The AMP (Al Mega Podcast) – Edwin Carrion
In this episode, Al Mega interviews Edwin Carrion, a Marine, entrepreneur, mentor, coach, and God-made millionaire. Garrion is originally from somewhere else, and he talks about taking advantage of the American dream. He emphasizes that no one is truly self-made, and that success is only possible with the help of mentors and God. Garrion shares his story of how he achieved success, and provides valuable insights into perseverance, determination, and goal-reaching. The speaker began by clarifying that their entrepreneurial journey began at 15 years old. At that age, a friend offered them a DJing job at a party for $200 for 4 hours, which was a lot of money for a 15 year old. As a result, they started a DJ business at that age, which they kept up until they were 19. At 19, the speaker changed lanes and started something else. The speaker joined the Marines at the age of 19 and served four and a half years. After leaving the Marines, he was able to take advantage of the rising real estate market and eventually made millions. However, due to inexperience he lost it all and went bankrupt at the age of 27. This was a huge blessing for him because it made him realize that money was not the key to happiness and he needed to focus on fulfilling his life. He was able to pick himself up within a few months and realized the importance of being humble and giving credit to others. Edwin is an entrepreneur who believes in constantly improving and learning. He had success without a mentor or training. After the market crashed in 2007, he and a friend started a gold buying business which grew into a franchise model with 14 stores in the US and was making millions a month. In 2014, he retired at 31. However, he soon wanted to do something else and started building multimillion dollar mansions to fulfill people’s American dream. He loves this business because it has a purpose. The AMP (Al Mega Podcast) – Dustin Bogle
Dustin Bogle is a sales expert, multi-location gym owner, and former professional wrestler. He joined Al Mega on the Al Mega podcast to talk about his journey to success, and the challenges he faced. He originally hails from Southern California and was heavily influenced by Mexican culture, including lucha libre shows. During high school, he was invited to a gym by a friend and got into shape. This led him to sign up for a wrestling school, where he learned how to do clotheslines, drop kicks, and other moves. He shared his secrets to perseverance and determination, and his advice for how to reach goals. He encouraged people to make others accountable and to take the necessary steps to handle their business. Dustin was talking about his experience as a professional wrestler going by the name Diablo for ten years. He was a heel, and he would come out to the matches with fire all over his gear and hit soda out of people’s hands. He realized that this was not what he was meant to do, and so he opened his eyes to signs telling him to stop. During the weekdays, he was a personal trainer to pay his bills, and eventually he left wrestling altogether. Dustin was a professional wrestler for a short time, and he was not making any money. He was only getting paid $20 a show, which didn’t even cover his gas. The speaker noted how difficult wrestling is, and that he had to pay his dues by performing for free and sometimes even losing money on food and gas. After some time, the speaker realized that he was not built for the late-night lifestyle, the unhealthy food, and the environment of drugs and infidelity he was surrounded by and thus decided to quit pro wrestling. He realized that the energy of the environment was not something that resonated with him and that it was going against his soul. Dustin had two major takeaways from his time as a professional wrestler: the mental effort and strength required to handle what goes on in the wrestling world, and the damage on his body he wasn’t always able to control. He experienced physical injuries from taking chair shots and getting thrown through tables, and was even told he had the back of an 80-year-old in his twenties. After experiencing the transformative effects of getting fit and losing 60 pounds of body fat, Dustin decided to become a trainer and help others achieve the same. People began to tell him that he was helping them gain a newfound confidence, and this was when he decided to invest his full focus into fitness. He believes that until people experience the immense benefits of being healthy, fit, and strong, he can’t overstate how amazing it feels. Thank You for Watching / Listening! The AMP (Al Mega Podcast) – Charles Richard Smith
Charles Smith is an inspiring survivor, warrior, author, and motivational coach. On the Al Mega podcast, he talks about his journey to success and the challenges he faced along the way. He reveals his secrets to perseverance and determination, and provides valuable insights into what it takes to reach one’s goals. Charles is originally from New York and he wore a Batman suit, jacket, and tie for the first time at Toy fair in New York, which caused people to stop him and take pictures. He talks about his journey and the lessons he has learned, including how to persevere and stay determined. In doing so, he hopes to inspire others to find the best of themselves. Charles is from Worcester, Massachusetts, but some people call it Warchester. His father was an entrepreneur, owning multiple nursing homes and land in the area until one day it all disappeared. Charles is unsure what happened, but knows his father had to sell the house and other possessions, and his grandfather had to build a duplex for the family to live in. Charles wishes he could figure out the story behind it all, and his friend reassures him that he will because he’s Batman. His mother passed away from an overdose, leaving Charles and his father living in the duplex. In this conversation, the speaker recounts their childhood in which they moved around Texas and Arizona