Your Genetics are a key part of my TUSHY Method (Y = Your genetics) and I'm so honored to have Dena Goldberg (also known far and wide as Dena DNA) joining me today! Some of the questions I know you have on your mind about genetics are: Nothing came back on my 23 & Me test. I'm good to go, right? Answer: Not so fast. 23&Me relies on "SNP testing," and only looks at "very specific bookmarks on very random genes." You'll want a more thorough test for preconception screening. I don't have any history of disease in my family. Do I need to do genetic testing? Answer: It's a good idea....

Today I’m joined by Dr. and we are talking all about how to stay in top mental health as a fertility patient. Fertility patients know that treatment feels like being on a roller coaster. I love that Dr. Glezer explains how to approach the whole picture of mental health: getting support, taking...

Dr. Geoffrey Sher is back, and we are talking about Intrauterine Insemination, or IUI. In 1982, Dr. Sher and his colleagues were the first to wash sperm, and then put it through a centrifuge process. I know you will enjoy learning more about IUI from him. We're sharing about how IUI works, and why it's recommended for some patients. We also discuss the differences between IUI and IVF, and when you might pick one over...

Tip 1: Be kind to yourself, and know that things like baby announcements, or nosy questions from family members are triggering to many fertility patients. That doesn't make it easier, but it might help to know you're not alone in the feelings. Some of these triggers can come from unexpected places.
Tip 2: To work through triggers: talk about the trigger, acknowledge the trigger, become aware of what triggers you, and then "figure out what works best for you to get past the trigger" when they do come up.
Tip 3: Allow yourself to feel your emotions. Don't push them aside. Find a trusted friend, family member, spouse, partner or coach to help you. They don't have to understand what you're going through, the key is that they are able to listen to you and let you talk.
Abbe Feder is a fertility coach and the founder and CEO of InCircle Fertility. She and her husband host the podcast Maculate Conception, and she is the creator of the (In)Fertility Cards of Affirmation.

Today, we're talking about what it means to be a fertility coach, how to find support for your journey, and how to develop more resiliency when facing the ups and downs of being a fertility patient.
