Exploring how to manage our energy, be it as a mother, a working mother or a health professional is one of the hardest things to navigate. We are conditioned to show up in service continuously, yet when we choose to look after ourselves... or put ourselves on the 'service schedule', there can often be perceptions or stories that it is a selfish act. In this episode, I explore and share with you my meditation that I use when trying to keep my energy ready to serve. This is a meditation I was gifted in my early years in practice, long before I had kids, and was one of the inclusions that I came back to after my burnout. I really hope this episode provokes some thoughts about self care, your miraculous energy, and how much loving on yourself is beneficial to all of those around you. However we determine our worth, it is great to stop and examine this concept. As a busy working mum, it is easy to fall into a societal trap of worth determination, and today I want to plant some seeds on exploring how we do determine our worth. What matters to us? This weeks episode see's the amazing Dr Lucy Burns from join us to chat about her health journey, her motherhood, and how she has changed her life dramatically by changing her mindset and how she eats. Like me, Lucy had a bit of a health crisis, and joined forces with the awesome Dr Mary Barton to forge a path of lifestyle medicine. She's a practicing GP, and runs online courses for busy humans wanting guidance to change their diet and mindset and step away from diet culture. I loved our chat. I hope you do too!
