14:45:2] Sharing Personal Struggles [27:31:5] Finding Strength in Shared Experiences Hello, y'all. And welcome back to *This is for Us*. It is really freaking early here in Knoxville. And that is also because it is cheer sport week, and in my world of all-star cheerleading, it's a really big deal. It's something that we work for and push towards for months. It is one of the biggest weeks of our year, and this year, we are taking a ton of teams there and having really long days. Our first team starts around 7 a.m. so that we will be going until well after 10 p.m. with teams competing. So, I've been trying to practice. I'm not an early morning person, but I also work really late. I stay up really late. So, it will be a little bit crazy for just what I'm used to this weekend. So, send all the positive vibes our way. Be thinking about us this weekend. This past Valentine's Day, I found myself reflecting on the complexities of life and love. As I stood in the doorway of my home, exhausted from another late night at the gym, I was greeted by a scene that warmed and weighed on my heart. My husband, Alan, had fallen asleep on the couch, waiting for me to return so we could share a meal together. It was a simple gesture, but it spoke volumes about the challenges we face in balancing our personal and professional lives. Social media can be a double-edged sword, offering glimpses of perfection while concealing the messy realities of life. As Valentine's Day approached, I observed the flood of posts celebrating picture-perfect relationships, extravagant gifts, and romantic gestures. But behind the facade of perfection lies a truth that many of us are all too familiar with: life is messy, and love is imperfect. In sharing my own struggles and insecurities, I hope to remind others that they are not alone. Whether you're a mom, a wife, a girlfriend, or simply navigating life alone, we all experience moments of doubt, fear, and vulnerability. It's okay to cry, to feel overwhelmed, and to admit that life isn't always perfect. As I prepare for another busy weekend at the gym, I am reminded of the power of vulnerability and the strength that comes from sharing our experiences with others. Whether celebrating our successes or navigating life's challenges, we are stronger together. So, let's continue to support and uplift one another, embracing our imperfections and finding strength in our shared humanity. I hope you love this episode xoxo

20. Celebrating Love In All It's Forms
Hey everyone, it's been an eventful week over here, and I'm thrilled to share some personal stories and thoughts on Valentine's Day with you all. First off, I had a cheerleading mishap a few years back that damaged my earlobe, but I've finally had it repaired and got my ears re-pierced, including a new helix piercing which, surprisingly, hasn't been painful at all. I also tried eyebrow lamination and tinting, which is a new experience for me, and I'm waiting to see how I feel about the darker look. On a more sentimental note, it's my golden doodle Pailin's 10th birthday. Reflecting on our time together, she's been with me through thick and thin, and I'm incredibly grateful for her companionship. It's amazing how much we've both grown and the unconditional love she's given me. With Valentine's Day around the corner, I want to shift the focus from the commercial aspect and talk about love in all its forms. Whether it's self-love, love for friends, family, or even strangers, it's important to recognize and celebrate it. I encourage you to be your own Valentine or to perform random acts of kindness to spread love to others. I've had my share of lonely Valentine's Days, but I've learned to make the day special by showing love to others. One year, I left $20 bills with notes for strangers to find, which brought me immense joy. So, whether you're single or in a relationship, make Valentine's Day about all the love in your life, not just romantic love. Remember, you have the power to make someone feel seen and loved. Let's use Valentine's Day as an opportunity to spread light and love in any way we can. And if you do something special or have ideas to share, I'd love to hear from you on Instagram. I hope you love this episode xoxo Highlights: [00:00:34] Hoop earring mishap and earlobe repair. [00:03:53] A golden doodle ornament. [00:09:14] Love and motherhood. 19. No More Mean Girls
In today's episode, I dive deep into the topic of drama, particularly within the world of women and teenage girls. As someone who owns an all-star cheerleading business, I'm constantly surrounded by females of all ages, and I've witnessed both the beauty and the ugliness of these relationships. I'm a staunch advocate for women supporting each other, but I also recognize the toxic "bubble" that can form, leading to gossip, rumors, and mean-spirited behavior. I address those who are victims of drama, urging them not to give power to the perpetrators. It's essential to challenge oneself to rise above the negativity, to attend events despite the fear of judgment, and to remember that often, the issue is with just a few individuals rather than everyone. For those who find themselves spreading rumors or being part of the problem, I call for self-reflection and change. It's never too late to apologize and make amends. I emphasize the importance of being a role model, especially for mothers and those in influential positions. I passionately argue that being a "mean girl" isn't cool, and that true beauty lies in kindness and inner strength. I encourage listeners to protect others' names in their absence, to be inclusive, and to stand up for what's right. It's about creating a community where we support each other through tough times, without judgment or assumptions. I also touch on the idea that we all have our own internal struggles and insecurities, and it's unfair to add to someone else's burden by being cruel. Instead, we should focus on being good humans, spreading love and positivity, and being lights in the darkness. I call for an end to the "mean girl" culture and for a shift towards a narrative of empowerment, support, and genuine friendship. I want listeners to walk into any room with their heads held high, knowing their worth, and refusing to let anyone else's negativity define them. My hope is that this episode inspires you to embrace your value, to be a beacon of positivity, and to always remember how incredible you are. I hope you love this episode xoxo Highlights: [00:01:03] Drama between women and girls. [00:04:10] Overcoming the influence of others. [00:08:34] Banding together against mean girls. [00:11:56] Spreading rumors and hurting others. [00:15:47] Being kind to others. [00:19:20] Mean Girls and Self-Worth. [00:23:25] Taking up freaking space.