with their father, who was a chef on a Navajo reservation and ran a gas station and owned a food truck. Their father was thirty years older than their mother, prompting the speaker to jokingly refer to him as a “cradle robber”. The speaker’s father eventually passed away suddenly when the speaker was eleven, leaving the speaker feeling shocked and uncertain. Despite the hardships, the speaker’s father maintained an entrepreneurial spirit, inspiring the speaker to do the same. The speaker is recounting the story of how, at age 11, he came home from school one day and noticed that something was wrong with his father. He asked to stay home from school, and his father refused. The speaker then stuck his finger down his throat to induce vomiting and stayed home. His father passed out twice in the same hour, so the speaker ran to his neighbor’s house and asked for help to get his father to the hospital. His father passed away with the speaker holding his hand. The speaker then spoke about how he acted out in his youth and got into drugs until his aunt told him to get a job or not come back. He then joined the military, as his grandfather, mother, and uncles were all veterans of the Vietnam War. Thank You for Watching / Listening! I appreciate your support! The AMP (Al Mega Podcast) – Elizabeth Mikotowicz
This episode features Elizabeth Mikotowicz, an inspiring young woman who has overcome a variety of challenges, including prison, addiction, domestic violence, and traumatic brain injury. Elizabeth was born in Quincy, Illinois and given up for adoption at birth to a couple in Brooklyn, New York. Eventually, her father got a job at the University of Maine and the family moved to the Bangor area. Despite having a loving childhood, Elizabeth started to struggle with mental health issues at around the age of 12, which were often misdiagnosed. She has since persevered through her hardships and is currently in the process of writing a book, opening a fashion brand, and pursuing her passion for art. Elizabeth recounts their experience of growing up high functioning autistic and struggling with bipolar medication that made them worse. At the age of late teens or early twenties, they entered into a domestic violence relationship and experienced a head injury so severe that the skull was showing and the muscle had to be sewn back together. The doctor warned them against any makeup or washing their hands near the wound due to the risk of blindness or brain death. They were prescribed opioids, but upon discovering they were pregnant with their son, they had to go to a pain clinic. The speaker recounts a traumatic experience in which she was forced to take opioids while pregnant against her will. She explains that she was treated differently by medical professionals due to being on state insurance, and was even threatened with Child Protective Services because her blood pressure kept skyrocketing. After she had her son, the trauma and abuse she was experiencing worsened, leading her to take more and more opioids in order to cope. She explains that this was due to the flooding of dopamines that opioids caused, and how it eventually made her body want more and more. In the end, this lead to an addiction. Elizabeth shares her story of abuse at the hands of her partner. She experienced physical abuse such as being held captive, beatings, and strangulation. She attempted to leave after a year of abuse, but was held hostage and threatened. She eventually escaped and went to a battered women’s shelter, only to be told that she wasn’t crying enough and was not believed. She was eventually able to provide evidence of her abuse and was told that her situation was so dangerous that it put other women in the shelter in danger. She also discussed how some victims of abuse are turned away from shelters if they are not providing something of value, such as snitching out a pimp. This is a problem that needs to be addressed in order to better protect victims of abuse. Website: Twitter: IG: Thank You for Watching / Listening! I appreciate your support! The AMP (Al Mega Podcast) – Jason Skeesick
Al Mega welcomes Jason Skeesick, known as the Entrepreneurial Evangelist, to the Al Mega Podcast. Jason is renowned for his motivating stories and his determination to help others reach their goals. Al Mega and Jason met on the Pop Match network, which is full of inspiring entrepreneurs. Al Mega praised Jason for his work and asked him about his origin and motivations in life. Jason thanked Al for inviting him onto the podcast and praised Alex from Pop Match for helping the community. Al Mega asked Jason what motivated him early in life, to which he replied that he was born and raised in a small town in central California and that his parents instilled in him the value of hard work and dedication. He said that his early motivations in life were to make a difference and that he wanted to do something that would make a positive impact on the world. Jason believes that with the right mindset and determination, anyone can achieve their dreams. The speaker is from outside of Chicago, where he spent most of his young life growing up in the suburbs. His biggest inspirations were his hardworking dad, who was a plumber, and his mother, who encouraged him to learn new things. He was exposed to a variety of hobbies, such as pottery, drawing, and poetry. At age 8, he was pulled out of regular school and placed in a behavior disorder school, where he learned what not to do and saw people in bad situations. He was the youngest and only student there, and was able to learn at his own pace. This gave him the confidence to pursue his own path as an entrepreneur. The conversation was about the path that the speaker took in life before becoming an entrepreneur. He talked about how he had always gone deep on the things that he was passionate about, such as snowboarding and cars, and how he only did jobs that were related to things that he was passionate about. The speaker then revealed that before he had