Turning, she almost dropped the platter when she saw that one of the visitors had followed her to the kitchen and was standing in the doorway watching her. Sydney wondered if he wanted to steal her watch; it was a valuable piece. Mustering up her most practised kind smile, she put her hand to her chest and spoke, “Oh , you scared me! How can I help you?” She kept her smile in place, waiting for him to answer. For a second she didn’t think he would, and felt her lips begin to shake. How long was she supposed to keep smiling? But when he finally spoke, she felt the blood drain from her...

Welcome to our monthly Q&A with Esther and Steph. Today's question says: I have a friend who has been a Christian for only a couple of years. We haven’t actually been friends for very long. I am used to talking to people about Jesus like we were all just born on the altar. I ask great questions about the Lord and quiz my friends all the time. But when I talk to him…he doesn’t want to answer my questions; he dislikes when I quiz him about anything Bible. And well, I was ambitious and a little bit frustrated, and I most likely scared him off rather than pull him closer....

Dahlia parked her car and began to pull out what she’d need for the day. “Hey Dahlia, need some help?” Dahlia looked up to see Adam, Kate and Jason heading her way. “Actually, that would be great,” Dahlia smiled, piling their outstretched arms with a few boxes and bags, while she pulled her small trolley with more things. “I’m heading to the Home Ec. room,” she said. “Hey, Dahlia, I just, um, wanted to say thanks for the tutoring club you volunteer at after school on Tuesdays. I got my maths test, and I passed. I don’t think I’ve ever gotten a pass before,” Jason...

Nicolas had grown up in church. His great-grandparents had helped build the little church his family attended. His mother and sister led worship, his father was an elder, his older brother was the youth activity coordinator and his uncle was one of the treasurers. Everybody knew the Fletcher family “the faithful ones.” And that was kind of the problem. Everyone assumed Nicolas already knew everything about the Bible. His youth class teachers called on him first. The younger kids idolised him. Even his friends joked, “If anyone’s got a direct line to God, it’s Nick!” He’d laugh it...

Nicodemus stepped through the narrow streets, his sandals brushing against the cool stones. The scent of burning wood drifted from nearby homes. His heart pounded faster with each step. Finally, he reached the place where Jesus was staying. A soft light flickered inside — maybe from a small oil lamp. Nicodemus hesitated, then knocked lightly. Jesus looked up as the door opened. His eyes, calm and kind, met Nicodemus’s. It was as if He already knew why he had come. “Rabbi,” Nicodemus began, his voice trembling slightly, “we know that you are a teacher who has come from God. No...

Hey GIGI girls,
Today we have a brand-new story for you - we are looking at a woman in the Bible found in the New Testament. She was married to Ananias, and they both made a terrible mistake. You can find their story in your Bible in Acts 5: 1-11.
Here is a sneak peek....
A small leather bag filled with coins lay on the table between them. Ananias paced back and forth.
Sapphira watched him.
Her stomach fluttered.“We have to decide now,” he said, voice low and urgent.
They had sold a field—something many believers had been doing to support the new church. The generosity was incredible, and people admired it deeply. Barnabas had given a magnificent gift just the week before, and his name was on everyone’s lips.
Sapphira’s eyes dropped to the bag of coins.
“Are we truly giving all of it?” she asked quietly.
Ananias stopped pacing and looked at her with a confident smile.
“We’ll give most of it,” he said. “Enough to look like everything. No one will know.”
A breeze slipped through the open doorway, brushing cold across her arms.
“But… we said we would give it all,” she whispered.
Ananias stepped closer, lowering his voice.
“Sapphira, listen. We’re not lying to God. We’re still helping the church. We just don’t need to tell them about the part we’re keeping.”
Her throat tightened.
The uneasy feeling in her spirit grew heavier.Respect. Admiration. Approval.
The things she secretly wanted crowded her thoughts. And the coins glimmered temptingly in the dim morning light.
She nodded.
But her heart felt heavy as stone.
Tune in to hear what happened next!
