Buc-ee's, Dallas Eats and More!
September 2, 2023 Round 2 in Texas! We’re here for a women’s conference and of course exploring some new eats, treats, spaces, and places while we’re here! Fashion - the shopping options are out of control here especially coming from Washington state! Hello Southlake! Food - we joke that it’s the land flowing with milk & honey. One of their grocery store chains, called Central Market is as we say, “fully stocked” from their produce to innovative products. And exhibit A - we finally visited a @bucees store! Where they have everything from gas to clothes to kitchen gadgets and all the food! Everything is truly bigger in Texas! Fitness - Rhoda completed the Hood to Coast Run! 🏃🏼♀️ Faith - we’re here at the ICING women's conference, which involves a lot of cupcakes and a lot of inspiration to go after your dreams! Fun Finds - we found oatmeal sandwich cookies from this farmer’s market type store in the historic district of Grapevine that were worth a second trip! Did we mention they’re gluten free & no bad oils? 📍Follow on Instagram. https://www.instagram.com/somethinggoodmorningshow/ 🐤Join our SG Birdie community on .

Howdy from Texas!🤠 | Fashion, Food, Fitness, Faith, Fun Finds
8.19.23 Howdy from the sweltering heat of Texas!🤠 Fashion We’re keeping it cool with a basic summer capsule wardrobe. Rose is keeping it breezy with a floral wrap that can dress an outfit up and provide an extra layer in the air conditioned indoors! Wraps whether long or short can be a great way to transition into fall. Rhoda is sporting a skort from the Gap that’s the perfect length - not too short but not a mom length either. The sleeveless top is from the Loft and can play nice with skirts, shorts, pants, & jeans. Food We are eating our way through Texas! Surprisingly, we had never eaten at @velvettaco before but it’s iconic, has a great aesthetic and most importantly has delicious tacos from Smashburger to Mediterranean and all the usual suspects of course. You can get corn tortillas if you’re gluten free like us. When in Texas a visit to Magnolia is a must and The Magnolia Table satisfied our hunger after all that sitting & driving.☺️ Every detail screams Jo Jo! The breakfast sandwich & the burger hit the spot. @vanleeuwenicecream is one of the best ways to cool off on a hot summer day or really any time. You can find their ice cream in some stores but since they have scoop shops in Texas we had to visit, plus they have vegan flavors which was a win. Fitness Sharing your fitness goals with someone else is one of the best ways to progress in your fitness. We challenge you to share your fitness goals with someone this week! Faith We came to Texas for a friend’s reception and we were reminded how important legacy friendships are. So keep cultivating those friendships, it will be worth it years later. We also feel inspired whenever we go to @visitmagnolia. Chip & Jo literally created something out of nothing. Fun Finds @drinkwildwonder prebiotic + probiotic sparkling drinks are tasty & refreshing. See you next week! #somethinggood #morningshow #lifestyleshow #visittexas #visitmagnolia #coffeechat #foodinspo #fashioninspo 📍Follow on Instagram. https://www.instagram.com/somethinggoodmorningshow/ 🐤Join our SG Birdie community on .

Labor Day Inspo | Fashion, Food, Fitness, Faith, Fun Finds
SGMS Aug 26, 2023 Labor Day Inspo What’s good? We survived the Texas heat and we found soft serve frozen yogurt sweetened by honey!🍯 🙌🏼 Fashion - Arrow backpacks by @walkerfamilygoods are a great back-to-school option for kids or adults. They are fashionable and functional. Food - It only seems right to celebrate Labor Day with watermelon and all the fruit!🍉 Watermelon skewers with feta, mint, and a drizzle of balsamic glaze are a sweet & savory way to give summer a proper send-off. If watermelon isn’t your thing, try peach crostinis - top sliced baguette with ricotta cheese, sliced peach, drizzle with balsamic glaze & honey, add a sprig of basil and you got a mouthwatering treat. Favorite balsamic glaze @nonnapias Fitness - Avoid exercising outside when the air quality is bad - it may be tempting but it’s not worth it. 💨 Rhoda is doing the Hood to Coast run for a fun team challenge. Faith - The book, @atomichabitsjamesclear has some of the best quotes and is one of those books that can be read every year. Here are a couple quotes that hit home. “One of the most effective things we can do to build better habits is to join a culture where your desired behavior is the normal behavior.” “Environment is the invisible hand that shapes human behavior” Fun Finds - @paleovalley beef sticks & bars - great for travel and those non-stop on-the-go days! We love the red velvet & lemon meringue flavors. 📍Follow on Instagram. https://www.instagram.com/somethinggoodmorningshow/ 🐤Join our SG Birdie community on .

Navigating NYC | Solo Travel Tips
8.12.23 The one about NYC. Welcome to our first solo cast! Rose wasn’t able to be here today so I’m on my own. It worked out well though because now I can tell you all about my NYC trip! I went to NYC for one of my best friend’s wedding and it was amazing! She got married on the rooftop of a hotel and the backdrop was epic! Traveling solo can be intimidating but with a little common sense and planning, it can be a super empowering experience . The most nerve wracking thing for me was riding in a Lyft or Uber with a stranger. I know people do it all the time but i don’t where i live. Here’s some steps I took to reassure myself. Make sure the license plate number on the car matches what is on the app Ask the driver his/her name and make sure it’s the same as what’s on the app Check the child lock on the door before getting into the car Share your ride details with friends or family Carry a @shes_birdie with you Don’t get dropped off at your hotel. Get dropped off a block away and walk Don’t over share your life or personal info or where you’re staying Most likely nothing will ever happen but it can help put your mind at ease by taking this precautions. It’s amazing how getting out of your comfort zone can be very empowering. It makes you realize you are capable of doing more. Many times when we step out, that’s when other doors open and opportunities we otherwise wouldn’t have come our way. The magic happens outside our comfort zone. Have you traveled solo? Have you made an uncomfortable decision only to see other doors open as a result? Would love to hear about it! Thanks for joining me! Rose will be back next week! 📍Follow on Instagram. https://www.instagram.com/somethinggoodmorningshow/ 🐤Join our SG Birdie community on .

