Episode 30: Back-to-School Balance: Routines for Busy Moms
Ah yes, September is almost here, a.k.a back-to-school season for our kiddos–no big deal, right, sis? Screams internally While it's obviously exciting for us busy moms to anticipate another year of learning and growth for our "tiny" humans, the looming reality of getting back to a structured routine after months of summer fun is–let's face it–scarier than realizing you've forgotten to do your skincare routine for a week. But does navigating this shift have to be that dreadful? Well, from my experience, not if you're able to cover a few critical bases. I'm talking setting SMART goals, mastering time blocking, and more game-changing strategies. So, if you've got a few minutes to spare, I invite you to tune into this episode as I dive into the juicy details! Catch the full episode below or on or ! This really helps you to stay focused and motivated, and also it increases your chances of achieving them." [12:12] "As a busy mom, we often put ourselves last on every single list, but really, prioritizing our self -care is crucial, A, for maintaining our energy, B, for maintaining our productivity, and C, for teaching our kids how to take care of themselves and building it into their day -to -day lives, so they're not putting themselves at the bottom of the totem pole.” [14:01] “[Time blocking] really helps you to dedicate specific time and focus to a specific group of tasks. Episode 29: Implementing the TIME Method for Busy Moms
Have you ever imagined what it’s like to juggle flaming torches while riding a unicycle on a tightrope? Yeah, that's pretty much what balancing business, mama duties, and self-care feels like most days, am I right? Talk about drowning in to-do lists, feeling guilty about screen time (yours and the kiddos), and wondering if "balance" is just a myth – all on a regular basis. I can still remember the amount of times I wanted to tear my hair out when I was caught in this struggle. Now that I’m able to navigate my way through it, I feel compelled to share my strategy with you. Enter the 'TIME Method' – and no, it's not about adding more hours to your day (though wouldn't that be nice?). It's about working smarter, not harder, across four key areas: Time, Intentional actions, Money, and Energy. Listen to the full episode below or on or to learn more! Listen out for: Time Management [2:28] Being Intentional [9:13] Money Management [12:23] Energy Management [15:35] Quotes "So, looking at your time, are you blocking off your workout times? Are you blocking off your being present time with your family? Are you blocking off your being present time with yourself?" [8:02] "When we're not choosing intention, when we're being reactive – which means we're reacting to everything happening to us – we are living in that reactive place versus the proactive place... ” [10:06] “[A] belief is just a story we've told ourselves. It doesn't have to be true. You can change a belief if that's what you feel like you need to do.” [15:21] “[Stress] is physical and mental drain to our energy, and it can lead to burnout when we aren't managing it properly. Episode 27: Time to Thrive: Bring More Spaciousness Back Into Your Life
Can I get a "hell yeah" if your daily hustle has you stretched thinner than flat tummy laxative tea? Juggling the never-ending demands of work and family can make true "me time" feel like an unattainable luxury. But here's the hard truth: Constantly putting your well-being on the back burner is a one-way ticket to your own personal burnout city. And trust me, you don't want those stamps in your passport! I get it. Self-care can easily fall to the bottom of the priority list when you're being pulled in a million directions. But making space to rejuvenate your cup is the key to showing up as your best self in business, as a parent, and in all areas of life. Because here's what happens when you don't: Anxiety, stress, and exhaustion on an endless loop. Feeling detached and resentful towards your biggest priorities, and making impulsive decisions you later regret – not exactly a recipe for thriving. I know because I've been there, running on fumes until my tank was totally drained. But once I finally prioritized my own needs through 3 game-changing self-care habits – which I'll be sharing with you in this episode – everything shifted! Listen to the full episode below or on or ! Listen out for: Embracing Unstructured Time [3:33] The Power of Saying No [8:22] Prioritizing Fun, Self-Rejuvenating Activities [11:30] Quotes "If you don't have any unstructured time in your day, you're not giving yourself the ability to process any of the thoughts or emotions that you have coming up. And then, eventually, it's going to get to nighttime, or it's going to bubble inside of you for so long that you're thinking, 'Oh my gosh, I'm going explode.'" [4:12] "Say 'no' more, and yes, it will suck in the beginning because you're going to feel like you are letting people down. But guess what? Every time you say 'yes' to somebody else, especially when you're stretching yourself too thin, you're saying 'no' to you, your health, your mindset, your family, and you're setting that example for the people who are watching you that it is okay to put yourself last – and you and I know that is not okay." [10:50] “I've been practicing [prioritizing fun time] more, getting with my girls, going on my girl's trips – I do that maybe three to four times a year. And guess what? Every time I get back, I miss my family more and more, and I'm excited to come back because my cup has been filled.” [12:37] Resources [Insert link to Brendon Burchard’s ‘Growth Day’] Bonus Learn more about me here Connect with me on my socials ✨Facebook - ✨Instagram - Like this episode? Episode 26: From FOMO to JOMO: Finding Fulfillment in Missing Out
