Own Your Choices Own Your Life
In this episode, I explore a topic that resonates with many: the prison of our thoughts. Reflecting on my experiences, I aim to create a space for authenticity and vulnerability, sharing insights to help listeners navigate their mental landscapes. I begin by acknowledging the overwhelming nature of our thoughts and how they can sometimes feel like a cage, trapping us in limiting beliefs and fears. I encourage listeners to recognize that these thoughts do not define them; they are merely thoughts that can be changed. By understanding that we are not our thoughts, we can break down the mental...

In this episode, I explore identity and its crucial role in personal growth and transformation. I share that transitioning to a new identity can be uncomfortable and chaotic. It’s normal to feel like you’re in a state of flux, especially when you’re not quite who you used to be, nor fully who you’re becoming. I share my experiences of navigating this in-between phase, particularly in my journey toward publishing books. This process started as an idea and has required significant effort and adaptation. Throughout the episode, I highlight the importance of language and mindset. I...

During a recent live podcast recording, we discussed limiting beliefs and how they can hold us back. I shared my belief that we should focus on building a relationship with them rather than trying to eliminate these beliefs. Our subconscious mind's primary job is to keep us safe, and often, it clings to outdated beliefs that no longer serve us. I likened this to cleaning out a cluttered closet filled with clothes we no longer wear—much like our minds can be filled with old thoughts and stories that don't represent who we are today. As we approach spring, I encouraged listeners to reflect on...

In this episode, I dive deep into the powerful concept of the stories we tell ourselves and how they shape our reality. I begin by emphasizing that the narrative we create in our minds is the one that ultimately defines our lives. Our subconscious mind is highly responsive to these stories, and if we continuously tell ourselves that we are afraid or incapable, we reinforce those beliefs, leading to a cycle of negativity. I share insights inspired by Erwin McManus, particularly his idea that our fears are intertwined with our nightmares, while our possibilities are linked to our dreams. I...

In this episode, I share the topic of emotional regulation and its massiveimpact on entrepreneurship. As I reflect on the five-year anniversary of my transition from a 27-year career to the online business world, I share insights that I wish I had learned much earlier in my journey. There’s a huge difference between reacting and responding to situations. I emphasize that reacting is often an impulsive outburst driven by external...

In this episode, I dive into a powerful question: "Can you feel it before you have it?" This inquiry transcends the realm of wealth and touches on various aspects of our lives, including confidence and abundance. Drawing from my personal experiences, I share a moment from a recent panel discussion on wealth, where I confronted my own feelings of lack amidst a challenging time, including the loss of my mother-in-law. I reflect on how wealth is often perceived solely in terms of money, yet I emphasize that true wealth encompasses much more. I challenge the audience to consider whether they can...

In this episode, I share the concept of "anchors," a powerful technique from Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP). Have you ever tried to push through resistance only to feel disconnected and unnatural? This struggle often stems from limiting beliefs and ingrained strategies that dictate our actions. Just like baking a cake requires a specific order of operations, so does our approach to personal growth. Anchoring allows us to evoke and harness positive emotions—such as confidence, gratitude, and joy—by consciously recalling specific experiences. However, we often anchor negative emotions...
info_outlineIn this episode, I am sharing a quote that spoke to me deeply, “People who have overcome darkness in their life typically have a fire inside of them that is almost impossible to extinguish.” ~Stephen Timoney. It feels like the more darkness or challenges we walk through the more I feel the fire to do something with it.
In today’s episode we discuss:
1) Suppressing that fire burns me, yet expressing that fire, learning how to share it does 2 things; 1. It sets me free, helps me to heal and solidifies my purpose; 2. It helps me to help others with their stories and that ripple effect pays back in ways I could never fully express.
2) That fire you’re walking through, that you’ve walked through, doesn’t have to be for nothing. Maybe you’re not walking through it. Maybe it’s moving through you to shape you into the person you are capable of becoming.
3) If you’re feeling that pull to learn how to heal and support yourself, to find your voice and do something big and impactful with your story, I’m here to support you through it. Those parts of yourself that you’ve tried so hard to hide are EXACTLY the parts to lean into. That’s where your gifts are!!