Live Demo | Dalgona Coffee + Protein Cold Brew
8/5/23 Coffee Episode ☕️ We are brewing up three different coffee recipes for you today! Rhoda loves her brewed coffee in the morning with a little cream and Rose typically makes cold brew all year long. We thought we’d share some other ways we take our coffee. Although, we really would take it in any form.😊 Let us know how you take your coffee. ☕️Dalgona Coffee- Do you remember how this whipped coffee went viral like 2 years ago? It’s a fun way to dress up your instant coffee. Add 3 Tbsp instant coffee (we use organic Mt Hagen) 3 Tbsp sweetener (we used maple sugar but you can use honey, coconut sugar, or any sweetener you prefer), then add 2 Tbsp hot water. Add it all the a bowl and whisk by hand until stiff peaks form or you can take a short cut and use a KitchenAid with the whisk attachment. Then add ice to a 12oz cup and your milk of choice and then top it with the whipped coffee. It makes for a beautiful presentation. Then stir it together and enjoy! Next, we have Rose’s cold brew. She uses a mason jar and filter from amazon and prepares the coffee overnight so it’s ready to drink in the morning. She like canned coconut milk in hers for extra creaminess. ☕️Lastly, we have the delicious and protein-packed cold brew. It can be made with brewed coffee, espresso shots or cold brew. Add 12oz of coffee or 2 shots of espresso to a blender. Then add two scoops of goat whey protein and 1/4 cup milk of choice. Blend it all together and pour over ice. Coffee in all its forms is a win in our book! See you next week! 📍Follow on Instagram. https://www.instagram.com/somethinggoodmorningshow/ 🐤Join our SG Birdie community on .

4th of July Inspo | Fashion, Food, Fitness, Faith, Fun Finds
Happy 4th of July! 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸 Fashion - @ivyandcloth is coming in strong again with their 4th of July lineup! They are our go to for every holiday. They also just came out with a jewelry line! Now if you want to level up your 4th of July out if it game then you should check out this red gingham dress from @loft Pair it with these denim heels and you’ll be turning heads. Loft is having a huge sale! Thanks to @loverlygrey for the inspo! And you can use code: loverly10 to get 10% off your online order! Food - We know everyone will most likely be having hot dogs and hamburgers so we thought we’d bring you some sides. Rose will be making paleo cherry pie bars from @lexiscleankitchen. Another easy, last minute side is fruit. Cut watermelon out into stars with cookie cutters and add it to a skewer, then add blueberries to the bottom and voilà! You have a festive fruit option! Fitness - Does your family participate in any fitness challenges on the 4th? We usually get a workout in and then set up lawn games like spike ball, corn hole, can jam etc. Faith - If you’re not a firework person or just want some air con, then maybe a movie on the 4th would be good for you. We’d suggest everyone see and support Sound of Freedom. It’s about human trafficking. Although it’s heavy subject matter, it’s super important to be aware and support @ourrescue to stop trafficking. Our mom likes to bring out the trivia on holidays to make us aware of why we are celebrating and 4th of July is no exception. Here’s a link to a printable trivia pdf Fun finds - Are you obsessed with s’mores as much as Rose is? Then maybe you should look into buying an electric s’mores maker that way you can have them all year round! Find them at most big box stores. Nothing says summertime like a laying in a hammock on a warm summer day. Checkout @mybackyarddecor for hammocks! And if you need a fit pit to roast those marshmallows, then look no further than @goMyfireside. It’s got the patriotic vibe on lockdown. 📍Follow on Instagram. 🐤Join our SG Birdie community on .

Birthday Fun! | Fashion, Food, Fitness, Faith, Fun Finds

Birthday Fun! | Fashion, Food, Fitness, Faith, Fun Finds
June 10, 2023 Rose’s Birthday - Favorite Things Edition🎉 It was Rose’s birthday yesterday so we thought we’d bring you her favorite things! Fashion - I used to love to be matchy, matchy with all of my outfits. I had an affinity for polka dots & bright colors. I can now can say that my preferred pattern is stripes. Polka dots have sure made a comeback though! I used to have a black and white polka dot dress that I wore for 8th grade graduation. Now I’ve seen almost the exact same dress in stores! If you have the storage space, keep all your clothes and they will eventually come back in style. I used to have a pair of wooden clogs and I loved them! I wish that clogs would make a comeback. Food - Thai food has a special place in my heart, really any Asian food. I also really love marshmallows, which we’ve mentioned before, but they really are my favorite. It’s hard to find healthier marshmallows though that don’t have corn syrup. Maybe I’ll make them for 4th of July. I also really love nougat. Europe seems to have more nougat readily available then the USA. It’s like a cousin of the marshmallow so maybe that’s why I like it some much. Raspberries are my favorite fruit and although I love chocolate, I usually pick something more fruity and light for my birthday cake. Growing up my fav treat was the Hostess powdered donuts with raspberry filling (can’t believe I just said that). Our grandma would always have them at her house. Fitness - I’ve appreciated a good workout video since 6th grade! In more recent years I have enjoyed Tone it Up & The Faster Way. Really any kind of community centric workout program. I like it when the workout is figured out for me. I’m already putting in the physical effort so why waste the mental effort of figuring the workout out? Faith - I’ve been digging into some Bible studies lately. I have a friend that does them with me. It provides some accountability. @theDailygraceco or Tara Leigh Cobble Bible studies have been a few I’ve done. I also remember reading “Hinds Feet on High Places” by Hannah Hurnard many years ago and it had an impact on me. Fun Finds - As you’ve heard me say before, I really love my PowerSheets & all things from @CultivatewhatMatters, the obsession is real. A few birthdays ago I got this cute little leather bag from @ParkerClay. They are the type of purse you have for the rest of your life. They are high quality leather bags, so a bit more spendy, but will last forever and be in- style as well. As I’ve mentioned previously, I really love Dazzle Dry. Gives you that non-toxic gel manicure without the salon prices. Bon Charge is a company that makes great blue blocking computer glasses. I’m on my computer all day so these are a necessity! ⏰Join us Saturdays at 8:30am PDT on Instagram 🐤Join our SG Birdie community on .