Raise your hand if you've ever felt the fear of missing out (FOMO) creep in… You know that nagging voice that says you "should" be doing more, seeing more, and achieving more? That gnawing feeling that your life is somehow incomplete if you're not constantly chasing the next hot thing? As an ambitious woman juggling it all, FOMO can hit hard. You see those "perfect" stories on social media and start doubting your own path. Before you know it, you’re saying "YES" to everything out of desperation not to miss a single opportunity. As someone who used to be plagued with FOMO, let me tell you… That frantic hustle is actually holding you back from true fulfillment. Running yourself ragged to “keep up” only breeds burnout, resentment, and feeling disconnected from your own desires. The good news? I was blessed to learn how to transform such fear into joy – and I’ll walk you through it today! Listen to the full episode below or on or ! Your life is about embracing your choices, finding satisfaction in living a life that feels good to you, and finding joy in your current life, because as far as we all know, we only get one of them.” [10:13] “[The joy of missing out] is about giving myself permission to push off the pressure of having to have that constant busyness – the relentless need for constant connectivity, the perpetual questions of what others are doing, where they're headed, where I should be, and who I should be with. And it's about celebrating my decision to skip a party or even a family event if needed.” [13:18] Resources [Insert book that Shay mentioned in the episode about JOMO] Bonus Learn more about me here Connect with me on my socials ✨Facebook - ✨Instagram - Like this episode? Ep. 25 - How To Take Care Of Yourself When Life Gets Busy
Sometimes life can be REALLY busy. It feels like we are always on the go. Like there is never enough time. That you always have SOMETHING to do. I feel this in my bones. There are always deadlines, responsibilities and things that fall through the cracks that you need to go fishing for. Between my family, kid’s schedules, travel, work and trying to get in some “me” time - it feels like there’s hardly a moment to catch my breath. Even just typing this up, I feel stress in my core around this. I used to feel like there was just never enough time. Never enough moments… never enough. But the thing is, there is. And that “moment” is called self-care. And no, I'm not talking about indulgent spa days or extravagant vacations (though if you can swing it, why not?!). It's more about the small, consistent habits that, even in the midst of chaos, help you to be at your best—inside and out. Today, I’ll walk you through those habits that get you to take time for yourself even when you’re in the busiest seasons of your life. Listen to the full episode below or on or ! Listen out for: A Look Into A Very Busy Season In My Life [0:21] Giving Yourself Grace + Having A Plan In Place [3:24] Exploring Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) Tapping [6:05] Trying Out Somatic Exercises [8:38] Quotes “When life is this way and you’re kind of in this limbo area, and you’re trying to do more while also doing less, while also wanting to remember that you're human, and that you also need to take care of yourself… give yourself grace, but also put a plan in place.” [3:24] “(On the importance of planning) The biggest thing that I noticed with myself over this last few months is that I did not have a plan in place for those weeks where I end up with 32 calls. And so then by Friday, I am completely tapped out, completely wiped, and have nothing left to give other people” [4:00] “Maybe this [episode] is giving you ideas of hey, I've not been myself, so what can I do to get back to me? Maybe it's exercise. Maybe it's EFT. Maybe it's breathwork. Maybe it's just going for a walk outside and getting some vitamin D and fresh air on your face. Maybe it's just you recognizing that you aren't where you want to be and you can do things differently.” [11:57] Resources Bonus Learn more about me here Connect with me on my socials ✨Facebook - ✨Instagram - Like this episode? Ep. 24 - Give Yourself Permission To Do You
