Murder Beyond the Mountains (Original Air Date: January 14, 1946)
Set during the period when the world believed Sherlock Holmes was dead, this episode follows Holmes (disguised as the Norwegian explorer Sigerson) as he treks through the Himalayas. While seeking passage to Tibet, he is rescued from a blizzard by a missionary and becomes embroiled in a high-stakes power struggle involving a local Chinese governor and imperial diplomats. When the governor is murdered, Holmes must solve the crime to secure his own safety and continue his journey to meet the Dalai Lama.
The Telltale Pigeon Feathers (Original Air Date: January 21, 1946)
Inspired by Conan Doyle's "The Adventure of the Greek Interpreter," this original radio script features Holmes and Watson investigating a mysterious case where pigeon feathers serve as a critical clue. The story involves a peculiar kidnapping and a series of cryptic events that require Holmes's sharpest deductive skills to untangle. It is noted for its fast-paced plot and was one of many original scripts written by the team of Anthony Boucher and Denis Green.
