The eighth Resource Roundup features The Election Group’s Writing Emails for Email Marketing Campaigns and H.H. Humphrey School’s panel discussion, The Power of Communications. walks users through how to create an email marketing campaign to help quickly get important and accurate information to voters. Creating an email marketing campaign ahead of each election cycle ensures that voters are receiving important updates directly from your office as a trusted source of information. They can be used to highlight upcoming events, processes and important dates and deadlines. Emails should provide details, important dates and deadlines and resources for readers.. The Humphrey School of Public Affairs at the University of Minnesota has an active with lots of informative videos about election administration. This video, The Power of Communications, is a panel discussion that serves as a valuable resource for election administrators by highlighting essential communication strategies—clarity and transparency, proactive engagement, crisis management, feedback and improvement, and the use of visual and digital tools—election administrators. These methods can foster a more informed and engaged electorate and not only help in building trust, but also ensure that the election process is smooth, transparent, and efficient. The seventh Resource Roundup features The Election Group’s Creating a Media Guide template and The National Association of State Election Director’s Election Communications Toolkit. TEG’s is a helpful tool for election offices to make sure journalists and other newspeople have access to important information about elections. This resource is a quick copy-paste template to place on your website and fill in your jurisdiction’s information. There are suggested headers and subheaders included. Then you just add in your information. The template includes your contact information, important dates and deadlines such as candidate qualifying deadlines, mail ballot request and return deadlines, first and last days of early voting, and election day. There’s an option to include a schedule of events for your office, press releases, vendor information, etc. This is helpful for the media, and voters, to be able to find a lot of answers to their questions quickly.
