Luckily, holistic approaches exist to increase your mobility, reduce pain and swelling, and build your knee strength. In many cases patients who opt for natural solutions can avoid knee surgery entirely or significantly delay it. The key is to move with confidence. Most people think that moving joints further damages their knees. This concept is wrong. By moving your joints, you are lubricating them and making them healthier. The more sedentary you are, the higher your health risks are. You can change your lifestyle. You can jump from a sedentary life to a place where your health is a strength or a superpower. In this episode I share the key core ingredient to losing weight and gaining an ideal weight for a healthy long life. I suggest creating and maintaining a new body image for yourself. It starts with one step, visualizing how you want to feel and act in your new body. It is important you keep that in your mind and repeat it over and over again so it becomes part of your unconscious identity. This avoids you from falling back into the “yo-yo cycle” and gaining weight again. She reveals how the Pill is changing women all around the globe, for better and worse. The birth control pill (also called "The Pill") is a daily pill that contains sex hormones. Many women go on the pill for pregnancy prevention without knowing what else it can do to their body. For a long time it has been ignored and gone unstudied. Research has proven the pill impacts a whole lot of cells at once, many of which are in the brain. This influences attraction, sexual motivation, hunger, eating patterns, emotion regulation, and friendships. It also alters your stress response and affects your choice of mate selection. The three core pillars of The Wescombe Method are: think, feel and do. Each core pillar includes three health performances. “Belief” belongs to the core pillar “think”. Having said this, what you believe becomes your thoughts, your thoughts influence how you feel and ultimately influence what you do. Beliefs change the way you feel about yourself, everyone and everything. If you want to live a healthy life, you need to look into your beliefs and identify them. There are limiting beliefs and empowering beliefs. Limiting beliefs are those that prevent you from getting the most out of your life. Empowering beliefs are those that make you live a healthy and happy life. You can remove beliefs, reset limiting beliefs with empowering ones, adopt new beliefs and take empowering beliefs to the next level. Research has shown that one domino can knock over another domino that is 1.5 times its size. If you line up many dominoes in a row and hit the first one, the rest will instantly topple in a domino-effect. Support Mum to Put Her Self-Care First and Thrive!
What about MUM!? Mothers self-worth is determined by their selflessness. Society tends to celebrate the fact that women and mothers nurture everyone else before themselves. Instead, society needs to support and encourage mum to value herself. Most mums put everybody and everything else first to the detriment of their own wellbeing. Sleepless nights, long work hours, social responsibilities, and everything in between all add up to ensure that most mums are in a perpetual state of exhaustion and overwhelm. Without self care physical symptoms like pain, fatigue, depression and anxiety start to appear. Inevitably, mums get to see medical professionals that not only treat them like another number but prescribe rest and medication making things worse. I want to prevent this. My mission is to help women put themselves first and give them a place of nurturing and loving support. My desire is to help them get into the best shape of their lives so they can live healthier for longer. At Best Body I get to know people from a holistic perspective, delivering better client experience with lifelong results. As a team we are working to create real generational change for women and girls. We want kids seeing parents putting self-care first. When they become parents they will be naturally conscious doing all that is best for their body to live happily and to the fullest. When self-care drops down to a weakness or a problem, mothers must know there is a community that supports them and helps nurture them back. Self-care must turn into mums superpower. How Setting Simple Goals Each Day can Change Your Life
In this episode I talk about how setting one simple goal each day turns into simple habits creating a domino effect that can change your life. At some point in your childhood, chances are that you tried this game: Line up a bunch of dominoes in a row and then knock one over. Soon the rest of the dominoes topple in a chain reaction. Research has shown that a domino can knock over another one that is 1.5 times its size. One domino the size of a tic tac could tumble a whole building. If you feel overwhelmed and don’t know what to do with your health, at Best Body we help you find that first small and simple domino that will hit the next. Once you take that first step, we celebrate the positive little green force you have done for yourself and start to build and grow on that, getting you back on track. That first tiny domino is what I call a small goal. You need to find that one small and easy thing that you can do that is going to have a snowball effect each day.
