He is a 22 year cancer survivor and has lived with Parkinson’s disease for the last 20 years. His books, A Handbook for Life and A Handbook for Happiness, and audio CDs, 10 Things Every Person With Parkinson’s Must Know and 10 Things Every Caregiver Must Know, have helped many people achieve goals, overcome obstacles, and enjoy their lives. Richard has traveled across the United States and Canada as a keynote speaker inspiring others with his personal story of overcoming challenges in his life. At age 19 he had a life changing automobile accident that put him in and out of hospitals for ten months. In 2003 he was diagnosed with prostate cancer and two years after his cancer diagnosis he was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease. Despite those challenges Richard has started 3 computer companies, has black belts in multiple martial arts, and has his commercial pilot’s license. Richard’s biggest message to others is that regardless of life’s challenges, everyone is in control of their own health and happiness.