Father's Day Inspo | Fashion, Food, Fitness, Faith, Fun Finds
June 3, 2023 Father’s Day Edition Fashion - A few years back our sister got our Dad some shirts from and they were a hit. They are for the guy that gets overheated easily, and wants to be comfortable but still needs to dress up. Their dress shirts are moisture wicking and have stretch to them, but look like a traditional dress shirt. is another brand that is great for the guy in your life. It’s performance apparel with a coastal California vibe. Food - Now, what food your Dad likes will be a personal preference, but our Dad has always enjoyed our mom’s carrot cake. He’s really good about eating anything and isn’t particular which a real blessing! Can’t go wrong with baking him a batch of anything. Fitness - Our Dad likes anything CrossFit related. He competed in the Crossfit Games 5 times as a masters athlete so he’s very into anything involving athletics and fitness. One of the jump-ropes he likes and uses is @elite_srs jump ropes. They have a whole guide on their website so you know exactly which jump rope would be good for you. Faith - We reached out to the men in our our lives and they had a few podcasts and books to recommend for fathers. Two podcasts to check out are: Future Men | Raising Boys to Fight Giants by Douglas Wilson and Manhood | The Masculine Virtues America Needs by Josh Hawley. A book recommendation is "Teach Them Diligently | Using the scriptures in child training" by Lou Priolo. Fun Finds - We see how obsessed our Dad and brother-in-law are about keeping their cars clean so if your Dad is the same way then a gift certificate for a car wash would be perfect! Also reflexology or a foot massage gift certificate is always a winner. We got our Dad a Ninja blender after he used a Vitamix for years and he loves it! He's never going back. He makes a smoothie every day. The cuts through anything and we love the single serve feature. You could also make a customize @Miir tumbler for your Dad if he's a coffee drinker. Etsy has some great custom art keepsakes for the sentimental Dad. For the minimalist Dad, check out . ⏰Join us LIVE on Saturdays at 8:30am PDT on Instagram. @somethinggoodmorningshow 🐤Join our SG Birdie community on .

Hot Summer Finds | Fashion, Food, Fitness, Faith, Fun Finds

Hot Summer Finds | Fashion, Food, Fitness, Faith, Fun Finds
May 27, 2023 ☀️Hot Summer Finds Edition Fashion - We love the idea of a capsule wardrobe. We are not quite there ourselves, but we aspire to that. @CarlyjeanLosAngeles has it all figured out for you if you’d like to try out a capsule wardrobe. You can either buy one of their seasonal wardrobes, such as The Golden Summer capsule, or mix and match pieces to make your own capsule. They even have a downloadable guide to help you understand and pick out pieces for your capsule wardrobe. Food- Are you as obsessed with drinks as we are? We are the drink queens! We have our still water, our sparkling water, and then of course coffee! We are always double, or even, triple, fisting it! Summertime especially finds us sipping on all the drinks. We like using a soda stream at home instead of drinking out of cans. This way we can make our own sparkling water. We like to make a little spritzer with lime juice, stevia, ice and sparkling water. So refreshing! We found this genius idea for a cookie mix. It’s called @youagainfoods and you add your favorite nut butter and water and voila, you have cookie batter! We also love that they add some Ayurvedic adaptogens such as ashwagandha, reishi, and holy basil to reduce stress, induce relaxation and calm the mind. How cool! Plus they use ingredients like maple sugar instead of regular sugar as a sweetener! Must try soon! Rose is kinda obsessed with marshmallows but it’s not always easy to find one that doesn’t have weird ingredients. After a little digging, she found Deliciously marshmallows! Check them out here https://shopdeliciously.com/ Might have to add these to our 4th of July smores tradition! Fitness- Anyone else whip out the blender as soon as Summer hits? Or do you smoothie all year long? Well something you might want to add to your smoothie regimen is the @elitefuel Greens and Reds powder. It’s an easy way to get more fruits and veggies in plus it contains broccoli seed extract which is show to boost the immune system and fight cancer. It’s been heavy metal tested, which is a big deal when it comes to a greens powder. Faith - Rose came across this printable for the month of June from @AnnVoskamp and it’s called Be the Gift. It gives you a prompt each day to do something for someone else or somehow reach out to those around you. It’s a great way to remind ourselves to be others focused. It’s easy to be in our own little world and be worried about what’s going on in our lives, but the really joy comes when you give out. Fun Finds - Shaken, not stirred. Anyone else use a cocktail shaker for homemade shaken espressos? They just seem to taste better when you shake them up. They can also be used for mocktails or really any fun drink that you want to spice up! Rhoda got our mom these @Magnolia ice cream containers. During the summer she makes homemade ice Crean and it’s always an issue of what to store them in. So now she can store them in this pint size ice cream containers! As we mentioned, we love our beverages. This is where @theMasonBarCompany comes in. They offer a mason jar in various sizes with a lid that has a straw. You can get different colored lids, like rose gold, silver, gold, or even a bamboo lid. We usually drink out of glass as much as we can, versus plastic. It would make for a great gift too! Happy Memorial Day weekend and we’ll see you next Saturday! ⏰Join us LIVE on Saturdays at 8:30am PDT on Instagram. @somethinggoodmorningshow 🐤Join our SG Birdie community on .

