At the age of 20, Hal was hit head-on by a drunk driver at 70 miles per hour. He broke 11 bones, and was actually pronounced dead at the scene, only to be later revived. He spent the next 6 days in a coma, only to wake up to the news that he may never walk again. But he battled through it to become a huge success. He even went on to run 52-mile ultra marathon.