his moment of clarity, he was not passionate about anything that was making him money. He mentioned that he joined the military, which gave him purpose and discipline, and allowed him to do what he said he was going to do, show up with discipline, and lead. The speaker began by describing his journey of transitioning from the military back into civilian life. He decided to pursue finance, becoming a banker, but found he was not good at it. At the same time, he started a small community CrossFit gym in Chicago with two other veterans. After a few years, he decided to focus on entrepreneurship and his passion for helping the CrossFit community, though it took seven years before he had 200 members and then another six months to get 300. Socials and more: Thank You for Watching / Listening! I appreciate your support! Episode 14 in an unlimited series! Brandon Lebowitz is a King SEO, helping small and medium-sized businesses get ranked at the top of Google using search engine optimization tactics and bringing in traffic via social media, paid ads, and more. Brandon is originally from Los Angeles and didn't have any plans to get into this type of work until he graduated from college with a degree in business marketing. After his first job he realized that websites and SEO were the future, and he began working at different advertising agencies as a director of SEO. When he wasn't working, he started his own company and eventually left his job to focus solely on SEO. He always had an entrepreneurial spirit and chose marketing as a way to learn how to market his own business one day. He jumped into the SEO world in 2007 and has been doing it ever since. The conversation is about Search Engine Optimization (SEO), which is a process of optimizing websites for search engines, specifically Google. SEO has the benefit of driving more traffic to a website, as it helps the website rank higher in the organic listings of the search engine. The organic listings are the 10 spots on the first page of Google, which are free. SEO can also be used to rank for keywords that the audience is searching for, which can result in a sale, lead, or whatever the website's conversion goal is. Additionally, SEO can be used to identify where the audience is searching, such as social media, Amazon, Yelp, etc. Search Engine Optimization (SEO) helps businesses get free traffic from Google and other search engines. To track website analytics and understand beneficial keywords to use, it is important to install Google Analytics on the website, and verify it, in order to get data about traffic. Backlinks are a key component of SEO; these are clickable links from other websites that point to yours. Quality backlinks are important as Google looks for relevancy and sites related to what you are doing. It is important to be careful with backlinks as wrong ones can harm the website's ranking. The conversation discussed the relevance of good backlinks to domain authority and page rank. While domain authority is an arbitrary number made up by the company Moz, page rank was used in the past to measure the impact of backlinks, but it is no longer used by Google. The speakers discussed how third party tools can be used to boost domain authority but don't accurately reflect the impact of backlinks on SEO rankings. They discussed the impact of AI on SEO and concluded that social media doesn't have a large impact on SEO rankings for a normal website. So got to keep yourself top of mind and have those multiple touch points to get people to want to trust you and want to buy off of you. So help out with those aspects of digital marketing and then just making sure everything looks good through analytics, that everything's working properly, and that you're getting what you're looking for in terms of conversions. Yeah, mobile first desktop secondary, if anyone's building a new website, because the majority of your traffic comes from mobile, so over half traffic nowadays comes from mobile, but every website is different. So that's where you got to look at Google Analytics and see, where is my traffic coming from? And Google Analytics will show you where your visitors are coming from. Are they coming from mobile? Desktop, tablet? They're coming from mobile. You could break it down to iPhone X Galaxy, the Pixel, to iPhone 14. You got to optimize your website for conversions. So for SEO, you got to optimize your website for Google, but for conversions you have to optimize your website for people making sure it loads quickly. It's easy to navigate through. All the important information is at the top of the screen. So whatever you see on a screen, that's called above the fold. Once you start scrolling, that's below the fold.. And 70% of people never scroll or swipe. So the most important thing to get people to convert is have all your print information at the top of your page. Have your call to action needs to be at the top. People have to scroll down. You already lost over half your visitors, so it should say add to cart right there. If it's ecommerce, if you're a service based business, your phone number, your email address, a form needs to be right there. And that's where you need to be. You don't need to be on the most popular social media sites because if that's not where your audience is, it's not going to do any good for you. Like myself, I'm an SEO company. Not many people are really going on TikTok looking for SEO. Some people might, but the majority of people are going to go on Google or Yelp looking for me, and then they're going to check me out for social proof on social media to make sure I have reviews and testimonials and status updates to make sure I'm still in business as a way to social proof you. But in general, most people find me on Google and then check me out on social media for service based businesses, ecommerce, you can get away with social a little bit easier where it's like showcasing products, especially if it's something new, that's a great way to showcase it. Social doesn't have too big of an impact. Like to Google, a normal website should have social media. So you should have a facebook, twitter. Instagram. YouTube. LinkedIn. But Google is pretty much blocked from all social media. They don't see how many followers, how much engagement you're getting. But they do see referrals. So they do see if Facebook brings you a lot of traffic to your website. That's a positive signal, so called social signals, where they're not looking at how many followers, how active you are, they're just looking at how much traffic is being sent from those social media sites to your website. The AMP (Al Mega Podcast) - Kim Hamer
