Season 17, Episode 4

Hosts: Mike Forman and Chris Doelle

Week 1 Reviews & Analysis
• Cuero vs. Yoakum: Cuero won a hard-fought game despite committing 3–4 turnovers and missing two fourth-down attempts. Shiner-transfer Jarvis Williams shined for Cuero with an 80-yard touchdown catch on the first play and a kickoff return TD. Day Bonner added ~12 receptions and a touchdown. Yoakum showed strong promise for Region 4 contention despite an inexperienced offensive line.
• Ganado 49, Tidehaven 6: The scoreboard suggested a blowout, but Tidehaven stayed competitive until late. Ganado looked remarkably sharp, particularly on special teams. A young, physically large Tidehaven squad struggled with critical dropped passes and turnovers.
• Rockport-Fulton 28, Goliad 0: Rockport-Fulton’s wing-T/slot-T offense delivered a surprising shutout victory.
• George West 40, Refugio 0: Refugio was held under 100 offensive yards in a shocking shutout loss. Refugio played without injured starting quarterback Matthew Perez and is currently battling a severe lack of roster depth.
• Shiner vs. Industrial: Shiner dominated and "thrashed" Industrial, setting up an anticipated regular-season collision with Ganado.
• Bloomington vs. Woodsboro: Bloomington logged an impressive high-scoring win.

Week 2 Outlook & Matchups
• Cuero at La Vernia: A physical road test for Cuero's explosive offense against a strong, run-heavy La Vernia slot-T team.
• Victoria East vs. Victoria West ("Crossroads Clash" / "Battle of the Boot"): West is favored on paper, but the emotional energy of this classic local rivalry is expected to bring out the best in both healthy squads.
• Boling at Ganado: Mike Forman will cover this game live. Boling’s wing-T offense presents a highly physical matchup challenge for Ganado's defense.
• Edna at East Bernard: East Bernard enters the game reeling from a local community tragedy where a young girl was killed in an accident, yet they remain highly competitive after defeating Sweeney.
• Mexico City at Calhoun: A unique international matchup set up by Calhoun head coach Stephen Herzer via his past Cal Allen connections.
• Flatonia at Louise: A test for Louise under high-energy, strength-focused head coach Cameron Ma.