Think back to when you were little and needed your parent’s permission for everything. Maybe you felt frustrated, or even rebellious, at the thought of having to keep asking for permission. Maybe it turned you into thinking that you need to get permission in other areas of life now that you’re an adult? And now the irony sets in. Because now, you STILL find yourself seeking permission more than ever! And it’s not just from your parents, or about the little things. From the way that you act to how you feel, it’s as if you need permission from others first before taking any step forward. I know this, because this used to be me. As a recovering permission-seeker (aka people pleaser) myself, this topic hits close to home. But I’m opening up because I know that my journey can inspire others too. Allowing yourself to be you without worrying about what other people think or say is such a freeing experience, and I can’t wait for you to feel the same! Ready to give yourself permission to do you? Listen to the full episode below or on or ! Listen out for: Being Authentic Around Others [1:24] Getting 1% Better At Being You [3:33] The Importance Of Showing Up As Yourself [6:09] Quotes “You get to make these choices and you get to do things differently. You get to give yourself permission to show up how you want to show up.” [1:13] “So this is something I want you to think about: Where are you changing who you are? Where are you pushing yourself back in and not allowing yourself to show up as you? Just do 1%.. Take the time to do that 1% better each day and see where you are in a week, in a month, in three months. Notice the difference within you and your confidence in yourself with owning and doing what you say you're going to do.” [3:49] “[Giving permission to do you] is to do life in a way that works for you. Ep. 23 - Breaking Free: Conquering 3 Sneaky Beliefs Holding You Back
Let's get real for a sec: how's your faith in yourself holding up on this wild ride we call life? It's a biggie because, honestly, confidence is like the secret sauce powering everything you want to achieve. But let's be honest—life loves throwing curveballs, and when things get tough, it's easy to start doubting yourself. Before you know it, you're tangled up in false beliefs that hold you back. I've been there, done that, got the T-shirt. And let me tell you, there are three sneaky beliefs that can seriously mess with your mojo. In this episode, I'm spilling the tea on each one, sharing my own battles, and throwing in some affirmations to help you kick those beliefs to the curb. Listen to the full episode below or on or ! Listen out for: Belief #1: “I’m Not Good Enough” [1:18] Belief #2: “I’m Scared of Risks” [6:40] Belief #3: “I Don’t Deserve Success” [10:49] Quotes “If you don't get that job opportunity, if you don't get that client, if somebody says no to you, do not ever feel like you’re not good enough. And if there is some fear or feeling of “I'm not good enough”, find it in yourself to get proof that you are good enough.” [5:09] “In order for us to gain new experiences, and push ourselves to grow personally, professionally, career-wise, and health-wise, we need to take a few more risks. We need to allow ourselves to maybe take that baby step outside of our comfort zone to allow ourselves to see things differently.” [7:06] “To say ‘I don't deserve success’ is to say you don't deserve success. It's to say my children don't deserve success. It's to say my best friend doesn't deserve success. And guess what? That's just not true.” [11:59] Bonus Learn more about me here Connect with me on my socials ✨Facebook - ✨Instagram - Like this episode? Ep. 22 - A Beginner's Guide To Setting & Achieving Your Goals
Sayonara, 2023! What's up, 2024? We've got a fresh year on our hands (woo-hoo!), and while it's meant to be this kick-butt new beginning, let's be real—it's not always smooth sailing for everyone. Why? Well, not everyone's got their resolutions all figured out on day 1. And that’s A-OK. You should ease into the year and give yourself some grace. It’s not always about charging full speed ahead. Some of us are just trying to figure out how to navigate this whole process without feeling like we're in a maze. Or… like me, trying to make sure I get the kids to each activity while keep my head above the water (or snow, here in Wisconsin). And hey, if you're feeling a bit stuck in this crazy journey, guess what? You're in good company, and that's totally cool! The thing is giving it your all isn't always enough when it comes to reaching your goals. First things first, you've got to be on the same wavelength as your dreams and desires. I get it. I had my own struggles kicking off last year. But guess what? I found some gentle strategies that will help you turn the page and move closer to knowing what you want to get done and setting yourself up for success with it. And I'm dishing them out in this episode. Trust me, you won't want to miss out on this—let's spill the beans together! Listen to the full episode below or on or ! I'm good.’ And your brain is going to be like, ‘Yeah, you don't need to do this because we like it where you are right now even if you don't like it where you are––this is where you're safe and this is where we think you need to be.’ When that day comes, recognize that you are essentially having an internal battle with yourself and you will have to push yourself out of that comfort safety zone in order to get to the next level.” [4:48] “The reason why you should examine your desires first is because our goals tend to be set externally –– we're not setting them based on what we really think that we want.” [6:41] “Start with one goal and build it into one routine –– one habit stack. For example, I make lunch every single day. In alignment with my health goal, I've incorporated the habit of making a protein shake to accompany my lunch to ensure that I get enough protein each and every day –– that is a habit stack.” [12:42] Bonus Learn more about me here Connect with me on my socials ✨Facebook - ✨Instagram - Like this episode? Ep. 21 - How To Have A Growth Mindset For The Busy Mom
