How to Embrace Change: Using Nature as Your Guide
In this week's episode, I'm going be talking about embracing change and getting inspiration from nature. All of us face change at some time in our lives, it can be a difficult experience for many people. We are creatures of habit and tend to resist anything that disrupts our routine. However, change is absolutely necessary for growth and development. Without change, we would remain stagnant and unable to move on or progress. Change can take many forms, a major life event like job loss, breakup, divorce, or simply something like a change in routine. And many of us find it hard to cope and it can have a massive, profound effect on our lives. I believe getting inspiration from nature can really lessen its impact. As we understand that we move in cycles, as the seasons do, we also change and evolve. Women and men have been circling and sitting in circles for thousands of years. Women in particular would come together during certain Luna and menstrual cycles throughout the month or for special events throughout the year. Women's circles are a brilliant way to tap into the power of sisterhood and foster connection, and healing. And so this week I'm going to be talking about my own experience of creating circles. Forest Immersion & Why It’s Good For You
Today I'm going to be talking about the benefits of spending time in woodlands and forests. This could be called forest immersion, forest bathing or shinrin-yoku, which literally means forest bath. It was the Japanese who first coined this phrase in 1982, and it means bathing in the forest atmosphere or taking in the forest with all of your senses. If you are interested in nature connection and spending time in nature, you may have noticed a massive increase in people offering this as a form of therapy, ecotherapy, or simply just to take stressed-out people into nature to make them feel better and really connect with nature and themselves. This is of course, what the Creatrix Journey is all about, spending time in nature and connecting with all of your senses to the elements and the nature around you and expressing it through creative writing. So I'm obviously a massive fan. Why Storytelling is Important
This week on The Creatrix Journey I am going to be talking about storytelling. As a former journalist, I have spent over two decades telling people stories, whether that's on the radio, television, in magazines, features, blogs, podcasts, you name it I've been telling their stories. I am absolutely passionate about storytelling. It's the reason why I became a journalist in the first place, I was fascinated by people and their amazing stories of redemption, pain, loss, and victory, all of it fascinated me. The human condition and how people face adversity, and often overcome it in incredible ways. For me, story is a fundamental part of the human existence. It's how we connect and communicate with each other and it's very important in life and business. So listen up while we do a deep dive into why storytelling is so important. How to Find Your Inner Creatrix
Welcome to the second episode of The Creatrix Journey. In this episode, I'm going to be talking about how to find your inner creatrix. Creativity has been around forever, humans have always created. We use it to communicate our identity, create solutions, share new ideas, and bring people together. However, fulfilling our creative potential can sometimes feel like a struggle. So connecting to your inner creatrix can really help you lead a more joyful and creative life. But how do you find her? For those of you that don't know what a creatrix is, she is a spiritual, female creator. She's in tune with her spirituality and her full creative powers. She is a force to be reckoned with. A creatrix is defined in the dictionary as a female who produces, creates and brings forth. It is a word that has been used since the 1600s. It's such a powerful word and when I use it in my copy and when I talk to people about it, they get really excited because she is a woman who is deeply connected to feminine power, and she's unafraid to share her creations with the world. When women hear the word for the very first time, often, they say, “tell me more. I want to be creatrix”. I love the impact that just this one word can have on people. And I hope it inspires you to step into being creatrix and exploring how to find yours. What is The Creatrix Journey?
Welcome to the first ever episode of The Creatrix Journey. This podcast is part of my soul's mission, it comes from my heart to yours, and I cannot wait to share with you my own journey and other powerful female creators' stories. And this is why it is called The Creatrix Journey. So what is it all about? My aim is to raise the collective consciousness step-by-step through walking and writing. That means going out for a walk and then coming home to write. Now, it sounds really simple, but we live in a distracted age. Every time I go out walking, I see people who are not truly connected to nature. So this is about nature connection, connecting to the source and sharing your words and wisdom with the world.
