Chef Triathlete Podcast l Episode 6: Hormone Health: The Signs You’re Ignoring (Men, Women & Longevity)
Are you feeling off… but your labs say you’re “normal”? In Episode 6 of the Chef Triathlete Podcast, we break down the subtle — and often ignored — signs of hormone imbalance in both men and women. From low testosterone and declining recovery in men, to perimenopause, menopause, and metabolic shifts in women, we unpack why so many people are told they’re “fine” while still struggling with fatigue, brain fog, mood swings, stubborn weight gain, and lack of drive. We also dive into: • Why reference ranges don’t always equal optimal • The role of cortisol and chronic stress • How overtraining, poor sleep, and under-recovery impact hormones • Why education and awareness come before intervention If you care about performance, longevity, and feeling like yourself again — this episode is for you. And next week, we bring on a special guest to go deeper into menopause, women’s nutrition, and how training should evolve during hormonal transitions. Longevity is intentional. Let’s build it the right way. Chef Triathlete Podcast l Episode 4: Proof Over Excuses: Longevity Is Built, Not Given
This past Friday I had the opportunity to sit down with my good friend Joe Johnson as a special guest on the Chef Triathlete Podcast — and this conversation was incredibly powerful. Joe is living proof of what’s possible when you: ✔️ Stay curious and continue to research health and longevity ✔️ Take care of your body with intention ✔️ Prioritize strength training and recovery ✔️ Set meaningful goals — and keep raising the bar He’s deeply invested in understanding his health, from training principles to recovery science, stem cell therapy, and peptides — but more importantly, he applies what he learns. He continues to set personal records, compete in endurance events, and pursue new challenges with purpose and discipline. This conversation reinforced something we talk about often: The so-called “drop-off” doesn’t have to happen. With intentional strength training, proper recovery, and clear health goals, you can continue to feel strong, capable, and energized well into later stages of life. Here in Massachusetts, we’re getting ready to be snowed in today — which makes this the perfect time to pause and reflect. If you haven’t been prioritizing your health… If you’ve been putting goals off… If you’ve been waiting for the “right time”… 👉 Now is the time. Let’s get excited. Let’s set new goals. Let’s take ownership of our health — today and for the long run. Chef Triathlete Podcast l Episode 3: New Year, Big Goals, & Sustainable Change
In Episode 3 of the Chef Triathlete Podcast, we focus on goal setting with intention and what it takes to create goals that are realistic, sustainable, and achievable. We break down the “New Year, New You” mindset—why motivation alone isn’t enough—and how lack of planning often leads to burnout or setbacks. Using my own endurance goal of entering the Leadville 100 as an example, we talk through how big goals require clear milestones, structure, and patience. The episode also covers weight-loss goals, including an overview of different weight-loss peptide options, how they may support certain individuals, and current conversations around availability. We wrap up with a teaser for our first upcoming guest on the next episode. Chef Triathlete Podcast l Episode 2: Mindset as Medicine: Stress, the Nervous System, and Longevity
Episode 2 is live 🎧 and we went deep on something most people overlook: RECOVERY. We talked about how recovery isn’t just for athletes — it’s for real life. Training, work, stress, family… it all adds up. If you don’t recover, you don’t progress. In this episode we covered: • The importance of quality sleep • Staying intentional with hydration and fueling • Daily mobility to keep your body moving pain-free • Understanding and managing stress levels • Why a true rest day matters • Creating an evening wind-down routine to set yourself up for success We also discussed the healing stack — BPC-157, TB-500, and GHK-Cu — and how supporting recovery at a cellular level can help not only with training, but day-to-day life. 👉 The takeaway: Be intentional. Sleep more. Move better. Slow down when needed. Recovery is progress. If this episode helped you, share it with someone who needs permission to rest.