Life can sometimes feel like a rollercoaster, right? Juggling the chaos of daily life, parenting, working, and, oh, throw in a pinch of other ventures like... running a business! (Cue the internal scream – YIKES!!) I don’t claim for this to be easy but I do want us to see things differently. And I’m sharing a lot of my mindset and thought process around what I had to do in order to change my mindset fairly quickly. I felt I could either stick to being reactive and stick to the mundane routine. It almost felt robotic… but it also felt lonely. So I’m sharing what I did to get proactive and use a different approach. I’m not saying it is easy, but the night and day difference I’ve seen in me has made me a true believer. I promise you’re in for a treat with this special bite-sized episode! Tune in as I take a deep dive into what a growth mindset is and how it shapes our personal and relational growth amidst these challenges. Listen to the full episode below or on or ! Listen out for: Understanding a Growth Mindset [2:31] Overcoming Challenges with Positivity [4:31] Growth Mindset in Goal-Setting [6:43] Quotes “A growth mindset is when you approach any situation, entering various aspects of your life––even those that might initially frazzle you. And rather than coming in with a fixed mindset, which insists that everything remains the same, a growth mindset is all about asking, 'How can I see things differently? Where is the opportunity in this? How can I change my perspective to view it differently?” [2:37] “There's no way you're going to be super positive and radiating love in the highest light at all times, and that's okay. However, when you encounter challenges or face difficult moments, it's perfectly fine to take the time to reframe them as opportunities.” [4:48] “I encourage you to set ambitious goals, aiming for those that are challenging yet attainable with dedicated effort. This approach not only provides you with an advantageous edge but also ensures quick wins, propelling you towards more ambitious objectives. By achieving these goals, you honor yourself, your word, and your commitments, embracing a growth mindset throughout the journey.” [6:49] Bonus Learn more about me here Connect with me on my socials ✨Facebook - ✨Instagram - Dive into a world where a good life and merry festivities come together Like this episode? Ep. 20 - Unwrapping Productivity & Giving Yourself Grace This Holiday Season
'Tis the season to be... with family, making all the food, taking kids to all their activities and forgetting to take care of you! Eeekkkk! That doesn’t sound fun at all. Isn’t the holiday season meant to be holly and jolly and not stressed and feeling like life is a mess? I know, I’ve been there. And let’s be real… life is a mess in general. Let’s talk more about how we can embrace the mess while being more present with our family. And being more present with ourselves. For many people, gearing up for the holidays is an easy process. But for those of us who feel like we’re managing all the things, you're likely no stranger to feeling all over the place at this time of the year. Sure, we all want to make magical memories for our loved ones––that's a given. But is the holiday hustle really worth sacrificing your peace and productivity? If your answer is NO, then you're in for a treat with this special episode! Join me as I peel back the curtain on my holiday preparations and drop some practical tips on how to gracefully navigate the holiday whirlwind without losing sight of YOU! Listen to the full episode below or on or ! Listen out for: Setting Expectations [2:11] How to Stay Productive & Present [6:32] Self-Care Tips [12:03] & Much More! Quotes “Don't create this fake truth inside your head, forcing yourself to do it all because you think that's what's expected of you. The only expectations you should have are the expectations you're giving yourself. And if you feel like other people have expectations of you that are unrealistic, unfair, or whatever your thoughts are around it, explain that this is a season in your life where you get to decide how you want it to be because this is your life." [5:34] “It isn't even about doing all the things. It isn't about having all this extra stuff going. it really is about the time and the presence of you and the people you want to be with. So really think about how you can do that and how you can be more productive without having all of this extra white noise in the space.” [6:49] “Beyond the busy schedule, and the 'I-have-tos,' I want you to embrace the imperfection and also find joy in the little moments. In our own backyard, we've observed more deer passing through, and witnessing my husband's excitement brings me genuine joy. It's akin to the delight of finding a present under the Christmas tree – it not only makes me laugh but also warms my heart. So, wherever you encounter these little moments of joy, take a moment to appreciate them, and remember to extend some appreciation to yourself as well.” [17:21] Bonus Learn more about me here Connect with me on my socials ✨Facebook - ✨Instagram - Dive into a world where a good life and merry festivities come together Like this episode? Ep. 19 - What To Do When Things Don't Feel Like They Are Going Your Way
