Interview - Lily Benavides (Green Party)
In conversation with Lily Benavides, the Green Party's gubernatorial candidate for New Jersey in 2025. I spoke with Lily after she joined us for our screening of Gaza Fights for Freedom. Our conversation covered topics such as affordability of living in New Jersey, immigration, and Palestine. The discussion goes beyond the scope of this year's gubernatorial election and thus will remain relevant after. Lily moved to the United States at the age of 24 from Colombia. She served as a Democratic member of the New Hampshire House of Representatives from 2007 to 2009 and today, she is running a write-in campaign as the green party’s gubernatorial candidate after Democrats sued to contest the signatures that were collected to get her on the ballot.