Memorial Day Edition | Fashion, Food, Fitness, Faith, Fun Finds
05/23/2023
Memorial Day Edition | Fashion, Food, Fitness, Faith, Fun Finds
5/20/23 Memorial Day Edition 🇺🇸 Fashion - As with all Holidays, @IvyandCloth has you covered for Memorial Day! Their patriotic shirts all great to wear all summer long. We also like the idea of getting a new pair of sunglasses for the sunny season. It’s fun to have a pair that’s athletic and more casual and then another pair that’s more stylish and fashionable. Rhoda has had a couple pairs of @quayaustralia sunglasses over the years and they are still going strong. They have classic frames as well as some more trendy frames to choose from, plus they offer a virtual try-on! Bonus: they are polarized too. Summer time is a great opportunity to wear those easy, breathable cotton dresses and stay cool, but also look cute. @shop_avara has many options but one in particular is the neacie dress. Pair it with some slip on sandals or white sneakers and you’ve got an outfit! Food - As of Memorial Day, barbecue season will be in full swing. One way to up level your hot dog game is to try @twrgrassfedbeef hot dogs. Not only are they delicious but they don’t have any mystery meat in them! You can find them for a steal at Costco. Another staple in our family is a salad our mom has made for years. It’s called the cashew, cream cheese ball salad with celery seed dressing. It’s very simple ingredients, but it’s not like any other salad you’ve had. The only thing is that you have to hand roll the cream cheese into small little peas size balls the night before. We are also a sucker for a good coleslaw recipe and it pairs well with the hotdogs. Rose has made one from Paleogrubs.com. And lastly, if you really want to wow your guests, whip up a patriotic themed charcuterie board! Fitness - You may have hear of a famous workout that Crossfiters do over Memorial Day weekend called Murph, but do you know the significance of it? It’s to honor Lieutenant Michael Murphy who was killed in action in Afghanistan. It’s called a Hero wod in Crossfit. Murph consists of 1 mile run, 100 pull-ups, 200 push-ups, 300 squats, 1 mile run and that’s with a 20lb vest on. A lot of people scale it down so they can actually participate, but the whole goal is to push through the pain and remember that others gave it all for our freedom. Faith - Memorial Day is not just the kick off to summer or a time to barbecue. Memorial Day is an American holiday, observed on the last Monday of May, honoring the men and women who died while serving in the U.S. military. Originally known as Decoration Day, it originated in the years following the Civil War and became an official federal holiday in 1971. Many Americans observe Memorial Day by visiting cemeteries or memorials, holding family gatherings and participating in parades. Unofficially, it marks the beginning of the summer season. Did you know that a law was passed that states everyone must take a minute of silence at 3pm on Memorial Day? Fun Finds - To show your patriotism, you could hang some buntings on the outside of your house. (Found at most stores or Amazon). If you need healthy food ideas for summer time, Danielle Walker’s Celebrations book has you covered. If you are new to grilling or need ideas, check out Hey Grill Hey. And if you’d like to get away from the traditional grilling of hot dogs and hamburgers, then try fish tacos, asparagus, grill pizzas, or even peaches to pair with vanilla ice cream! We are always on the lookout for natural mosquito repellant so we are going to try @primallypure Nature Spray and we’ll report back. Anyone else deal with full glasses left at their house after a big party and you don’t know who’s drink it is and you’re left throwing it away? We need ideas! Maybe we’ll have to go back to the old sharpie method. ⏰Join us LIVE on Saturdays at 8:30am PDT on Instagram. @somethinggoodmorningshow 🐤Join our SG Birdie community on .

