Mahatma Gandhi is quoted as saying that we should “Live as if you were to die tomorrow. Learn as if you were to live forever.” Too often we heart of people being told to live each day as if it were their last day on earth. Personally, I’ve never liked that suggestion, to live as if the end is waiting just beyond the horizon, waiting to trip me up just as I’m hitting my stride. During all of the manic living, are we really taking time to surround ourselves with the joy felt or the pleasure of livin

Being comfortable in our Status Quo is a myth. We may feel that we are just fine because the status quo remains the status quo. We can just stay in this place, in this way and nothing will ever change. But change comes, even touching the walls of our comfort zones and try as we might to keep it out, it will prevail. As human beings, we were made for more. We were not meant to remain the same. We were made to be more, do more, move, live, thrive, grow. It's time to disrupt your Status Quo!

Self-care is not selfish even though at times it might seem that way. When your calendar is full, when your life is going in a dozen directions, you might find yourself sliding self-care further down on your own to-do list. It’s been said that you cannot pour from an empty cup. We overdo, we overbook and we run out of steam until all we are left with is an empty vessel, our cup has become empty. It's time to disrupt the Status Quo!

Is Life Transformation possible? Life transformation is absolutely possible, but it must begin with a shift in our mindset. We have to want this transformation badly enough to both identify these beliefs that have held us back and understand that we must break through these. The beauty is that we get to choose how things will be for ourselves. We are not obligated to maintain the status quo in any situation, everything changes when we decide to change ourselves, for ourselves.

BUSYNESS fills mental space until we feel ready to deal with whatever it is that we are “running away” from. Once we are done running, there it is again, staring us in the face until we deal with it. And there we go again. Filling space with Busyness. We are so busy taking care of Busyness that we forget to take care of business. Whatever compels us to keep moving, the truth remains that we have to give ourselves permission to slow down, permission to breathe. It's time to disrupt your Status Quo!

Eckhart Tolle says saying yes means surrendering to what is, saying yes to life and watching how it starts working for you rather than against you. Surrendering to What Is… Your Life that is happening right now. We get no replays, no repeats. If we don’t surrender to What Is Right Now, well, the chances are good that we will never pass this way in the exact same way or time ever again. What Is is enjoying the moment at the moment. Simple enough. Being there in the moment.

What do you think about when you think about your Arena - your life? The arena is where we go every day to be made or unmade every day. There will be daily jousts, some successful, some not so much. Foes will be faced, and battles will be won or lost. Any situation that causes a disruption or seeks answers for this situation, any unresolved issues will affect and change everything in your Arena, intentionally or not. It is time to disrupt your Status Quo!
info_outlineDisruption has received a bad rap lately along with the Women who have dared to be disruptive. Women who have persisted, have been called nasty and yes, disruptive. We’re going to change all of that right now. Every disruption or disruptive act begins with the cry, wake up call, a cry for help, a cry for recognition that something’s not right, something’s not working, something it’s never going to work or behave the same ever again. A Disrupter has been defined as someone or something which makes a significant impact in a given industry within a short time span. Someone who interrupts the progress or normal course or unity of a thing, a movement, an industry, radically changing a situation. I want to say that again because it’s just so powerful.Who is a Disrupter? You Are!
A Disrupter is someone, a Woman, who disrupts the progress or normal course of a movement, radically changing a situation. It is easy to celebrate the Public Disrupters who are leading Fortune 500 companies or women who are leaders in Congress or other offices. The disrupters who are Activists and Leaders in our communities and we love them. This show is for the Invisible, Silent Disrupters: the women raising their families, taking care of elderly parents. The single moms. The college student. The Superwoman. The stay at home caretakers. Women like you who are shaking up the Status Quo every day, whether this is at home, at work, at life. You are doing more, becoming more and having more, living unapologetically true to your calling. As Disrupters, when we stand up for ourselves, we are standing up for women everywhere. When we stand in for someone else, we hold the world on our shoulders. We are disrupters for all women, not just the women today, but for all women to come: for the girls on the playground, or the teens in high school chemistry or the new college graduates. Maybe you feel that you don’t make a difference, that you can’t make a difference. You do – every day. And it’s a lot of work! Occasionally during all this BUSY-ness, we tend to forget to look out for ourselves. As a Certified Life Coach, it is my honor to work with women who are ready and willing to reconnect with themselves – what makes you unique, what makes you happy, what makes you feel fulfilled – and reopen yourself to the possibilities of YOU. That’s who this show is for.
So, I know someone might say, well, what’s all of this talk about an Arena? I’m a mom, not a fighter. Or I’m busy just trying to make it through to the next day, I don’t want to talk about fighting. I hear you. Disruptive times call for disruptive measures. Let’s talk about your Arena, your life. The space you enter every waking moment of your life, equipped with your “Sword”, habits that you’ve adopted to defend yourself and your “Shield”, beliefs that you’ve instilled within to protect yourself. This Arena is where you raise your kids, where you go to work, where you live and thrive and survive. Your Arena is built on a culmination of the stories or experiences that make up your life and is fueled by your love, your wins, your losses and even your fears. Also, who else occupies your Arena on any given day: Spouses, children, bosses, coworkers, how are they affected? What are their roles in your Arena? As women, sometimes we find ourselves falling prey to “IF/THEN” thinking in your Arena as you mull over things that affect your decision such as “IF I make this change, what THEN happens to everyone else? You might ask “who am I to disrupt the Status Quo, even the Status Quo of others? Are my hopes and dreams more important than those of others? Your life is not lived in a vacuum; indeed, every part affects the other. Balance is a myth in your Arena, no matter how hard you try if you move one piece, the others shift as well. If you remove an element in this Arena, Life rushes in to fill the void. It is constant in motion. But it is not on autopilot. Life does not happen to us, it happens because of us. Some days you will enter this Arena ready and able to face whatever comes your way. Some days you will barely drag yourself out of the Arena, wondering how you will face another day. Maybe your comfort zone has grown uncomfortable. Maybe this space is great, it offers everything that you could ever want as a Disrupter. Or you might feel that things could be better. Or glad that they are not worse. Maybe you want different, you want to stretch beyond your Status Quo. Sometimes our efforts are hampered by what I define as the Status Quo: Your normal way of doing things. The way things have always been done. Perhaps that worked for you then, but now, you’ve decided that you want more, that you want to step into the fullness of your own personality, the fullness of your life as it could be. But you just don’t know how. That is the beauty of being a Disrupter. You get to choose every day how you enter your Arena. I coach my clients in the areas of disrupting their status quo by disrupting the limiting beliefs that have kept them at a standstill in their Arena. As a coach, I am honored to be able to coach Disrupters like yourself on how to equip yourself to meet whatever is presented in your Arena, preparing you to be able to face whatever comes out that gate. That’s what the Woman on Fire Show is about, igniting or reigniting your flame within, encouraging you to step out beyond those limitations to explore your life to move you from “What Now” to “What’s Next”.YOU ARE A DISRUPTER.
So, Disrupters, as we begin this crazy wonderful journey together, let me ask you this question: What is the Call for Action on your life that is so large that it would force you to get up, stand up and be counted? What is the thing you are most willing to fight for no matter what the cost, a reason for being so large, so all-consuming that it is causing you to say enough! I cannot do this any longer! I have to make a change now! What are you willing to fight for, to be a bold and confident warrior for during these crazy and exciting times. As Disrupters, we are on the frontline, it’s time to pick up your Sword and Shield and do work. And I am there with you in the Arena, standing shoulder to shoulder with you as your Coach.
