She received her B.A. from Millersville University of Pennsylvania and my M.A. and Ph.D. from the University of Virginia. Dr. Kurtz has authored numerous journal articles and book chapters on happiness, and with bestselling author Sonja Lyubomirsky, she is co-author of , a workbook for putting happiness strategies into practice in everyday life. Her first solo-authored book, , was published in June of 2017 by Oxford University Press. With the Institute for Brain Potential, Dr. Kurtz offers seminars on happiness and well-being to health-care professionals nationwide.