Kim is the founder of 100 Acts of Love and an author who has turned her personal tragedy into something meaningful. She is originally from New York and currently resides in LA with her three children. Kim's story starts with her husband's diagnosis of cancer. She recounts how it took him three weeks to realize something was wrong, and even then he was in denial that anything was wrong. Kim shares her story of dealing with her husband's cancer and turning it into something positive with her organization, 100 Acts of Love. Through her organization, Kim helps those who are dealing with loss and tragedy to find a sense of hope and positivity. She encourages others to embrace their grief and use it to create a meaningful life. In this conversation, the speaker talks about her husband's hard-headedness, particularly when it came to the fact that he was having difficulty breathing. She then explains that they went to their regular doctor, who suggested they get X-rays. After they went to get X-rays, the doctor told them that he thought her husband had cancer. The X-ray showed tiny white spots all over his chest, and the doctor informed them that this was why he was having difficulty breathing. The speaker and her husband were both shocked and devastated by the diagnosis. The doctor was very concerned and wanted to start the process of treatment immediately. It was a large B cell lymphoma that had spread to other parts of the body and was stage four cancer. People often offer to help in times of crisis, but the phrase if you need anything, let me know is not helpful as it is too vague and puts the burden on the person in crisis to ask for help. After beating cancer once, the speaker's husband got cancer again and died four months later. The speaker was angry and resentful at her husband for putting her in this position, but the two eventually reconciled. When her husband died, the speaker was overwhelmed and felt powerless, so she wrote a book about how people can help those in crisis. Her neighbor Nate gave her an example of how to help; he changed the oil, washed, and filled the car with gas. This small gesture relieved a lot of stress for the speaker. In 2009, the author had a friend, Nate, who was diagnosed with cancer. During this time, the author noticed that people often wanted to help but didn't know what to do. This inspired her to write a book to give people the tools to support those going through a difficult time. She tells the story of Nate often to illustrate how helpful small actions can be. She wants people to know that they are not powerless and can make a difference by loving up on the person who needs it. Instagram: LinkedIn: Website: Book: Thank You for Watching / Listening! The AMP (Al Mega Podcast) – Daniel MacQueen
Dan MacQueen is an inspiring entrepreneur and motivational coach who has persevered and overcome a traumatic brain injury. On the Almega podcast, Dan shares his story of how he overcame his injury while living in London, England in 2014. Dan was working in tech and moved to London after completing a master's degree in Sweden. He faced a range of challenges in his recovery, but he persevered and is now helping others to achieve their goals. Dan is an up and coming speaker and uses his story to inspire and motivate others to never give up and to reach their dreams. Dan was enjoying life in London when he started to get severe headaches and his vision would go black for a few minutes. He visited the emergency room twice and was told to get his eyes checked by an optometrist. During the exam, the optometrist stopped and gave him a sealed envelope, telling him to go directly to Moorfields Hospital. At Moorfields, the tests were escalated and he was sent to Cherry Cross, where it was discovered that he had a dangerous build-up of pressure in his brain caused by a non-cancerous tumour. Dan was rushed to the hospital with an emergency brain surgery due to a cyst that burst and caused a brain hemorrhage. They were in a coma for four weeks and when they woke up, they had lost the ability to speak. They pointed to their brother and asked for a pen and paper to write down Get me out of here and then had to relearn how to walk, talk, and smile again. They were alone in London when the incident occurred, but their family came when they were in a coma. The speaker also remembered a dream they had while in a coma of being on a submarine with a massive aquarium, not understanding why it was there since it was underwater to begin with. Dan was in a coma for months and when he woke up, his leg had frozen at an angle and he was in a wheelchair. He had to wear a splint to help it work again, but it was incredibly painful. It took him 45 minutes to get into the wheelchair and he had to gradually get faster until he was able to do it in 30 minutes. He used to be able to play lots of sports, but now he was in a wheelchair and it was a difficult battle to get back to walking. The speaker expressed that it was frustrating as all hell and asked about the emotional moments during this time of difficulty. The AMP (Al Mega Podcast) - Vinnie Potestivo
