The Pros And Cons Of Being Soul-Led In this episode, I muse on what it means to be soul-led and have a soul-led business. As women, we are drawn into service-based business, to share our gifts, skills and experiences with others, to help others, and to make the world a better place! When we tap into the heart and connect to the calling of our soul, this is a very powerful vibration. But it’s not all rainbow and unicorns! Our love, passion, purpose, and compassion mean we create community and connection, and in a world of online and the rise of A.I, personal brand, community, and connections are our superpowers. But when it comes to being in our purpose and in profit, this is not always straightforward. We tend to over-deliver and under-charge. We want to help others, but in this we forget about ourselves. For us to fully share our soul’s purpose, we have to also love ourselves. Not to mention the fear of failure and the rejection can make marketing and selling tricky - we are the product in our business. Lastly, I do believe you came here for a reason, but your purpose evolves; a soul-led business at times requires us to navigate the evolution of our soul. Set goals, set intentions, make plans, be open to all the unknown that is on its way, or go with the flow; however, you approach the start of a new year is welcome, simply do it your way. 2026 is the year of the fire horse, and in terms of numerology is a 1 year; the vibe is certainly momentum and new beginnings. My experience of improving my health has taught me that being very focused on exactly what you do want and sticking to a simple, actionable plan is very powerful. This is my 2026 vibe: to be very focused on what I do want and stick to the plan, with plenty of space for the yet unknown to appear. I have plans based on exactly what I know I do and don’t want. But I also have questions about things I do not yet know the answers to, and probably for the first time in my life, I am at peace with not knowing all the answers. 2026 for me is all about simple repeatable actions to make the dream real. I’d love to be part of making your 2026 dream real. I know I can’t do it alone; I will always have a coach or mentor by my side guiding me, or invest in the actions in my business, I know I need support with. My 2025 Debrief
What a year! 2025 has been the year of the snake, the shedding of what no longer serves you. For me, it has been the first full year where I’ve navigated officially having two businesses. Amy-Yoga, my training business, and Amy Jones Mentor Ltd, business strategist and mentor for female founders. Growing my new business and sustaining the old has not been a straight line, alongside life that life us all! This is the story of courage, of throwing spaghetti at the wall and seeing what sticks, to getting things massively right and massively wrong. I find myself at the end of 2025, very proud of how I have navigated it all and if I am honest, a little scared, as the turnovers of my businesses have literally swapped around! If 2026 is a new beginning, a one year, it certainly feels like I am stepping out into a new unknown. For the most part, this is exciting! The definition of madness is doing the same thing and expecting a different result. If you want to make changes, you have to be willing to do things differently. Change is never easy. We can’t make big changes all the time, we can’t leap all the time, this would lead to distress for our nervous system - aka burnout and overwhelm. But at the right time, usually when the pain of staying where we are is greater than taking action, we are ready to leap. Eustress for the nervous system. A new challenge, a new way of doing things - this is when your reality shifts. In today’s episode, I reflect on when I took a big leap and made a big investment in a mastermind two years ago, and share my present mid-leap moment, as I look to tackle peri-menopausal weight gain head-on - it’s not easy, but then change never is, which is why I hired myself a coach. Make Offer Make Money “Make offers, make money, make offers often, make money often”. This is one of my favourite mantras. As a small-business owner, it's our job to be the head of sales, and it's our job to make offers to people, as sales are the lifeblood of any business. Not to mention that we want to work with people and help them! But why is it when I talk about sales, sales strategies, and making money, people get uncomfortable? What are you scared of? And yes, into the mix of this is our relationship with money – a topic for another day, or a different podcast! But actually, what we are scared of is the no, the rejection, and that feels personal, especially to us, empathetic, service-based business owners. But we don’t need many yeses to have a profitable, sustainable business. The nos aren’t personal, and when we find our tribe, we’re glad we had the nos from those who weren’t right for us. Ok, so maybe today’s title is a little bit of clickbait, but hear me out… Today’s episode is so important, when you understand the numbers game, you get to play