When we get saved we are baptized into Christ. This is our spiritual baptism that takes place the moment we get saved and what puts us in the church body. We are put into Christ, and at the same time Christ is put into us. Our spiritual baptism is an operation of the Holy Spirit that guarantees that we can never lose our salvation, because the Holy Spirit is the "earnest" of our inheritance.

While the Bible says that our flesh is dead after we get saved, in reality, it's really alive. However, God wants us to "reckon" it as dead as we "calleth those things which be not as though they were". God wants us to push past all the physical evidence that we can SEE that we are alive and believe by faith that we CANNOT SEE that we are dead to sin and alive unto God.

When Jesus saved us, while breathing into our dead spirit the breath of God, and making us a son of God, the Lord also, at the same time put our flesh to death to help us not to do the sinful things that we used to do. Just like we get saved by faith in believing Jesus died, was buried, and rose again, we are sanctified and set apart in the Christian life by faith that we are dead, and our life is hid with Christ in God.

When we get saved it is not just a "one-and-done" type of operation. We have been saved from all of our PAST sins, we are presently BEING SAVED by the life of Jesus so that we can come to Him when we sin, and we are saved from the wrath to come and from any FUTURE sins that we commit. Our salvation through what Jesus did on the cross is perfect and it is complete!
info_outlineToday we are going to take a birds-eye-view through chapters 8-14 of the book of Revelation and the time of the Tribulation period.