Vinny Potestivo is an award-winning media adviser and editor-in-chief of I Have a Podcast. He has worked with top stars and businesses, teaching people how to use their brand to reach their goals. He chose the name Amp for his company, Vinny Forte Entertainment, as an homage to audio having a moment in the industry. Vinny talks about his journey and his early inspirations, where he is from and how he got to where he is. He talks about his website VPE TV and the Verified Podcast Exchange, and how he came up with the Amp name. He shares tips on how to level up and reach one's goals and encourages listeners to be inspired by those who have dared to dream big and make it a reality. The speaker is from Staten Island, New York and has recently moved to Brooklyn. Despite the pandemic, the speaker has taken this opportunity to rebrand and reflect on their past experiences. They talk about their dream of working in Times Square, and how they were told as a child that they had no musical talent and couldn't join the band. However, this experience sparked a realization of their capability to do more than what people believed. They mention a casting they went to on 45th and Broadway for MTV's Spanking New Music Week, which was taking over Times Square. Ultimately, the speaker loves being from New York because they get to meet many different people from all over the world. In this conversation, Vinnie speaks about Marlon L. Wallen and recalls his experience of being picked out of the audience to ask Whitney Houston a question during one of her single releases. Wallen had worked hard to practice his question, and ended up asking Whitney what it was like recording with Mariah Carey on the Prince of Egypt soundtrack. Wallen then goes on to explain that he had taken out an ad on Backstage magazine while in college in order to find work in a financial institution that did theater. This eventually lead to him working at MTV, where he had the opportunity to cast artists such as Beyonce, Mandy Moore, Christina Aguilera and Britney Spears. Wallen reflects on how he never expected his dream of working in Times Square to lead to all the opportunities he was presented with. The conversation discussed the concept of building an audience and how it can be converted into a community. The example of Beyonce and Lady Gaga playing at music festivals was used to illustrate how an audience can be converted into a community. This is done by creating an experience that can be shared through content, social media, and podcasts. The conversation concluded that simply increasing visibility does not lead to discovery, rather it is the shareability of the experience that leads to discovery. His father had graduated from the University of Texas and was working for General Electric Credit in Puerto Rico. At the age of eight, he moved to Puerto Rico with his father. In order to get the money to buy the things he wanted, his father encouraged him to start a paper route. By the time he was twelve, he had built the biggest paper route in San Juan, Puerto Rico and was featured on the front page of the San Juan Star. He had to sell subscriptions and knock on doors in order to build his business. Marco shares his experience as a young entrepreneur. When he was 13, he started a newspaper delivery route and became a manager of a team of people who helped deliver the newspapers. After playing football in high school, he ended up selling the route for several hundred dollars. This experience taught him about building a business and having an exit plan. He then went on to receive a football scholarship at Commonwealth High School in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Marco, shares his story how he started out as a bus boy in a Mexican restaurant while still in high school. He later convinced his older brother, mother, and father to open a chain of Mexican restaurants. They ended up selling those restaurants to Taco Bell after five years. He then went on to open a nightclub with a partner before transitioning into the digital marketing space. He emphasizes the importance of learning the ins and outs of a certain industry before launching a business of your own and encourages people to leverage relationships and partnerships to make the most of their time. The AMP (Al Mega Podcast) – Claude Racine

The AMP (Al Mega Podcast) – Claude Racine
Al Mega welcomes Claude Racine, a dancer, social media influencer, and personal coach, to the program. She is a strong empowerment example for women. Claude explains that she was born in Montreal, Canada, but at age eight her father uprooted the family to Arizona where she learned English in two months. Seven years later, they moved to Arkansas. Claude is passionate about helping empower women to live the life they love. The conversation focused on the speaker's experience with dance, starting when they were nine years old in Arizona and continuing until age 38 in Los Angeles. They discussed how they were bullied for dating interracially in Arkansas and how their dad helped them move to Los Angeles to pursue a professional dance career. The speaker mentioned that they started with jazz, tap, ballet, hip hop, and tumbling and that jazz became their specialty, citing Michael Jackson and Paula Abdul as influences. They also touched on how Paula Abdul taught many stars today and how dancers often go underrated and misunderstood. Claude is a former dancer of eighteen years who was forced to make a career change after the 2020 pandemic shut down the entertainment industry. With the added stress of having her son in January of 2020, Globe found herself suffering from postpartum depression, anxiety, and suicidal ideation. To help her out of her depression, Globe found an opportunity to do direct sales of makeup and skincare online, transforming her Instagram into a place to share her postpartum journey and help other women. Through her career as a dancer, Globe had already gained a following and then further grew her reach with a fitness video for Beachbody and by being open and honest about her postpartum depression. Claude encourages all women going through a similar situation to implement one positive habit, such as washing their face in the morning, as a way to help them feel better and start to better their