Building Peace

On a cold February Sunday in 1822, Father Samuel Thomas Wilson, OP, delivered the “most fruitful sermon of his life” … a sermon that resulted in nine women joining the Dominican Order. Like the Biblical loaves and fishes, those nine women grew into a multitude of Dominican women religious serving God and God’s people. Through war and famine, fires and riots, frontier living, and the birth of new cities, Dominican women religious have been a force that shaped and supported the growth of our nation. This podcast tells some of their stories.
