The Clean Sunscreen Revolution with Arielle Moody

The Clean Sunscreen Revolution with Arielle Moody
Wellness with intention is always my favorite kind, especially when it’s born from motherhood, advocacy, and a refusal to accept the status quo. In this week’s episode, I sit down with Arielle Moody, founder of Mama Sol, whose journey into clean sunscreen began during one of the most vulnerable and transformative seasons of her life: pregnancy. After discovering how many potentially harmful ingredients were hiding in everyday skincare products, Arielle set out on a deeply personal mission to create a sunscreen she felt safe using while carrying her unborn child. What she found along the way was a major gap in the market: mineral sunscreens that felt heavy, left a white cast, and were anything but luxurious. Drawing on her extensive background in beauty product development, from training for major cosmetic brands to leading formulation and packaging innovation, Arielle combined science, safety, and sensory experience to create a sunscreen that protects, nourishes, and elevates daily skincare into a wellness ritual. This conversation goes far beyond SPF. We explore skin health as a metabolic and inflammatory conversation, the concept of “inflammaging,” and why daily sun protection is one of the most overlooked longevity tools. If you’ve ever questioned what’s really in your skincare, wondered how to choose safer products during pregnancy, or wanted sun protection that feels like a spa treatment rather than a chore — this episode is for you. Bio: While pregnant with her first child, shocked by how many toxic ingredients were lurking in everyday products, and after trying dozens of natural mineral sunscreens, Arielle was determined to create one that 1) didn’t make her immediately want to wash her face, and 2) didn’t leave a white cast on her skin. Oh, and it needed to be something she looked forward to using daily. No biggie. As Mama Sol’s product development whisperer, Arielle has been immersed in the beauty industry her entire adult life. Starting as a beauty sales trainer for Smashbox, Dr. Perricone, and Bite Beauty, then rising to become the head of product development for Skinn Cosmetics and, most recently, the head of sales for a leading cosmetics packaging and formulation company, she’s always known one thing—that she would one day create her own product, something truly different that had never been seen before. In This Episode, We Discuss: The connection between sun exposure, skin inflammation, and “inflammaging” How pregnancy sparked Arielle’s mission to create a non-toxic sunscreen The hidden ingredients in conventional sun care products Why mineral sunscreen often fails — and how Mama Sol changed that Creating a product that feels luxurious enough for daily use The story behind the name “Mama Sol” Climate-conscious formulation and packaging efforts Common misconceptions about sunscreen safety and effectiveness The cumulative skin damage most people don’t realize is happening How to incorporate sun protection seamlessly into your wellness routine Arielle’s personal skincare and daily wellness rituals Resources: Website: YOUR BEST FREEBIE - For anyone listening, you can use ELEVATEDMAMA15 at to receive 15% your first purchase (free shipping is included)! Self-belief Is Your Superpower with Tory Archbold #elevatedfriends
I am joined this week by my dear friend and one of the most empowering women I know, Tory Archbold. Tory is one of Australia’s top female entrepreneurs and CEOs, she knows that just as our stories have the power to shape us, so we have the power to shape our stories. Having attained global recognition through her businesses Torstar and Powerful Steps, she is now stepping back to connect with the powerful stories of extraordinary women—their highs and lows, near misses and great wins. We sat down to talk about how to elevate your life, business and brand strategies and her new book, “Self-Belief is your Superpower” launching in April. Bio: There is a reason why Tory Archbold is one of the most connected women in Australia. As CEO and Founder of Powerful Steps, host of podcast Powerful Stories and founder of brand and communications agency Torstar, it comes as no surprise that Tory has met some of the world’s most influential celebrities, entrepreneurs, and CEO’s. But the reason for Tory’s long-lasting connections is not for the many accolades she has under her belt. It’s because of her authenticity and genuine care she shows for others. Through sharing her story of survival, of being a single mother determined to succeed, she has encouraged others along the way. Believing in herself when no-one else would, at just 24 years old Tory started her career in the deep end, founding Australia’s most high-profile brand and communications agency, Torstar. Torstar didn’t get its reputation from just hype, the results were real. With her trademark passion and integrity Tory led her team of 22 staff and 10 freelancers to deliver award winning work with the world’s top-performing brands, celebrities and influencers including Zara, Nespresso, Seafolly, Sukin and Victoria’s Secret. Impressively Tory’s launch event for Zara in Sydney clocked over 22,000 people in attendance and was Zara’s most successful retail launch event to date. Always one to trust her intuition, after 20 years Tory knew that it was time to start a new chapter. Her ah-ha moment came after she launched 3 of America’s most powerful brands into Australia. At a sold-out launch event for Drew Barrymore’s brand Flower Beauty organised by Tory, Drew shared with the crowd about how she survived tough times. Watching, Tory thought, ‘lady, I see you and raise you five. You know what, I’m done.’ Shutting the doors to her agency in 2019, Tory launched Powerful Steps, an online community and platform for women making global impact. With five programs available, Tory nurtures and encourages C-suite level women to own their story, step into their power and take their careers to the next level. Through Powerful Steps Tory has helped transform the lives of over 600 women, including two recipients of ‘Telstra Business Woman of The Year’, board directors, media executives and COO’s. Top performing Australian corporates Salesforce, Commonwealth Bank and Optus also trust in Tory to speak to their leadership and sales teams, bringing inspiration and wisdom to their corporate events.