along and selling more becomes possible. The truth is, there is no secret art; conversion and open rates apply to us all. When we accept this, we take the following action, and this does result in more sales. Make offers aligned with our current audience size. Commit whole heartily to growing our audience, especially on our email list, because the only difference between you and someone who is making more sales is not the pretty Canva graphic or the messaging, it is the size of their audience versus yours. It is annoying when someone less experienced than you seems to be making sales more easily, but in truth, I’ll put money on the only difference between you and them is that they have a bigger audience. Frustrating I know, but this is also exciting, because we all get to play this number game. When we commit to growing and nurturing our audience, we commit to selling more. That is the secret; there is no secret. No fast-track magic button, simply persistent, consistent action in the direction of our dreams. The Power Of A Low Cost Offer It’s offer season, and like me, lots of service-based businesses and business coaches are tapping into the back-to-school post-summer vibes. Of course, we want to make it clear why people need us and our offer, but I’ve seen some claims that don’t add up, and that certainly don’t give the whole picture. I’m sure you’ve seen it: “I make £40K a month from a $27 offer” – great, that may be true, but they never share ad spend, audience size and conversion rates. “Why sell a £97 course when you can make £3k with one corporate client?”. True, this is a lot easier than selling 31 £97 courses, but nurturing relationships so corporate and 1:1 clients are ready to make higher value long-term commitments happens to no one overnight. The conversation missing is how a low-cost product/offer could work for you and your business. You can build an offer suite that gives people an opportunity to dip their toe in the water with a lower-cost paid offer. I have two £97 courses, I love running, I love the impact they have, and they are the main way I meet my future 1:1 and mastermind clients. There is power in a mini course. Yes, most of us won’t be making 5 figures a month from lower-cost courses, but for many, including myself, they make a brilliant foundational offer. S3 E3 - Profit Versus Turnover
Profit Versus Turnover You can tell by the length of today’s episode that this is a topic I am passionate about! Yes, I can now claim I am a six-figure business owner, across my two businesses I have passed that magic, dare I say made-up, marker of success. I am proud of the growth in my business. But let me reassure there is a huge difference between turnover and profit and too often these figures are used to mis-sell to people. Promises of formulas to £5K and £10K months, six-figure or multi-six figures business and five figure launches, are not what I am here for. Are the people making these promises talking about how long they’ve been growing their audiences, how much they have invested in paid ads and how big their team is? Alongside turnover are they discussing profit, tax and VAT? Maybe. But in many instances people are sold a false promise, that may not be realistic for them based on where they are in their business. Not to mention where they are in terms of a financial energetic set point. I know to earn more, I’ll also need to work on my ability to receive more money; action alone is not enough. I have to believe it possible. What’s the point of scaling to an arbitrary goal that isn’t mine if it means I don’t run my business how I want to, if I don’t live my truth. The real truth here is – you get to decide. More money in your hands is a good thing, over time you will expand to receive more, but the amount you desire will always be unique to you. Self-Sabotage Regardless of stage of business, and years of experience, I am pretty confident that at some point or another we are all the masters of self-sabotage. Or perhaps better, more compassionately put, masters of self-protection. I recently experienced a brilliant example of this. I pressed publish on my amazing new website on Friday 18th July, brave I know mercury went retrograde on the 17th! Astrology aside, I had had my website for a good couple of weeks, sitting waiting for that final glance over and the nod from me to go live. What did I do? Find every brilliant reason why I could not find an hour or so to go through the final edit and press live. Why? Because in truth I was a bit scared. In truth I couldn’t quite believe this was me, this was my site, these were my offers and prices. It was safer to be busy. I recognised what it was, gave myself a big loving “get on with it” and finally went live. The feedback has been brilliant, and yes I do fully believe I deserve this site. Yes it does truly reflect how brilliant I am. And I love my prices, I know these price points mean I fully show up as my clients want me too. This is a big one this month, it’s the last episode in season 2. Season 2 Ep. 23 - Holding space in the highs and the lows!