18. Give Yourself a TIP - Turn it Positive

18. Give Yourself a TIP - Turn it Positive
In this episode, we dove deep into the concept of reframing our mindset to focus on the positive – a little mantra I like to call "give yourself a TIP," which stands for "Turn It Positive." I shared a personal dream that inspired this idea and discussed how we can apply it to our daily lives. We all have moments where we feel overwhelmed or stressed, but I emphasized the importance of recognizing these feelings and consciously choosing to find the silver lining. Whether it's dealing with negative self-talk, facing challenges, or even something as simple as encountering traffic, there's always an opportunity to shift our perspective and find gratitude. I also touched on the impact of our attitudes on others. Are we a source of light and positivity, or do we contribute to a cycle of negativity? It's crucial to consider how our interactions, even the briefest ones, can influence those around us. Throughout the episode, I shared examples of how we can practice this positive shift, from being stuck in traffic and seeing it as extra personal time, to handling breakups and viewing them as fresh starts. It's all about building that "TIP muscle" and making gratitude a habit. I hope this episode serves as a reminder that we're all in this together, facing similar struggles and striving for happiness. And remember, if you have any questions or topics you'd like me to cover, don't hesitate to reach out on Instagram @NoëlRobertsColey. I hope you love this episode xoxo Highlights: [00:02:16] Turn it positive. [00:06:40] Be thankful for what you have. [00:07:53] Choosing positivity in daily life. [00:12:06] Letting go and making room. [00:15:39] Breathing life into others. [00:19:09] Traffic in Knoxville, Tennessee. [00:23:03] Traffic and personal growth. [00:25:42] Starting over after a setback. [00:29:23] Reminder of our similarities.

17. Creating a Safe Space to Be Yourself
In today's episode of "This Is For Us," we dove deep into the concept of negativity and its contagious nature, drawing parallels between rotten fruit and toxic people in our lives. I shared a personal anecdote about how a rotten apple in my fruit bowl managed to spoil a fresh one just by being in close proximity, which led to a broader discussion about the influence of negative people. We explored how negative individuals, much like rotten fruit, can spread their pessimism and toxicity to those around them, often without us even realizing it. I emphasized the importance of being mindful of the company we keep and the potential impact they can have on our perspectives and well-being. The conversation also touched on the idea that if someone is consistently negative about others, they are likely to be the same about you when you're not around. It's crucial to trust your instincts and distance yourself from such influences to protect your own mental space. I encouraged you all to reflect on your relationships and consider whether you might need to remove any "rotten fruit" from your life to make room for more positive and uplifting connections. I hope you love this episode xoxo INSTACART CODE: NROBERTS46A1D7 Highlights: [00:02:58] Staying busy during a snowstorm. [00:03:51] Instacart grocery delivery. [00:09:30] Rotten apple turning green. 16. Trusting the Path and Figuring It Out
In this episode, I dove deep into the themes of hard work, overcoming rejection, and the importance of perseverance. I shared personal reflections and stories to illustrate how these themes play out in our lives, especially in the world of sports. I also touched on the concept of hard work and how it seems to be a diminishing value in today's society. I expressed concern about the growing trend of entitlement and laziness, especially among young athletes, and the need for a resurgence of dedication and commitment to achieving greatness. Throughout the episode, I emphasized the idea that the most rewarding experiences often come from the hardest work and that we should not fear making mistakes, as they are opportunities for growth. I encouraged listeners to work for their dreams, trust the timing of their lives, and believe that good things will come their way. 15. Finding Grace and Confidence in Ourselves
In this episode, I reflect on the common struggles and experiences that women share. I start by discussing a recent gathering with my girlfriends where we worked on our vision boards. I noticed that all of us had goals related to self-image, self-worth, and self-confidence. This led me to question why it is so difficult for us to stick with these goals and make positive changes in our lives. I explore the fear of failure and the overwhelming amount of advice and expectations placed on women. I encourage listeners to change their definition of failure and to take things one day at a time, celebrating small victories instead of focusing on slip-ups. I also emphasize the importance of giving ourselves grace and being kinder to ourselves. I share personal experiences with body image and the realization that I need to stop planning to fail and start planning to do the things that will make me feel better about myself. I discuss the power of choice and the need to seek validation from within rather than relying on others. I hope you love this episode xoxo Highlights: 00:00:07 - Introduction and the mission of the podcast 00:02:00 - The importance of vision boards and a group activity 00:04:30 - The struggle of sticking with goals and the fear of failure 00:08:00 - The mindset change needed for success 00:10:30 - Giving ourselves grace and redefining failure 00:13:30 - Choosing our own path and staying in our own lane 00:16:00 - Flipping the script and seeking our own validation 00:19:00 - Building self-confidence and making mindful choices 00:22:00 - The purpose of the podcast and the desire for community 00:24:30 - Personal struggles and the need for clarity and peace 00:27:00 - Conclusion and gratitude for listeners' support