Mother’s Day Edition | Fashion, Food, Fitness, Faith, Fun Finds
5/6/23 Mother’s Day Edition Fashion - Skorts have made a comeback and we are here for it! This seems like a great option for moms. It looks cute yet it’s comfortable and you can chase toddlers around without a worry since you have shorts underneath. If you’re looking for a gift for mom then consider Birkenstocks. They have a lightweight, plastic like version that can easily be cleaned and slips on are a must for a mom. Also check out @minted for matching and customizable mommy and me aprons. Food - We asked our Mom what she would prefer for Mother’s Day and she said a good soup & salad combo! Her ideal Mother’s Day is just spending time with her family and bonus if we can squeeze in a walk or a trip to the farmer’s market. Of course each mother is different so find out what meal would she prefer. Fitness - Ever heard of stroller strides? Our sister use to do it. It’s a great way to get together with other moms and get a workout at the same time. Check them out at fit4mom.com Faith - Since we aren’t moms, we talked with our sister and sister in law about books they would recommend for motherhood. Royal Coronation + Kentucky Derby | Fashion, Food, Fitness, Faith, Fun Finds
4/29/23 It’s a big week ahead with the Kentucky Derby 🐎, King Charles’ Coronation 👑and Cinco De Mayo 💃🏻! There’s lots to celebrate! Did you know the code name for the coronation is “Operation Golden Orb”! Set your clocks early if you want to catch it live! The ceremony starts at 3am PST but if you want to catch the guests filing in then be sure to start at 2am or record and watch later. It’s available to watch on all major networks but we prefer sky news coverage on YouTube. If the Kentucky Derby is more your thing, then that will be the 5th and 6th. Fashion - Hat or fascinator? Both the coronation and the derby will have ladies donning hats and fascinators. It’s fun to see all the different varieties! Interestingly, Katherine Princess of Wales, has popularized the fascinator and we can’t blame her for not wanting hat hair. Although a wide brim hat could protect your face from the sun and would be ideal for outdoor events. Food - We’ll be double fisting it with a Mint Julep mocktail in one hand and a cup of tea in the other! The Mint Julep became the official drink of the Derby in the 30’s but it’s believed that Churchill Downs planted mint outside the clubhouse in 1875 to make the first juleps. Here’s our mocktail version: Mint Ginger ale Honey Crushed ice makes the drink (and the cute silver cup)! We’ll also be sipping on our coronation tea! In honor of King Charles, stores have come out with special tea blends. One is from Fairmont and it’s called the Windsor blend. If you’re celebrating the coronation then you might want to put clotted cream and biscuits on the menu as well as the official dish of the coronation- quiche! Fitness - since we are celebrating the Derby and the English are known for being horseman, we thought we’d let you know that horseback riding can burn 250-400 calories an hour. This is your avg trot, galloping will get you 550-700 calories/hour! Plus you can be out in nature. Faith - Run your race. Sometimes you have to put blinders on wnf focud on your lane. Don’t be concerned with what everyone else Is doing and don’ fall into the comparison trap. We all have different gifts and strengths. Play to your strengths and build those up. Bucket List Edition | Fashion, Food, Fitness, Faith, Fun Finds
April 22. 2023 ✅Bucket List Edition What’s on your bucket list? Rhoda would love to say she’s climbed Mt Kilimanjaro and Rose would love to experience @blackberryfarm Fashion - Wouldn’t it be lovely to have a tailored made pair of jeans? They’d fit so perfectly because they’d be made just for you! Something on Rhoda’s list is David yurman jewelry! We also would take a Louis Vuitton bucket bag. There’s just something classic about a Louis! Back in the day, when we visited NYC, we went to Canal street and went crazy for all their knockoff name brand purses. 🤦🏻♀️ Food - Rose has always dreamed of attending a dinner with @outstandinginthefield. Rhoda thinks it’d be fun to experience a Michelin star restaurant. We’d also like to cook or bake our way through a cookbook like on Julia and Julia. Fitness - Snowshoeing has been on our list for awhile but just can’t seem to mage it happen…but we will! Next winter we are doing it! One thing that should be on everyone’s bucket list is to do a pull-up. That’s just functional fitness for life. It’s so empowering when you can do a pull-up. I know it seems impossible but it’s not. Rhoda never thought she’d be able to, but after working at it for months, she can now! Check out the pull up progression program from @drwholeness and you’ll be doing pull ups in no time! Let’s combine travel and fitness by doing @Ragbrai! You bike across Iowa with thousands of other people and make stops through all the towns. Everyone comes out for it and there’s food and music! Faith - Journaling your life, when you check off a bucket list item and your prayers is a great way to leave a legacy and to remember your life and all the prayers that have been answered and the things you’ve been able to accomplish. Fun Finds - some random things on our bucket list- attend the Kentucky derby so we can where a fascinator hat and drink a mint julep, Greece is at the top of our travels list, see the northern lights, travel around the European Christmas markets in December, leave a $500 tip at a restaurant, learn a language or instrument, search kickstarter and randomly fund some campaigns. That’s just for starters! We keep a bucket list going on our notes app and are always adding to it! What’s on your bucket list? ⏰Join us LIVE on Saturdays at 8:30am PDT on Instagram. @somethinggoodmorningshow 🐤Join our SG Birdie community on .

Spring Cleaning Edition🧽 | Fashion, Food, Fitness, Faith, Fun Finds
4/8/23 Spring Cleaning/Organization Edition Fashion- It’s time to Marie Kondo the closet! If it doesn’t bring you joy or you haven’t worn it for awhile then it’s time to give it away. When purging the closet, make 4 piles- one for give away, one for keep, one for throw away and one for sell. We like to use Poshmark, FB marketplace or a consignment store for things we want to sell. Using a different colored bin for each season is a good way to know what bins to grab when you’re transitioning to the next season. Food- You’ve heard it said before but meal prepping is a way to get your food organized. Taking just a couple hours on the weekend to cook your meat and make a few freezer meals is going to be a life saver during the week ahead. Rhoda likes using pint size mason jars to divide her meal into single servings and then freeze them. This way you can pull one out when you’re in a pinch. We like using the clean plastic bins for our fridge to thaw meat in so that if it leaks it’s contained. We love the idea of using a ziploc organizer in our drawer ! Fitness- Did you know vacuuming for 30 minutes burns 94 calories? And organizing a room burns 189 calories? Strap on that fitness tracker and see how many calories you burn! Faith-Dr. Caroline Leaf’s book, “Cleaning up the mental mess” takes a deep dive into getting rid of toxic thinking. Our physical body and life aren’t going to be successful if our mind is not on board. Listen to it on audiobook as you clean! @drcarolineleaf Finds- what brand of cleaning products do you use? We like @forceofnatureclean cleaning products because it’s completely natural and it’s one solution for everything. Did you know that in scandavian countries they air out their bedding on the deck? It’s like opening the windows to your house and letting the stale air out but for bedding! Have old tech gadgets, laptops, cords etc? Take them to Best Buy & Staples for recycling! For old phones, we’ve used @gazelle_com to send them in for cash. The make it super easy. ⏰Join us LIVE on Saturdays at 8:30am PST on Instagram. @somethinggoodmorningshow 🐤Join our SG Birdie community on .

