Steve Zaragoza on Steve Zaragoza on "Gray Bones in a Grave"

Frightday

This week, Byron talks with Steve "the Shovel Man" Zaragoza, co-host of Dynamic Banter (formerly of SourceFed and Cloverfeels), about his horror anthology audio drama "Gray Bones in a Grave," why festival horror isn't what it used to be, and an intriguing game of horror this-or-that that somehow ends with a modern cult classic on top. Frightday

Patrick Brice returns to Frightday to talk "The Creep Tapes" Season 3, twelve and a half years after Creep premiered at SXSW and turned Mark Duplass's Peachfuzz into an unlikely horror icon. We get into what it feels like to create a character people are tattooing on themselves, how Season 3 finally nails down a few pieces of the lore (without letting the wolf out of the bag completely), and why this year pushes Peachfuzz out of the cabin and onto a houseboat and a private plane. Patrick also breaks down the pared-down five-person crew, why he's usually the one holding the camera, and how a...

Frightday

Parapsychologist Lisa Puzo Strickland joins us for a wide-ranging, unrestrained conversation about the thread she sees running through everything: consciousness. From precognitive dreams she started having at fifteen, while attending a private Baptist school in the middle of Los Angeles, to a PhD in philosophy and parapsychology and a deep dive into the UAP/NHI field, Lisa makes the case that psi, nature, non-human intelligence, and even brain-computer interfaces are all wired to the same source. The through-line is fear, and what to do with it. Lisa's refrain, "you don't prepare someone for...

ABOUT THE SHOW
GRAY BONES IN A GRAVE is a horror anthology audio drama created by Steve Zaragoza and Brett Register, with a dash of Owen Carter. Each episode is a self-contained story led into the graveyard by the Shovel Man, a Crypt Keeper-style host who tells you how each resident got buried there. It's fully sound-designed, with live radio-play-style table reads streamed to patrons before each episode drops. Six episodes make up the first season, and scripts for season two are already underway.