14. Finding Magic and Miracles in the New Year
As we step into the new year, it's a perfect time to look back at the past and plan for the future. It's not just about setting resolutions on January 1st; it's about recognizing that we can start fresh any day of the year. Each year is a chapter in our lives, and today marks the first page of a new one. I shared my personal story of unexpected growth, from doubting my ability to launch a podcast to becoming a podcaster within the same year. It's a testament to the magic that can unfold in 365 days. We all have the power to choose how we respond to life's challenges, whether we see them as setbacks or opportunities for growth. Reflecting on 2023, I realized that it was a year of learning curves, both professionally with my business, Diamonds All-Stars, and personally. I learned to adapt to growth, to change my mindset, and to embrace the lessons that came with difficult times. These experiences are shaping me into the person I aspire to be. In 2024, I encourage you to think about the dreams you want to achieve and to believe that they are on their way. Let's ask ourselves what the best version of us would do in each situation and make decisions aligned with that vision. Remember, it's not about reaching a final destination; it's about loving ourselves throughout the journey. Let's release negativity, embrace our failures as lessons, and give ourselves grace for the progress we make every day. As we move forward, let's fall in love with every version of ourselves, past, present, and future. They all contribute to who we are and who we will become. My wish for us all is to find joy in the journey and to be proud of the growth we experience. 13. Reflecting on the Year: Taking Inventory of Our Lives
With the holiday season in full swing, I shared my personal Christmas traditions and the joy of spending time with loved ones. From our staff party at Diamonds to family games and cherished moments, it's been a whirlwind of happiness and togetherness. But as we navigate this strange week between Christmas and New Year's, often wondering what day it is or if we should even change out of our pajamas, I wanted to dive deeper. This episode wasn't just about sharing my holiday experiences; it was about taking inventory of our lives and preparing for the year ahead. I introduced a challenge, or rather, some "homework" for us all. I've created a free PDF linked in the show notes to help you reflect on the past year. It's a tool to ask yourself meaningful questions about what went well, what didn't, and how you can grow from those experiences. This isn't about setting overwhelming New Year's resolutions; it's about making small, manageable changes that compound over time. I also opened up about my own goals and dreams, like growing this podcast and becoming better at preparing for events to avoid unnecessary stress. I shared the importance of not letting others' decisions affect our happiness and the power of starting anew at any moment, not just on January 1st. So, grab your favorite drink, find a cozy spot, and join me in this exercise of self-discovery and intention setting. And if you feel like sharing your thoughts or your own vision board, I'd be thrilled to see it on Instagram. Thank you for spending this time with me, and I can't wait to embark on this journey of growth and self-improvement together. Here's to a fantastic New Year filled with love, laughter, and self-love. I chat about how our self-confidence shouldn't be hanging on what others think. It's all about finding that strength within ourselves. We should be supporting each other and lifting each other up. It’s time to shut down that annoying self-doubt and embrace the unique magic each of us brings to the table. We all have something special, honey, so don’t let anyone, even the BITB, tell you otherwise. Be your own best friend. Fall in love with yourself. Believe in yourself. You are magic. I hope you love this episode xoxo Highlights: [00:04:58] Being mean to ourselves. [00:09:12] Self-doubt and comparison. [00:11:24] Positive comments can change lives. [00:15:31] Being our own biggest supporter. [00:19:12] Fall in love with yourself. [00:22:45] Boost of confidence and badassery.

2. Push Past Your Fears and Make Your DREAMS Your Reality
Fear is something we ALL experience. While there are scenarios where fear is helpful, most of the time the fear we feel that’s trying to keep us “safe” is really only keeping us small. Since launching this podcast last week I’ve had so many people reach out asking me about the podcast or have started conversations about the big dream they have that they want to create, but are afraid to start. Back when I started my allstar cheerleading gym over 14 years ago I didn’t know what I was doing, but I made it happen. Here’s the secret to making it happen, regardless of whether “it” is starting a podcast yourself or starting a new relationship, the key is to start even though you’re scared! To take the next step towards what you want even though you’re afraid or aren't sure what the next 10 steps will be. HIGHLIGHTS 05:00 What I didn’t know 14+ years ago when starting my allstar cheerleading gym. 08:30 How to get the courage to take your next step (before knowing ALL the answers!) 14:15 Are you taking the time to celebrate the “small” wins? 16:00 Ways to pump yourself up and take the next step despite fear. 18:30 The gifts that are waiting for you when you push past your fears.