Easter Edition | Fashion, Food, Fitness, Faith, Fun Finds
Easter Edition Fashion - We are phasing out our winter uniform and trading it for a lighter spring look! We love the thought of doing a capsule wardrobe, but we aren’t quite it that minimalist level yet. We aspire to that! We’ve seen a spring capsule wardrobe with a khaki, navy, denim, and white color palette that we would love to incorporate in our closet. Food - What do you do for Easter? Are you an Easter brunch person or an Easter dinner person? Our family is more casual so we do brunch. Eggs Benedict is what’s on the menu for us! If you do Easter baskets then may we recommend some healthier candy options. We like anything from the @unreal.snacks , @smartsweets , @altereco_foods , and @evolvedchocolate brand. You could also do fruit leather from Costco. Vitacost has all these candy brands and they are usually running a 15% off coupon. Fitness- It’s a new month! Maybe it’s time to start tracking some fitness/health habits. Have you used a wellness/fitness tracker or planner? @cultivatewhatmatters has a wellness journal or you can also make a custom one using Canva. Just start with one habit like drinking your water everyday and check it off everyday. Faith - Easter isn’t all about bunnies, hiding eggs and candy, it’s about Jesus being raised from the dead! To keep our minds on the real reason for Easter we found these Bible reading plans on the Bible App. You can do a 3, 5, or 7 day plan leading up to Resurrection Sunday. Fun Finds - This week we’re bringing you an Easter craft! Have you seen the IG reel on making a resurrection garden? It’s adorable and such a clever idea! We’ll put the reel in our story or you can go to Pinterest and search “resurrection garden”. Spring Inspo Edition | Fashion, Food, Fitness, Faith, Fun Finds
3/18/23 Spring Edition 💐🌷💐🌷 Fashion - The classic white sneakers is a must for every closet. @superga is the brand Rose has and they’ve served her well. Apparently, Kate (The Princess of Wales) swears by them. April shows bring May flowers which means you’re going to need a rain jacket. Rose has one from @athleta that is mid length and lightweight yet water proof. It’s a great stylish but functional option. Jumpsuits continue to pop up in the fashion world. @matethelabel has a one that’s currently on sale. They are a non toxic option. Food - Of course we can’t talk about spring food without mentioning asparagus. Just a quick drizzle of olive oil, salt and pepper and pop under the broiler for a few minutes. In the South, there’s many variations of the 7 layer salad but the one we love has cucumber, tomato, peas, cheddar cheese, bacon, lettuce and it’s drizzled with a dill dressing. It’s the perfect combo of crunchy and fresh. @southernlivingmagazine has a good recipe. Fitness - If you’re going to be getting outside for walks or runs this Spring, then you might want to be thinking about getting a @shesbirdie. It’s an extra layer of protection. It’s an alarm and light that you can engage if you feel threatened in any way and it’ll draw attention to the situation. Faith - In honor of National Women’s month, we bring you an inspirational read from @ericmetaxas called Seven Woman and the Secret of Their Greatness. Take it with you on that Spring break trip! Fun Finds - Spring nail colors to try out! Magenta was the Pantone color of the year. What’s hot this spring is pastel metálica, and brought links. As you know by now, Dazzle Dry is our go to home gel nail kit. You could also check out press on nails from Olive & June. The International Cherry Blossom Festival, one of the biggest in the country, takes place in Macon during March and April. If you’re local to Washington, then check out the Tulio festival in April in Skagit Valley! Thanks for joining us! St. Patty’s Day Fun🍀 | Fashion, Food, Fitness, Faith, Fun Finds
3/11/23 🍀 St. Patty’s Edition🍀 👗Fashion - We’re taking a spin on “green” and wanted to tell you about a green non-toxic clothing brand called- Mate the label. Their clothing is slave labor free, is made without plastic, 100% organic, and chemical free. They offer classic, minimalist pieces that will be in style for years. It’s an investment but take it one piece at a time. 🥗 Food - Now which do you prefer, Shepherd’s pie or corned beef? @daniellewalker has a healthier version of Shepherds pie if you want to get in the spirit for St Patrick’s Day. Here’s Rose’s take on the traditional Shamrock smoothie: 1 cup unsweetened hemp milk 1/2 coconut cream 1 Tbsp lime juice 1/2 Tbsp fresh ginger Handful of cilantro 1/2 cup frozen spinach 1/2 frozen banana 1 Tbsp chia seeds 1 tsp vanilla extract 1 Tbsp E3 Live blue green algae Combine in a high speed blender and then add 2 scoops of Vanilla @activwhey and blend for 10 more seconds. Enjoy! 🏃🏻♀️Fitness - Anyone participating in a St Patrick’s Day run? Rhoda is doing the local 5k called Run Amok. Of voices they offer a pint after but we don’t drink so might have to have the shamrock smoothie after the run. 😁 Faith /Inspiration - A couple movies come to mind when thinking of Ireland. One is “P.S. I Love You” with Hilary Swank and Gerard Butler. One of our favorite quotes from the movie is, “I can’t believe I married a leprechaun!” Admittedly, the movie is sad, but it still is so good. The other movie is “Leap Year” with Amy Adams. This is your traditional feel good rom-com. So if you want to be transported to Ireland and hear that fun Irish accent, then check one of those out. Fun Finds - Did you hear? @liketoknow is having a 25% sale on the spring collection! You don’t necessarily need to get something green. There’s lots of fun florals and spring dresses. Maybe a new Easter dress? ⏰Join us LIVE every Saturday at 8:30am PST on Instagram! 🐤Join our SG Birdie community on Patreon.

