Last week, we met Jimmy, who had just returned to America from England, and was smitten with a girl he met, kind of. Their eyes met, but they never spoke. On returning to New York, Jimmy’s flat was broken into by Spike Mullins, who Jimmy took a liking to. Spike and Jimmy then broke into the home of Mr. McEchern, the grafting chief of police, and the father to the enigmatic girl Jimmy saw on the steamer.
