Hey Parents !!!! Are you tired of the Chaos? Start Saying “No.” Your Neurodivergent Child Needs It. No Isn’t Rejection—It’s Redirection!!
"Welcome back to The Path to Peace Therapy Podcast. I’m Stephanie Buckley—an AMFT Solution-Focused Therapist specializing in ADHD, OCD, anxiety, depression, and bipolar disorder. I’m also a mom to a now-thriving 22-year-old neurodivergent son, and I’ve been married for over three decades. So what you hear today isn’t just clinical—it's lived experience, it’s layered, and it’s honest. I know what it feels like to second-guess your parenting decisions, to lie awake at night wondering if you were too harsh or not firm enough, and to carry the weight of wanting so badly to get it right—for a child who feels things more deeply, reacts more intensely, and needs more from you than most people understand. This podcast is where clinical insight meets real life. Because peace isn’t perfect—but it is possible. And most days, it starts with showing up. Imperfectly, but consistently. With a deep breath and a willingness to learn. So if you’ve ever wondered: Am I being too strict? Am I being too soft? Why do my kid’s reactions feel so big—and why do mine feel even bigger? How do I stay calm when my child is anything but? And what do I do when nothing seems to work? You’re in the right place. I’ve asked myself those same questions more times than I can count—and I want to walk through the answers with you, one compassionate, honest conversation at a time. Today’s episode is a big one—and honestly, it’s one I wish someone had handed me years ago. We’re diving into: How your parenting style literally shapes your child’s brain, behavior, and self-worth—especially when you’re raising a neurodivergent child.
