265 – In the Context Taught by Steve Jaynes In this week's podcast, we're going to look at how to read the Bible in the context. I've seen that sometimes our favorite verses can even be greater than we think they are as we read the entire context in which our favorite verses are placed. We can get a greater scope of understanding and better knowledge of what God's Word is teaching us. Give a listen to this fine teaching on “In the Contact.” The Announcer: Maurice Coleman Intro and Outro Music: Pamela LoVerme Janovyak, Her version of "Be Thou My Vision" from her CD Behold. The More Abundant Life

264 – Short Study on Anger Taught by Steve Jaynes In this week's podcast, I shared a short study on anger. I say a short study because the word anger is used 234 times in the Bible. That means there are lots we could study on the word anger. This was a short one so that we can cover it easily in the time we have together. We're going to learn some important things about anger. We will learn from Jesus Christ's example on how he handled anger. We're also looking at the Book of Proverbs to see how to use wisdom to help us to control our anger, the lessons on what to do with our minds to get...

God 263 – Get Behind Me Satan Taught by Steve Jaynes During the Last Supper, Jesus Christ gave his disciples a new commandment, that they were to love as he loved them. This week's podcast is about how Jesus Christ loved as we can read about in the gospel. Jesus Christ was very tender and loving to people. He hugged the leper. He had great compassion, mercy, and grace on many people. He brought deliverance and healing to many people. We can read about his commitment, how he stood for God and His Word. He would proclaim God's will. It is very easy to see the walk of Jesus Christ in the...

262 – We are No Ignorant of Satan's Devices, Part Two Taught by Larry LoVerme As Larry finishes up his teaching he allows other people to share their Insight on the teaching. It's such a wonderful time it reminds me of a group of musicians all playing their individual instruments in adding little licks, little pieces to the music. It's like the best music you've ever heard as we compare spiritual things with spiritual things. We all grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. What a wonderful morning in God's Word that was. The Announcer: Maurice Coleman Intro and...

255 - The Renewed Mind, Part 2 How Grace and Renewing The Mind Work Together I've been studying how grace and renewing of one's mind work together. Being strong in grace and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ gives the believer liberty, freedom, and peace of mind. Renewing the mind gives the believer the power to overcome the world. To get answers to prayers, to be more than conquerors, and to be victorious. Both are very useful. Romans 5:20 & 21 “Moreover the law entered, that the offence might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound: 21 That as sin...

256 – Love God In our last Biblical Studies Teachings Session, Bruce Mahone was the keynote speaker. It was fabulous teaching on the first commandment of the ten. We are to love God. This is still very important until this very day. Bruce is working on a class that he started to teach and is continuing to teach on “Let Grace Abound. He's working towards a book on the same topic. I was very blessed with the teaching.  Until the next time we get together, may God bless you abundantly.  Agape,  Steve Jaynes  The Announcer: Maurice Coleman  Intro and Outro Music:...

Steve's notes and all the Scriptures written out for easy following along.

Ephesians 5:1 – 19 “Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children; 2 And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour. 3 But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becometh saints; 4 Neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not convenient: but rather giving of thanks. 5 For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God. 6 Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience. 7 Be not ye therefore partakers with them. 8 For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light: 9 (For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth;) 10 Proving what is acceptable unto the Lord. 11 And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them. 12 For it is a shame even to speak of those things which are done of them in secret. 13 But all things that are reproved are made manifest by the light: for whatsoever doth make manifest is light. 14 Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light. 15 See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, 16 Redeeming the time, because the days are evil. 17 Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is. 18 And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit; 19 Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord;”

Speaking to yourselves is meditating.

Psalm 1:1 – 3 “Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. 2 But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. 3 And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.”

To prosper is to walk-in power.

Ephesians 5:20 & 21 “Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ; 21 Submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God,”

I Corinthians 2:10 – 16 “To whom ye forgive any thing, I forgive also: for if I forgave any thing, to whom I forgave it, for your sakes forgave I it in the person of Christ; 11 Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices. 12 Furthermore, when I came to Troas to preach Christ's gospel, and a door was opened unto me of the Lord, 13 I had no rest in my spirit, because I found not Titus my brother: but taking my leave of them, I went from thence into Macedonia. 14 Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savour of his knowledge by us in every place. 15 For we are unto God a sweet savour of Christ, in them that are saved, and in them that perish: 16 To the one we are the savour of death unto death; and to the other the savour of life unto life. And who is sufficient for these things?”

In this section of God's Word, the question is. Who is sufficient for these things? Keep that in mind as we continue to read through this section of God”s Word.

2 Corinthians 2:17 – 3:18 “For we are not as many, which corrupt the word of God: but as of sincerity, but as of God, in the sight of God speak we in Christ. 1Do we begin again to commend ourselves? or need we, as some others, epistles of commendation to you, or letters of commendation from you? 2 Ye are our epistle written in our hearts, known and read of all men: 3 Forasmuch as ye are manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tables of stone, but in fleshy tables of the heart. 4 And such trust have we through Christ to God-ward: 5 Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think any thing as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God; 6 Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life. 7 But if the ministration of death, written and engraven in stones, was glorious, so that the children of Israel could not stedfastly behold the face of Moses for the glory of his countenance; which glory was to be done away: 8 How shall not the ministration of the spirit be rather glorious? 9 For if the ministration of condemnation be glory, much more doth the ministration of righteousness exceed in glory. 10 For even that which was made glorious had no glory in this respect, by reason of the glory that excelleth. 11 For if that which is done away was glorious, much more that which remaineth is glorious. 12 Seeing then that we have such hope, we use great plainness of speech: 13 And not as Moses, which put a vail over his face, that the children of Israel could not stedfastly look to the end of that which is abolished: 14 But their minds were blinded: for until this day remaineth the same vail untaken away in the reading of the old testament; which vail is done away in Christ. 15 But even unto this day, when Moses is read, the vail is upon their heart. 16 Nevertheless when it shall turn to the Lord, the vail shall be taken away. 17 Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. 18 But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.”

We can change into the same image as we continue to put God's word on in our minds and act upon that Word of God. That's the renewed mind. That's the key to power.

2 Corinthians 4:1 – 7 “Therefore seeing we have this ministry, as we have received mercy, we faint not; 2 But have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully; but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God. 3 But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: 4 In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them. 5 For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus' sake. 6 For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. 7 But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.”

Who is sufficient for these things? You are.

Until the next time we get together, may God bless you abundantly.

Agape,

Steve Jaynes
