249 – Every Believer a Winner

Notes by Steve Jaynes

God bless you all in the mighty and Powerful name of our risen Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. May God bless you all abundantly. The following are the notes from the latest podcast show “Every Believer a Winner.” I have all the scriptures written out so it will be easy for you to follow along. Give a listen. Click on the title to hear the show.

John 10:10 “The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.”

This verse has so much information in it. It tells us about the thief. Which we know is the devil and his devil spirits. Sometimes called the adversary because he's adverse to us and against God. It also talks about the more abundant life that Jesus Christ came to make available. Now every believer can be a winner. To beat the adversary we have to know about the two kingdoms. About all his devices. Then we can stand against them. We can be more than conquerors. We have to learn how to be winners. We do that by learning the scriptures. By learning how to read our Bibles so that we can learning how to stand against his methods.

2 Corinthians 2:11 “Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.”

One of the methods the adversary uses against us is the secrecy of his moves. He's invisible, he's a spirit, he uses that to his advantage. He doesn't want you to know what and how he operates. But Jesus Christ came to point it out. To show us the adversary. The Bible teaches us what he's doing and we can learn and be winners. Look at some of the ways he has worked against all of us.

Ephesians 2:1 “And [even] you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins; 2 Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience: 3 Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others. 4 But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, 5 Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) 6 And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus: 7 That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus. 8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.”

We were all in this situation. We all know what it's like. Now we can help others get out of their situation and be transformed into a new situation where every believer is a winner.

Colossians 1:13 “Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:” (This verse was not read in the podcast show. But I had the verse in my notes. I must have just talked about the verse without reading it. Now it's here for you to read as you listen to the teaching)

John 10:10b - 11 “I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. 11 I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep.”

We can continue to learn God's Word to see all the keys that are available to us. We can build our believing to be more than conquerors and be winners.

Romans 10:17 “So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.”

Look at these keys.

Ephesians 6:10 – 12 “ Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. 11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles [methods] of the devil. 12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.”

The adversary tries to make you feel unworthy, condemned, knowing your shortcomings and always bringing them up to you in your mind. You need to fight that. Replace those thoughts with God's Word. Put the negatives away because now you're more than conquerors. Now you're winners.

Ephesians 6:13 – 18 “Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. 14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; 15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. 17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: 18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;”

The final summary of these verses is we stand, we believe and we pray as we learn to put on the whole armor of God. We can stand and withstand the evil day which is now. We can be winners.

1 John 4:4 “Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.”

With the understanding of the Scriptures, we know that greater is that which is in us than that which is in the world. That makes us winners.

Romans 8:33 – 39 “Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God's elect? It is God that justifieth. 34 Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us. 35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? 36 As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. 37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. 38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, 39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

We are what God's Word says we are. That makes us more than conquerors. Makes available a more abundant life to us and makes every believer a winner.

Until the next time we get together, may God bless you abundantly.