To be human is to have seasons, to have cycles, to have movements of highs and moments of lows, and let's not forget everything in between. How we hold space for ourselves as business owners in all of these seasons is how we ensure our long-term business success. Can you not let the lows mean anything? Can we sit in the discomfort of something not selling? Can we not let the highs be moments we miss, or don’t celebrate, or worst still, tell ourselves we can’t keep this up? Can we allow ourselves to be in the space of the in-between, where we are open to receiving and just getting on with those everyday tasks and life. It’s all needed, it’s all neutral, it’s all part of being human, can we let it all exist! As a business coach, I not only practice holding space for myself through my seasons, but for my clients too. In fact, I show up more when my clients are in a low moment, guiding them through this and seizing the opportunity that is there is something I love doing. Navigating this alone is nearly impossible. How online courses are changing in 2025
If you believe the hype, online courses are no longer selling, and launches are dead… This is not true! What is true however is things are changing, but this is nothing new, after 15+ years as a solo soul-led entrepreneur I can tell you that being in it for the long game is the process of repeating, refining and adapting. What worked for creating, delivering, and selling online courses has shifted since I joined the online course creator party when the rest of the world did in 2020! Things have shifted, but I am still very much selling and delivering successful online courses. Semi-passive, scalable income is something I will advocate most people bring into the offer mix of their business, but like everything let’s be in it for the long game. My top tips for delivering and selling online courses in 2025: Make it a need to have a specific, no-brainer offer. Keep it short and sweet, especially if it has a high percentage of self-self-led study. Human connection in the selling process is essential; people should feel like individuals rather than numbers in a marketing machine. Drop the overwhelm with overly long sale pages, and multiple bonus offers that people probably don’t need. Waitlists are key to gaining expression of interest, remember to reward your waitlist wonders. Should it be free or paid? I’ve been asked this question a lot recently! Why? Lots of my 1:1 clients are bringing in online offers, whether it be a membership, course, or simply a one-off live training or class. We’re, therefore, spilling into the world of launching. What should we charge for an online offer, and whether something should be free or paid? The answer is – it depends! It depends on the purpose of the free offer. Is it to launch, build awareness, grow your mailing list and call your tribe closer? Do you feel called to give it for free? Or is it a paid offer, one where you know you need to charge to ensure: People show up for your offer. You show up for your offer. All options are equal; all options are neutral, all you can do is let your intuition and energy lead, and if you’re not sure be in test-and-see mode. What if I can’t get this wrong? It was great to dive into such a practical topic today. You need both intuition and energy fused with actionable strategy. That’s what I am all about, and I’d love to hang out more! I have wanted to share this story, literally all year! At the end of 2023, 2 weeks before Christmas I joined a mastermind, this was not what I had planned. But when Lucy Sheridan showed me the sales page for her New Era mastermind something deep inside me told me very strongly that I had to say yes to this. I said yes to a £10,000, investment. I have never invested in myself and my business at this price before. I had the first monthly instalment, but the rest of the money was unknown. And it was by far the BEST decision I have ever made. I joined because I knew I was ready for a big shift in my business, and I needed the guidance of someone like Lucy to make it. I also needed to get out of Cornwall, without my kids in tow, and this Mastermind had in-person meet-ups in Birmingham, London, Peak District and Edinburgh. But this mastermind has changed me on so many levels, and I have made new friends that are quite frankly priceless. This mastermind taught me to trust my higher self, even if on paper it seems crazy, to believe in the impossible and that magic is all around us. I have had so many incredible experiences it is impossible to put into words. Today’s episode has been a hard one to record, but after much consideration and clear guidance from my higher self that this is the right thing to do I have decided to reduce my podcasting frequency from weekly to monthly. There are a total of 122 episodes! Did you know that statistically, most podcasts don’t get past 3 episodes? After 2 and half years and over 10K of downloads I am so proud of myself and very grateful to you all for tuning in each week. But yoga teaches us nothing is constant; everything is subject to change, and it is time for a change to my podcasting frequency. I am freeing up more time for me, more time for my family and more time for my paying clients. Energy is everything and energetically this feels right for us all. I will still be recording a weekly video/podcast covering all aspects of both business strategy and energy work as part of my Substack subscription. Like all women I have been programmed to believe wanting money is bad, it’s wrong to ask for money and find myself regularly over-delivering and under-charging. I have been working on my money mindset for a good 3 years, and I do know that money is a flow of energy, with practice and time you can open yourself up to receive more. With an abundance of time and money, you can direct this overflow to any causes that you feel passionately about, and this is way more powerful than under-charging on the grounds it makes you ‘affordable’. I truly believe the world will be a better place when more women are doing what lights them up, helping people and make money. It feels like my life mission right now. The yoga industry is a multi-billion-dollar industry, and wellness is a multi-trillion, with a predominately female workforce. Women are naturally drawn to caring professions and have a desire to use their gifts to heal and help. But why in such financially abundant industries should any female service-based entrepreneur struggle to create a financially sustainable way of working? Because we’re hard-wired to over-give, under-charge and feel generally bad when it comes to asking for money and charging appropriately. And I know you want to help people and in this, you want to be affordable. Well, affordability is relative and if you want to help people, create a business model where you have an abundance of time and money and my darling you can choose where to direct the excess energy of money and time that you have to whatever causes you feel passionate about. But please stop under-charging, please stop with the crazy payment methods and please start the work on your money mindset. It’s not easy, it’s ongoing work, but it is so needed in the world right now, but the truth is you are not meant to do this work alone, so make sure your name is on that waitlist! You have to attract your tribe, but as part of this you have to repel, and yes some people won’t feel energetically aligned with you, but that’s ok we don’t need lots of people to have a profitable, sustainable business, we just need our people. And then have to be able to find us and see who we are. So yes you do need to show your face!