lives. They also chatted about how the speaker's relationship with her husband was affected by her becoming a new mom while feeling her worst. The speaker credits her husband for being there for her and encouraging her to take walks and work out even when she didn't feel like it. She acknowledges that while it was hard for both of them, it has made them stronger as a couple. The speaker also talks about her previous marriage of 25 years, saying that her heart still belongs there and that she will always be there for them no matter what. The conversation ends on the note that being responsible for someone else is a shared responsibility between a man and woman. @glowupwithclaude Thank You for Watching / Listening! One day. Speaking on stage, hopefully it'll professor something similar. Blessing the people with that energy and those wonderful words to empower them. Make them feel great. And, folks, you heard it again. Let me show up. Hit that instagram. She's presenting you a challenge at the end of this month, starting in March 1, and it's free. Your favorite four letter word that starts with F.. That's not bad. F-R-E-E. All right. Free. So I'm sure you all have all heard this. Motivation is fleeting, right? I'm not motivated every day, but I'm disciplined as fuck. And I choose purpose. I choose to show up for my clients, my following, my family. I choose to show up for them. Like, this isn't about me and how I feel today, and I'm tired and, oh, no, my cramps are bad. It's about connecting to a much deeper purpose and staying disciplined and staying aligned, aligned with where you are, wanting to go. Right there. Glow up with clothes right there. Honestly, it's also below. You could just go ahead and click away. Make it happen everywhere. Whether it's your phone tapping away your thumb, however you do it, get it done and do that. Follow right now and support an amazing entrepreneur with a mission to empower women, lead a healthier and better lifestyle. Find that happiness that life can bring in love, that self love.. Last thing here. How do you stay motivated? And what would you tell others in order for them to stay motivated? So nobody knows when they're young. Like, okay, week three of your cycle. We're a little bit mentally fucked because of the hormonal shifts, but nobody knows that. So we get made fun of. People are like, she's crazy. Watch out. She's on her period. Like, oh, no, it's EMS, but there's actual shit going on in your body. But the thing is, you can help those symptoms be less if you have proper nutrition and proper exercise.. So now I'm obsessed with just helping women change their whole lives and their mental health, too, by understanding what the fuck is going on in our bodies and not being like, I'm a tiny man. We are not. Like, our bodies are so much more complicated. Building muscle for women is so important, and not enough women do that. They're, like, spending all their time running, doing cardio. So I also got certified in functional nutrition because it was such a big piece to the puzzle that helped save me. So now I understand all the things about how gut health and liver health affect our hormones as women and why it is so much harder for us to lose weight and gain muscle and all the things we need to do to be able to stay on top of that. The AMP (Al Mega Podcast) - Kevin Palmieri
Kevin Palmieri is the CFO of Next Level University, a global top 100 podcast with over 1250 episodes and 750,000+ listens. He visited Almega's podcast to discuss his journey to success and the challenges he faced along the way. Kevin is a multitalented and inspirational individual who has shared his experience with others in order to help them reach their own goals. He originally hails from a small town called Uxbridge, Massachusetts, and encourages others to share their stories as nobody has the same life experience and someone may relate to it. Kevin believes that perseverance and determination are key to reaching one's goals, and that the journey may not be easy but it is always worth it. Two friends who used to live in the same neighborhood, Blackstone, have a conversation about podcasting. The speaker used to work in fitness and had a friend who invited him to be on his YouTube channel. This experience sparked an idea of making podcasting his career and he started his podcast when he was 26. He found the hour and a half conversation flew by in what felt like 15 minutes and that thought of being able to do that every day was the best life he could imagine. The speaker began podcasting with nothing but a laptop, microphone, and a lot of Googling. He started with a low barrier to entry, just wanting to know what equipment to get, and tried to improve as he went. His sixth episode was with a high school friend he hadn't spoken to in 10 years, and he had them come to his house for the recording. He found it hard to engage guests at first, but eventually he became comfortable and overcame the fear of what his friends would think. Nowadays, everything is virtual, but the speaker still misses the experience of having people in person. The conversation is about why consistency is important. The hosts discuss that having a business partner helps them stay accountable, but they also recognize that it’s not about them - it’s about their audience. They’ve also promised their audience free self-improvement content every day. The hosts discuss how consistency has made them better and has helped them use what they’ve learned in an impactful way. They also talk about an example of how consistency was important in terms of a pizza place being open - if it hadn’t been open, they wouldn’t have gone there and it would have lost their business. You figure out, like, what are you really good at? What are you not so good at? What are your limiting beliefs? What are your empowering beliefs? That level of understanding is huge. And I think when people start a business, they assume they have to learn about a business or they have to learn about YouTube. And