info_outlineIn this episode, I get the chance to spend time with Tina Forte who is running for Congress in New York's 14th district. She will be challenging incumbent, Alexandria Ocasio Cortez. Tina came to fame at the height of the Covid-19 shutdown. She was always vocal on her social media, but something about Covid and the disastrous policies of Governor Cuomo catapulted her daily videos onto the national stage.
We start off with her explaining how she came down with Covid-19 and her doctor immediately prescribed hydroxychloroquine. However, when she went to have it filled, her pharmacist said she could not because Governor Cuomo put an Executive Order in place, preventing it's use as a therapeutic. A few days later, Tina Forte was taken to the hospital where it took two weeks to recover. Since then, she has been a critic of Governor Andrew Cuomo, Mayor Bill Deblasio, Congresswoman Cortez and Dr. Anthony Fauci. She became a voice for common sense and pointing out the utter hypocrisy of those in office.
Tina goes on to share her thoughts on how she went from social media activist to deciding to run for office. She said she has been winning over people through her conviction and steadfast dedication of putting America first. We also touch on some of the other positions she is running on, including bringing back the funding of police, supporting the second amendment and supporting economic development policies. She wants to see both small and big businesses thriving in her district. She also is sick of seeing public schools used as a breeding ground for teaching racism and dividing our nation.
As an addendum to this episode, I happened to note this is episode 13 of seasion 3 -- or 3:13. It sounded familiar so I had to quickly consult the book of James and here is what that verse says:
Who is wise and understanding among you? Let them show it by their good life, by deeds done in the humility that comes from wisdom.
I found it poetic knowing that criticizing failed policies is easy, but few step up to actually do anything about it. Tina Forte is hoping she can show New York's 14th district she is attempting to leverage her wisdom in an effort to do good deeds for her constituents and for America.