What We’re Marching Towards | Fashion, Food, Fitness, Faith, Fun Finds
3/4/23 ✨March Motivation✨ March is like the time between Christmas & New Years….it kinda feels like a time warp. It’s not really winter but spring hasn’t come either. Anyone else feel this way? Fashion - Skorts have made a comeback and we are here for it. They are preppy, fun, flirty, and modest with those shorts underneath. Target has a really cute one for under $30 and in so many colors. Check out @loverlygrey to see how to style it. Food - Rose is going to attempt to make hot cocoa bombs. We know spring is approaching but it still feels like winter in the PNW so that means we are sticking with hot drinks. You can get a mold for the hot cocoa bomb on Amazon or at Michaels and then you melt chocolate, add it to the mold, then add your hot cocoa mix, then top it off with more chocolate. Once you freeze then, pull one out when you want a cup of hot chocolate and drop it in to a mug of A2 milk or hemp milk and watch as it explodes! This would be really fun to do with kids! Fitness- With daylight savings approaching, now’s the time to start thinking about some fitness goals. Maybe sign up for a half marathon or 5k. Put something out there to work towards. Rhoda is doing a relay called Hood to Coast in August so she’ll be starting her training for that soon! Faith - You’ve probably heard us talk about Tara Leigh Cobble, but did you know she has a Bible study called “He’s Where The Joy Is”? Rose will be going through it with a friend and will report back, but I’m sure it’s going to be good because we’ve really enjoyed everything we’ve listened to from Tara Leigh. Fun Finds - By now your summer tan is long gone (unless you’ve been able to travel to sun) which is why we like to help our pasty white faces out with Eco Tan Face Water. It’s completely natural and is very forgiving. It’s really light and can build over a few days as you apply. It just gives a nice glow without looking orange. It livens the face up! ⏰Join us LIVE every Saturday at 8:30am PST on Instagram! 🐤Join our SG Birdie community on Patreon.

February Favorites | Fashion, Food, Fitness, Faith, Fun Finds
💟 February Favorites💟 Our grandmas’s 93rd birthday is Monday and she’s as spry as ever! On the other end of the spectrum, our nephew is 4 weeks old already! We have a roundup of our February Favorites! Fashion - Rhoda loves her Zella leggings. Specifically the Studio Lite crop leggings. They stay put while working out and they are streamlined for a slimming effect. Food - Can coffee be a food group? Our Grandma thinks so! I think our love of coffee comes from her. 😊 One of our favorites is Purity. You’ve heard us talk about it before but it’s mycotoxin and pesticide free as well as organic. Switch out your coffee for the good, beneficial stuff! We couldn’t let February pass by without mentioning chocolate again…specifically Hu chocolate, and make it salty! Their salty dark bar is the perfect sweet and savory treat! Check your local Grocery Outlet for a deal on them! Fitness - Rhoda got a Stanley cup for her birthday and her water consumption has soared! Hydration is huge when it comes to health so drink up! So far she’s really enjoying Stan. 😄 . Faith - If you haven’t listened to Candace Cameron Bure podcast, what are you waiting for?! She just wrapped the first season with and it’s been soooo good! We want to go back and re-listen! It’s been inspiring getting to know Tara Leigh more and hearing her story. We can relate to a fellow single sister! Pro tip: watch on YouTube so you can see the cute set! . Fun Finds - We have been reading John Maxwell’s book, The 15th Invaluable Laws of Growth, and it’s been helping in creating a personal growth plan. Remember, if you don’t grow, then nothing around you will grow. Another fave we have to point out again is the Matters PowerSheets planner and Reading Journal. The planner helps you keep on track with your goals and the reading journal is like a mini book report for each book your read. Plus, it’s so vintage looking and pretty! ⏰Join us LIVE every Saturday at 8:30am PST on Instagram! 🐤Join our SG Birdie community on Patreon.

Heart Health Edition | Fashion, Food, Fitness, Faith, Fun Finds
02/23/2023
Heart Health Edition | Fashion, Food, Fitness, Faith, Fun Finds
2/18/23 ❤️❤️February is Heart Health Month❤️❤️ We had some heart pumping action this week watching our niece’s basketball game. She was in a tournament and they ended up winning, but it did elevate the blood pressure! Fashion - We got the sweetest gift from our Dad on Valentine’s Day. Opal heart @gorjana necklaces! They are dainty and perfect for layering with other necklaces. And since it’s heart health month, and we should be getting our heart rate up, we want to remind you of the @Altra running shoes. They have a wide foot base which allows your foot to lay flat as it naturally would without shoes on. Food - 🌽Did you know vegetable oils are not good for your heart? They actually increase heart disease and inflammation. So check your labels for sunflower oil, palm oil, canola oil, soybean oil, cottonseed oil and switch to coconut oil, avocado oil, Grassfed butter or ghee. ☕️Coffee can actually be good for your heart! Your daily cup of joe could be doing more for you and your heart than just giving you a boost of energy, just make sure it’s organic, free of mold and mycotoxins, pesticides and other toxins. A few coffees that check all the boxes are @puritycoffee @lifeforce @kion 🍎 Apples keep your heart healthy because they're high in a soluble fiber called pectin. Pectin is known for blocking cholesterol absorption in your gut, and it also encourages your body to use cholesterol rather than store it. An Apple a day really does keep the doctor away! Fitness - We can’t talk about heart health without mentioning exercise. What can you do to get your heart rate up? Go for a brisk walk, a jog, circuit train, whatever gets your huffing and puffing. A fluctuation between the timing of heartbeats is called heart rate variability, or HRV. Measuring HRV can provide information about your overall health. Most smart watches can measure HRV. Faith - Did you know most heart attacks happen on Mondays? It’s believed to be because people dread going to work. How sad?! Let this give you pause and reflect if you have a cause of the dreaded Mondays. Do you need to make a change in your line of work or can you find ways to enjoy what you do? Maybe you need to start taking steps to live a more fulfilling life. Fun Finds- Two things to help with your heart health is reflexology and jump roping. So many diseases nowadays are stress related. Our society is obsessed with going 100mph and living in a stressed state. We love reflexology as a way to completely relax and de-stress. You can also read a good book, going on a walk, or take a bath. Find ways to alleviate stress! If you need an easy way to get your heart rate up then look into getting a jump rope! It’s simple yet effective. Start with 50 jumps a day. We like @rpm and @elitesrs ropes. ⏰Join us LIVE on Instagram every Saturday at 8:30am PST! 🐤Join our SG Birdie community on .

