The Unique Impact Between Sleep & Cortisol Levels

 

"Even if you are healthy and don't have fatigue, just the one factor of being an night owl chronotype and going to bed late at night will dramatically alter your cortisol levels. If you take a group of healthy people who are either morning people or night owls and you look at their cortisol levels and you chart it, those people on average will have cortisol levels that would get them diagnosed by someone who believes in adrenal fatigue as having adrenal fatigue. However, that's not at all what's going on; it's just a function of being a night owl chronotype. That's one factor but circadian rhythm and sleep dysregulation across the board is the single most common reason for HPA axis dysfunction." - Ari Whitten

"How do we mimic, support, and optimize the natural systems of the human body?
