This week, Byron talks with Steve "the Shovel Man" Zaragoza, co-host of Dynamic Banter (formerly of SourceFed and Cloverfeels), about his horror anthology audio drama "Gray Bones in a Grave," why festival horror isn't what it used to be, and an intriguing game of horror this-or-that that somehow ends with a modern cult classic on top. Patrick Brice returns to Frightday to talk "The Creep Tapes" Season 3, twelve and a half years after Creep premiered at SXSW and turned Mark Duplass's Peachfuzz into an unlikely horror icon. We get into what it feels like to create a character people are tattooing on themselves, how Season 3 finally nails down a few pieces of the lore (without letting the wolf out of the bag completely), and why this year pushes Peachfuzz out of the cabin and onto a houseboat and a private plane. Patrick also breaks down the pared-down five-person crew, why he's usually the one holding the camera, and how a...

Parapsychologist Lisa Puzo Strickland joins us for a wide-ranging, unrestrained conversation about the thread she sees running through everything: consciousness. From precognitive dreams she started having at fifteen, while attending a private Baptist school in the middle of Los Angeles, to a PhD in philosophy and parapsychology and a deep dive into the UAP/NHI field, Lisa makes the case that psi, nature, non-human intelligence, and even brain-computer interfaces are all wired to the same source. The through-line is fear, and what to do with it. Lisa's refrain, "you don't prepare someone for...

ABOUT THIS EPISODE
The finale of Frightday's four-part investigation into the 1965 death of journalist Dorothy Kilgallen, found dead in a third-floor bedroom she never used, with her JFK assassination file missing. Byron and Kelly weigh each named suspect against motive, means, and opportunity, cover the recently declassified files that touch the case, and lay out the pattern of witness deaths the HSCA itself called statistically remarkable.
THE SUSPECTS
- Carlos Marcello, New Orleans boss, the CAMTEX prison recordings, and the Camp Street connective tissue to Oswald
- Ron Pataki, the much younger songwriter, possible handler, and the What's My Line hotel-key signal
- The CIA, Mark Lane's warning, the Dulles grudge, and the Joannides personnel file
- The FBI and J. Edgar Hoover, the dossier opened in 1959 and the files removed after her death
- Richard "Dickie" Kollmar, the widower, the matching death certificate, and the mother's accusation at the funeral
- H.L. Hunt, Lifeline radio, the Dallas Morning News ad, and the Murchison party
- LBJ, Madeleine Brown, and the Billy Sol Estes testimony
- Roger Stone, for completeness and a stone
CONNECTED DEATHS COVERED
Bill Hunter, Jim Koethe, Tom Howard, Mary Pinchot Meyer, Florence Pritchett Smith, Lee Bowers, Jack Ruby, David Ferrie, George de Mohrenschildt, and Richard Kollmar.
