BIO
Sharla Lee (Schults) fulfilled her childhood desire to become an educator, graduating from Troy University, Troy, AL. Upon graduation, she began teaching high school chemistry and mathematics in Alabama, then a move to Ohio led her to the middle school classroom. After four years, she ventured outside educatin and began a second career in the railroad industry.
Sharla reentered the educational field afte ran eleven-year break, and her experiences from her railroad career provided a real-world connection to the classroom. She worked with Special Olympics and was instrumental in establishing Exchange Club youth organizations in three high schools located in Panama City, Florida. Sharla's last year in the classroom involved working with teens in an at-risk dropout prevention program. While involved in this endeavor, she introduced a Poetic Math Challenge, which uncovered her passion as a poetic mathematician and a new formula for success.
In 2001, Sharla once again left the classroom but remained in the field of education with Beacon Educator in the Bay District School System, writing curriculum and providing professional development for teachers across the state of Florida. She semi-retired in 2008, at which time she became an Online Learning Specialist for Beacon
Her previouos books include: Echoes (2004), Remembering (2009), and Awakenings (2012). Upcoming books include: A Touch of Catnip, Voices in Nature, and Buzzin': a children's title. Also be on the lookout for Catnip Short Stories and Voices from the Crowd.
Sharla resides in Florica with her calico Norwegian Forest cat, Foxie. She enjoys playing golf, listening to music and walking in nature. Her most enjoyable moments are spent with family and grandchildren in which she gathers inspiration for her next writing ventures.