you do. Yeah, man. And also, again, where can people listen to your podcast? And specifically you say it's every day. Is there a specific time that you drop? It's a small world. The podcast industry is not a big world. You're going to meet everybody if you go to a couple of events. But that was the last one. Yeah, it was really good. And I love meeting people. Again, I don't go to a lot of events because there's a lot going on in the business, so I tend to stay home and sit in the office. But I think I might be going to Colorado in August. For podcast movement? Yeah. We're very blessed, and we have brought people on our team that have been in the community because, you know, the core values are the same. You know, the core beliefs are the same. So, yeah, we've brought people on, and we're very blessed that they believe in the mission, they believe in us, and mostly they believe in their own unique ability to improve. I mean, that's why they want to be on the team, because they want to get the benefit of being around Alan and I, and we want to get the benefit of them helping us with a mission. The AMP (Al Mega Podcast) – Fitz Koehler

The AMP (Al Mega Podcast) – Fitz Koehler
A NEW Episode EVERY Wednesday! Al Mega welcomes Fitzgerald Kohler, one of America's most prominent and compelling fitness experts, to the show and they discuss her journey, how to inspire others to stay healthy, and how simple it can actually be. Kohler is originally from Fort Lauderdale, but moved to Gainesville, Florida for college and stayed there for graduate school. She grew up on the west side of Broward County, North Lauderdale, and was very scrappy. Kohler believes that staying healthy does not have to be a complicated process and can be quite simple. She is passionate about teaching others to stay healthy and live a more fulfilling life. The speaker grew up in a neighborhood that was not particularly wealthy but was full of kids who got into some trouble but were mostly good. They didn't have the burden of having their antics documented like kids do today. The speaker got into fitness when they blew out their knee playing soccer and their physical therapist recommended they join a gym. They lied about their age so they could join a women's gym and fell in love with the atmosphere. They quit their job at Cinnabun and applied to Spa Lady, where they got hired and asked to teach a class the same day. They found their passion and moved to the US where they taught classes at the student rec center. Fitz is a fitness instructor who started out teaching classes in college. He then took a job teaching on a cruise ship, which allowed him to travel to a variety of countries. After coming back to Gainesville, he auditioned and was hired as a fitness show producer. Through this experience, she learned he had transferable teaching skills and was able to help people through the show. This made her realize she wanted to reach a larger audience, so she started writing magazine articles. She was also a competitive kickboxer for 10 years, and this led to magazines featuring her. She reached out to a martial arts magazine and wrote an article titled How to Kick People in the Head, which incorporated strategy, strength, and flexibility. After the article was published, a man from Kentucky wrote her a letter thanking her for helping him kick someone in the head. This inspired Fitz to turn all of his focus on TV, radio, books, magazines, and keynote presentations. Fitness expert Tim Ferris outlines a simple approach to achieving a healthy lifestyle. Her advice is to move your body, watch what you put in your mouth, get good quality sleep and remove the cranky. She suggests avoiding any product labelled ‘diet’ or ‘weight loss’ as they are usually scams. She recommends moderating your food intake, and suggests visiting his website fitness.com for his free article on ‘Exact Formula for Weight Loss’. He advises a little of strength, cardio, flexibility and balance training every day, and suggests 8 hours of sleep as a goal. She also recommends naps as a great way of getting quality rest. So I got involved. I'm a sport performance expert. So I was teaching clinics at a major run series, and their race announcer said, gosh, you're so engaging and fun. You would be great at this. Do you want to announce a race with me in California in a few months? And so I connected with the race director. He said you're hired. I went over there. It's OC marathon in California. That was May of 2014. And that first year, I think we had 30,000 people, and within an hour of yelling, go, on, marathon morning, the race director came over and said, can you come back next year? Absolutely. So if you control those health factors that you can exercise, nutrition, quality, rest, you will make yourself more likely to hit remission, which leads to the cure, I think they say you're cured after you're cancer free for five years, but we're aiming for no evidence of disease. Exercise nutrition is proven to help you get there, and it is also proven to help prevent recurrence. And that's a big deal, is not having it come back, because having cancer once is plenty. I would say how much control you actually have. I mean, when someone looks you in the eye and says you have cancer, your whole world goes into spin cycle. It feels like everything's spinning out of control. But patients actually do have more control than you'd imagine. My first chapter of this book is called Control, and I guide people on Lassoing, the things that they can have control over. Through exercise and nutrition, you can actually make your body a hostile environment for cancer. So I'm not suggesting apples and oranges are the cure for cancer. You certainly should use western medicine because it's a highly effective, proven way to beat up cancer. But can you help that along? Exercise, it's nutrition, it's quality rest, it's complimentary care. How do you manage acupuncture massage therapy? Some people need sexual health counseling because their body has been changed or their partners are scared. And so this is the one. This is the one I want to put in the hands of every cancer patient on earth because I hit rock bottom. I was a weak, sickly skeleton at one point. And a little over a year after finishing chemo and all my other treatments, I ran the Boston Marathon. But this book takes all of my fitness expertise and all of my cancer experience and helps people rebuild their body well, a stop the decline. So once you're diagnosed, things start getting worse through fitness and nutrition, you can slow down that decline. And then of course, if you hit rock bottom or whatever goes on with cancer, you're going to have to do some work to get back to normalcy, to fitness, to health, to vibrancy and energy. The AMP (Al Mega Podcast) - Jimmy Clare