Birthday Edition 🥳| Fashion, Food, Fitness, Faith, Fun Finds
2/11/23 Birthday Edition 🎉🎂✨🥳 It was Rhoda’s birthday this week! In honor of that, we are talking about all things birthdays and celebrations! Fashion - Remember the fashion from the 2000’s? Rhoda graduated in 2005 and we are seeing some of the same fashion trends coming back. I’m not sure how I feel about cargo pants. I mean their practical but are they really fashionable? And who remembers the matching tracksuits from juicy couture? We can be thankful for those since they were the start of athleisure wear! Food - How about some “healthier” dessert options for your birthday or to give someone for their birthday? Meet the Source- These treats are on another health level but still taste like little balls of heaven. They are so healthy that they are basically guilt free. Check out their new collaboration with @shutthekaleup….maple donut bliss balls. Of course, Daydream Desserts is always a special treat to gift someone. They are so decadent and who doesn’t love receiving a package in the mail? Homemade blizzards with coconut ice cream anyone? The Ninja, Creami ice cream maker is next level. It’s makes any kind of ice cream you want. We’ve done dairy free coconut gelato or raw dairy ice cream and added in our paleo brownies and PB. Sooooo delicious!!! Our sister in law makes an epic flourless chocolate cake with real Swiss chocolate and boy does it hit the chocolate spot. Chocolate covered strawberries and homemade whip cream are a fun idea too!🍓 Fitness - Anyone else’s family do Birthday burpees? 🙋🏻♀️ It’s simple, whatever age you are turning is the amount of burpees each family member does all together. Faith - Make sure to send your flowers while you can (literally & figuratively!) We’ll explain. Don’t wait to tell those special people in your life how you feel. Call out the greatness in others. Tell them what they are good at or what you appreciate about them. Fun Finds - Make sure to take advantage of all the birthday discounts! Some of our favorites are Madewell’s $25 off your purchase, Starbucks’ free drink and Aerie’s 20% off coupon. What are your favorite birthday discounts or traditions? ⏰Join us LIVE on Instagram every Saturday at 8:30am PST! 🐤Join our SG Birdie community on .

Mouth tape + TSA rant | Fashion, Food, Fitness, Faith, Fun Finds
1/28/23 Fashion - Raise your hand if you use the LTK app? It stands for Like to Know It. Bloggers post in the app and you can see click on their link in IG to be redirected directly to their LTK page and get all the details of their outfit, decorations, etc. It’s a great place to get ideas for outfits and inspiration. Food - Rhoda found this granola at a juice bar in Dallas from @larkellefarms. She’s been loving it and it’s made from all sprouted nuts which is much easier to digest. It’s only sweetened with maple syrup. Give it a try! Fitness - Have you tried taping your mouth shut at night? Sounds crazy right? But this way it forces you to breathe through your nose. Mouth breathing impacts facial development, teeth health, and can increase cognitive issues. It’s a big deal! Faith - We recently listened to Carly Patterson talk. If you were old enough to remember, she won the all around gold medal in the 2004 Olympics. She talked about following the sparks in your life. Those things that kinda set your soul on fire. What are those things that you’ve always had an interest in or that people have told you you’re good at? Follow that spark and go after it! Fun Finds - On our way to the airport last weekend as we were leaving Dallas, we stopped at @vitalitybowls and got acai bowls for the flight home. However, things didn’t quite go as planned. Watch until the end to get the full story. Let’s just say, TSA was very extra that day. ⏰Join us LIVE on Instagram every Saturday at 8:30am PST! 🐤Join our SG Birdie community on .

Happy 2023! | Fashion, Food, Fitness, Faith, Fun Finds
12/31/22 Fashion - Drumroll please….The color of the year is Viva Magenta! Should be interesting seeing that in stores. Do you clean out your closet seasonally? Some people clean out as they are putting away Christmas decorations. Other people do a big spring cleaning. Or do you give one thing away as you get new things? We are more on an as needed basis. Food - One thing we’re saying goodbye to is sugar. We still have raw honey, maple syrup or stevia, but we’ve noticed such a difference eating sugar over the holidays and just how we don’t feel very good so kicking it to the curb again. Rose made some delicious cauliflower cheese bread for Christmas Eve and it was a big hit! Think cheesy bread but paleo. It wasn’t heavy and was complemented by marinara. Here’s the recipe: Fitness -A new habit for 2023 is getting in an infared sauna more. It’s great for detoxifying, mental health, and it’s like your body is getting a workout in. A couple brands we like are SaunaRay and Heavenly Heat. Faith- Do you read the Bible through in a year? How do you read your Bible? There’s no wrong way. Rhoda has been looking into the Bible Recap daily reading plan. This is a chronological plan and you can find it on the Bible app if you search for Bible recap. Tara Leah Cobble has a daily 10 minute podcast that goes with it explaining the passage of scripture for the day. Rose is more of a Bible study girl. She’s reading one from Finds- Grocery Outlet does it again! Since going to Hawaii and having goji berries on our acai bowls, we’ve been saying we should have them more often but they are pretty spendy. This is where Grocery Outlet comes in with their amazing price of $7.99! They also have Hu Chocolate still and Late July salsa verde. Do you have a favorite planner? We’d love to hear what you use! Rose prefers planners, while Rhoda is trying the digital route this year. ⏰Join us LIVE on Instagram every Saturday at 8:30am PST! 🐤Join our SG Birdie community on .
