Can't Feel The Heat- Unofficial Coachella Podcast
CAN'T FEEL THE HEAT
close

Can't Feel the Heat launched in 2018 as a way for fans of the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival to connect with the music, memories, and the magic of Coachella year-round. Listeners will hear everything from tips on how to navigate the festival to talk about the best fine print bands on the poster (who may just end up topping the bill one day, as that happens at Coachella). The hosts and guests have logged many miles on the field at the Empire Polo Club in Indio. Connect with the show: @cantfeeltheheat Founder and host Tom Nash went to his first Coachella in 2009 and only missed once in 2018 due to becoming a father for the first time. He owns a boutique tech recruiting firm called Connected Hire. He is passionate about connecting with like-minded music enthusiasts, promoting music universally and Coachella specifically to uplift and grow our culture. Follow Tom: @tnashsd Co-host Vanessa Franko is an entertainment journalist in Southern California and has covered every Coachella since 2007, including all of the double weekends. A sepia sunset expands over the horizon. A town stuck in shades of greyscale. A brown light everybody sees and yet no-one acknowledges – a surreal film-noir horribly aware of its own existence as a film-noir - a radio show host overwhelmed with existential nonchalance. Listen to how this fictional Wretched City reacts to an ever-changing, ever-expanding America, both inside of its reach and outside of it… The citizens respond through their sensuous worldviews, through their corruption, through their paradoxical freedom, through their strange religions. James Harlot speaks from his lonely red microphone inside his booth – inside an ephemeral, cyclical city, tangible in its laws of reality and yet unlikely. You drive in at dusk, unsure of how you got here, overwhelmed by the red, cloudless sky. As the static clears you hear the station, you hear the strange greeting - Welcome to Wretched City Radio – 606Fm, the official radio of the capital city of Greater Amsterdam. A missing State… But can something be missing if it never was? The show features experimental production and mixing - as well as unusual integration of sound design and effects alongside original music. Our host, James Harlot, will have various guests joining - stay tuned! Written, performed, mixed and produced by David A. Marin - also known as “DAMARIN”. Music by DAMARIN. Cover art by Ramin Vahidi. Wretched City Radio is part of a mixed arts project, including a concept album, a novel (coming soon!) and various graphic designs. See more on our website.