Welcome to THE A.M.P.! Jimmy Claire is an inspiring motivational speaker, autism advocate, author and founder of Crazy Fitness Guy. He joins Al Mega on the debut episode of The Al Mega Podcast to share his story of success. Jimmy is from Pennsylvania, where he still lives today. He enjoys reading, writing, playing video games and working out six to nine times a week, as well as spending time with friends and family. Growing up, Jimmy faced some difficulties as he was diagnosed with autism and faced various challenges that came with it. However, he never let this stop him from achieving his goals and has since become an inspiring figure to many. The speaker recounts the challenges he faced growing up, including being told he would never read beyond a second grade level, having to use braces or crutches to walk, and living with spinal stenosis in his neck. He notes that he is also autistic and suffered from eight years of bullying, which the school district did not take seriously until he reported it more than 100 times. He explains that he had to persist in his own way to report the bullying in spite of being told that asking for help was a sign of weakness. He decided to go the extra mile and avoid certain situations as a way of getting out of the situation. His experience has inspired him to become the leader he is today. The speaker was a victim of bullying in their school days. To avoid the bullies, they started skipping the bus and walking to their house instead. However, their special education teacher noticed something was off and followed up with the lead, realizing the speaker was lying. The speaker was happy that their teacher noticed and offered help without them asking for it, as they were too embarrassed to do so due to the bullying. To combat the bullying, the speaker persisted with their teachers, guidance counselor, and stood up to the bullies. They even did P90X twice later on in their life, which gave them the confidence to be able to stand up to their bullies. The speaker talked about how he lost thirty pounds with an infomercial he saw on TV with his dad. He also discussed how he didn't stand up to bullies until 11th grade, and how people were trying to dim his light. He then shared an article he read about a school district that had a fine for those found bullying others. The speaker then discussed his school district not listening, and how they used restraint on him in elementary school. He talked about the bruises he got from the restraint and how he still gets nightmares about the experience. He concluded by saying he didn't know if it was illegal or not at the time. He stressed to always consult a doctor before starting any kind of physical program. To learn more about Jimmy and Crazy Fitness Guy go to: Thank You for Watching / Listening! So the reason I came up with the name Crazy Fitness Guy is because just a few years ago, this person I met on Facebook and he told me that if you want to be part of the ranking in Google for autism and whatnot, you have to put autism in their name. And I said, well, people in the autism community doesn't want just to be known for autism. They want to be part of other people's communities and being known for other things. That's a hard decision. I think one of my favorite guests I have on, they're all my favorite but if I had to pick a favorite, it would be My. I have an author friend and who used to who was one of my first Twitter followers on Twitter, and I read almost all of his books. I mean, I read most of all of his books. I had to read his latest one, but his name is Luke Murphy. He's been on my show twice, and I always have a great conversation with him. Basically, my mission is to help educate people on and off the autism spectrum to live healthier lifestyles and also teach people about educating people about autism and sharing what other extra challenges that are on the spectrum or off the spectrum and just give people a unique voice and share that. Hey, I'm for the autism community. And I'm autistic. And it's not a disease. It doesn't need to be cured.. It's just a different way of learning. I don't think anyone learns the same way. It might be a little similar, but everyone learns at their own pace and everything. And I was like, what the hell? And I wasn't even able to talk in my own meeting because it's like these oval fellows, they might get offended by you, but this is a meeting about me, right? I'm not allowed to talk to but but but to overall answer your question, that's what inspired me to be a motivational speaker. Just to be is to help others to navigate through so that they don't have to go through all the crap I had to go through. Every year, my parents had to fight the school on certain things, getting me a one on one helper. And it's like, oh, Jimmy doesn't need a helper. And it's like, you guys are a bunch of morons. It's funny, though, in some of these meetings that I gone through, it was like watching a political debate because I was at the head of the table in these meetings, and I was like, this is good for Jimmy. So I said no. This is not good for Jimmy. And then it goes back and forth, and I'm like, Jimmy is right here at the head of the table thinking, get me.
