Webster’s Dictionary defines a coliseum as a large sports stadium or building designed for public entertainment like the Colosseum, an amphitheater built in Rome during the 1st century a.d. and collecting to gather an accumulation of (objects) especially as a hobby. I’m Steve Reinker, a sports addict and recovering baseball card collector turned woodworker. In the summer of 2018, I founded 467 Woodworking and in recent years began turning pens and making other items made from materials sourced from sports venues, famous landmarks, buildings, and other historical artifacts. In each episode we’ll talk about one such place and the story behind its lifetime, associated teams, special events, and significance in the history of its existence.
