Have you ever wondered if your people-pleasing tendencies are more about protecting yourself than helping others? In this episode, we uncover the surprising truth about people-pleasing and why it often stems from a hidden selfishness. By examining how this behavior develops and why it can feel so hard to break, we offer insights on shifting from people-pleasing to authentic self-expression. You’ll learn how this habit impacts your energy and relationships, and how releasing expectations can empower you to live more freely. Joining me on today's episode is Amy Natalie, a leadership and embodiment mentor that I absolutely fell in love with as a guest speaker in one of my mentorship groups! 37. Falling Out of Love With Fitness
I have battled a lot with being honest and transparent when it comes to this topic because I've felt like a fraud as a fitness and nutrition coach and struggling with this myself. In my college days, I loved training and would get super motivated to go to the gym and chase PR's and lift heavy shit consistently. Now… it's the furthest thing from something I truly enjoy doing and hasn't excited me for awhile. Feeling like this makes me feel like a fraud because, as a coach, I know the benefits of strength training. Today's episode is unpacking my thoughts around this topic in somewhat of a messy fashion because I'm still working it out and if you feel the same way, I want you to know that you're not alone. 33. The Many Layers of Grief: How We Mourn More Than Death
A recent family member passing brought a lot of emotions to the surface and, by the very nature of this show and its title, I wanted to speak on this topic of grief from its many perspectives and forms. See, we don't just grief for those who pass and move on to the next life, we also mourn past versions of ourselves. We mourn what we thought our life was going to be whether it was the location that we absolutely loved or the relationship we thought was going to last forever. Life isn't fair and it's okay to take all the time you need to go through the grieving process no matter what it is. I hope this episode inspires you to give the same level of support you would give a close friend through their grief, permission to feel all of the emotions that come along with grief, and that sometimes growth means the death of a previous identity. Time Stamps: (1:24) Talking About Grief (3:15) Grief and Death (5:03) Grief In Many Forms (7:45) Friend Back in Denver (10:43) My Move and The Grieving Process (15:03) The Loss of Identity (23:15) Giving Ourselves The Same Level Of Support (29:33) Permission To Feel Your Emotions --------------------- Interested In Working With Me?