If you’ve felt like this year has been one thing after another not going your way, you’re not alone. The feeling of not being able to catch a break is going around, I hear. And I’m going to share with you what I’m doing while I’m in the thick of it myself. Believe me, I know––I've been knee-deep in this chaos this year, to be honest. And I’m giving you a behind the scenes look at what I’m doing to reset and focus on how to manage myself and my nervous system. So, if you're in the same boat as I am, then this special bite-sized episode is for you! Listen in as I dive deeper into my experiences and share a thing or two about how you can better navigate and overcome this stress-fest. Listen to the full episode below or on or ! Listen out for: Giving Yourself a Break [0:24] Zeroing in on the Root Cause [7:08] Planning Accordingly [8:31] Staying Motivated [10:40] & Much More! Quotes “Whether it's a challenging work or family life, I ask myself, 'What is the root of the problem?' For instance, when our home is chaotic due to our kids' activities, I dedicate 30 minutes to decluttering while playing some music or playing a Christmas movie in the background. Similarly, when dealing with a client, I go back to the drawing board, considering new target audiences or budget adjustments. The key is to find the most efficient solution, following the path of least resistance, instead of struggling uphill, as we often tend to do.” [7:08] “In order to have discipline, you need to have a motive to do something. I want to get healthier, so in order for me to be disciplined in doing so, I need to have the motivation to stick to it. Thinking about this from that perspective, I get to say, 'Okay, it might not be easy at that moment, but the motive is to be a better example for my kids, create a positive impact on others, and experience myself.' I'm not perfect. I goof up all the time, but I do my best to use it as a learning experience.” [11:05] “There are times when it just feels like the world is caving in, and I go, 'Oh my gosh! How did today become today?' I'd scream into the pillow, play 90s rap music, and dance to it to help get some of that excess energy out... it's all about finding out what outlet works for you when things aren't necessarily going your way.” [12:31] Bonus Learn more about me here Connect with me on my socials ✨Facebook - ✨Instagram - Dive into a world where a good life and merry festivities come together Like this episode? Ep. 18 - How To Dive Deeper Into Who You Are With Megan Gibson
Our relationship with our own identity can be complicated. It's the very core of who we are, yet most of us draw a blank when trying to define it. I’m not talking about the “I’m a mom,” or “I’m a business owner.” It’s much deeper than that. It’s who we are at our core. And how do we get there? Whether you've been on the path of self-discovery for some time, or you're just beginning to wonder what makes you, you - know that it's not impossible nor too late to find your true self. This is a journey I’ve been on my whole adult life. But it’s an evolution and I’m grateful to be learning more about me. And I’m excited to bring this very special guest, Megan, on the podcast today. Sit back, relax, and get ready to get closer to who you really are with today’s episode featuring Identity & Alignment Coach, Megan Gibson. Listen to the full episode below or on or ! [13:59] Exploring Forgiveness & Vulnerability [18:00] How To Be More Focused On Your Identity [30:50] & Many More! Quotes “If we can’t answer that question of ‘who we are’ and ‘what's important to me’, how can we make decisions that are going to make us happy?” [2:17] “Most of us when we are asked ‘Who are you?’, most of us will answer with what we do. We will talk a lot about the external and a lot of us will try to answer that question by looking externally and trying to align with the things that we like, the things we want to be, or the things that people expect of us. To answer that question, we actually need to do the opposite. We need to go inward. We need to look at the things that make us who we are, the things that have shaped us, the experiences that we’ve had, the things we are good at. Those are the things that make us who we are — not the things we accumulate or the roles we play.” [4:15] “The reason it's so hard to answer the question “What do I really want?”, is because we really haven’t been focused on anything that has to do with ourselves for so long. Now there’s a void and it seems such a big thing to fill and such a big question to answer. But really, once you know who you are, once you know the things that are important to you, we can start to slowly take baby steps to create alignment with those things in our lives — and it doesn’t have to be a big question to answer.” [15:01] “What a good life looks to me is standing in your truth. Being able to ask for what you need and being free to express yourself in the most fullest, most silly, goofy way. Not having to pretend is what a good life is for me.” [34:32] Resources Mentioned 🔗 🔗 🔗 Bonus Learn more about Megan here Connect with Megan on socials ✨Facebook - ✨Instagram - ✨YouTube - Learn more about me here Connect with me on my socials ✨Facebook - ✨Instagram - Dive into a world where a good life and merry festivities come together Like this episode? Quotes “I tend to think of people as having universes inside them that we don’t know. Like we’re all walking all around, we're doing the thing, were the school mom, were the soccer mom, etc. We do the things we're supposed to do, but everyone's internal universe is just this unique and sparkling place and we need more of that out into the world.” [12:05] “You can write. Writing is just telling stories. If you get together with friends and you tell a story about what happened one day… all you need to do is just write that down. Writing these days is really about your voice - your authentic voice and how you express yourself. That's what makes a connection with the people.” [15:52] “Creativity for me, it’s very much an internal process. If you have an idea kicking around, then that idea is coming to you for a reason. You are the person who is chosen for that particular idea to come out to the world. And you might think, ‘Why me? I'm not that special.’. Well, yes. But this idea, said in your voice, in the way that you would do it, is gonna land differently with people if someone else did it.” [17:01] Resources Mentioned 🔗 🔗 Bonus Learn more about Tamara here 👉 Connect with Tamra on socials ✨Facebook - ✨Instagram - ✨Twitter - Learn more about me here 👉 Connect with me on my socials ✨Facebook - ✨Instagram - Dive into a world where a good life and merry festivities come together Like this episode? “You shouldn’t. You mustn't. You can’t” How many times have you held yourself back from doing something you badly want because others or a pesky inner critic tells you not to? If you're like me who's been wanting to lean into your intuition, claim your voice, and assert yourself more, this episode will be a game-changer! [5:59] The “Good Girl Syndrome” [9:20] Tips To Starting Having It All On Your Terms [16:28] & Many More! Quotes “Everybody calls me the Unicorn Coach. The reason for this is because I think we all have magic inside of us. I think we forget about that magic and we forget about that ‘unicorn horn’... You are not a horse! You are a unicorn and you have magic within yourself!” [2:48] “Don’t be afraid of being curious about your intuition; that is one of our superpowers as women. That intuition, that gut feeling, that sixth sense allows us to be very good at reading our environment, at reading danger, at reading behaviors, at reading energies in the room. Then we have two choices — we can let it be an accident or we can take over it and use it with purpose for our benefit.” [7:31] “The Good Girl Syndrome is a syndrome of how we have been raised, generation after generation, in a patriarchal world where we are [subjected to] the expectation of, ‘I need to be good. I need to be quiet. I need to behave. Nice girls don’t run and get dirty. Nice girls just stay pretty in their dresses, [etc.]’… Every time our phrases start with, ‘I shouldn’t. I can’t. I mustn't’, that is not your own voice. That is the external voice of The Good Girl Syndrome that is taking the power [to decide] from you. [9:20] “Understand that it’s time for you to stop being a ‘square watermelon’. In Japan they put cubes on top of the fields where the watermelons are growing. A beautiful round watermelon starts growing, but it starts growing in a box, so when it fully grows, it grows into the shape of a cube. I use that analogy because it is easy to remember. [Women] are being ‘square watermelons’ because we are working in a world designed for men, by men. Understand that there is nothing wrong with you, and that those [negative] voices are those ‘square watermelons’ trying to put you in a cube, when you are actually a freakin’ amazing, round, juicy watermelon. Embrace that power and energy.” [17:07] “Learn to challenge the Good Girl Syndrome: Why are you saying I should not do that? What is the reason behind that? Why do you think that is not a good idea? Because that little voice is good at telling us it’s not a good idea, but as soon as we challenge [we realize] that there is not a lot of support on why that is not a good idea.” [19:47] “Everytime we find ourselves thinking that we should wait or we shouldn’t do it now because it’s not perfect… stop, laugh, and say, ‘I am not pregnant. This is not my baby, this is not my son. It is not okay to go to labor at 20 weeks, but it is okay to go to labor with this idea even if it is not completely done.’ It will give you the giggles, but it will start rewiring the brain pathways into, ‘It is okay to apply with fifty percent and figure out the other fifty. It is okay. It is not going to be dangerous.” [26:22] “You can have it all, without doing it all. It’s been centuries of us compromising, sacrificing, choosing, living our life not at the maximum potential, and allowing society and others to control us. It's time for us to take our space, to claim our power back, and say, ‘You’re saying I cannot have it all? That’s a garbage rule! I’m going to throw it away! Because I can have it all, and I can have it all without doing it all.’… I can enjoy the family that I want, with the perfect partner that loves me and respects me, and have a career that makes me feel amazing and brings enough abundance for my family and for me to help others, and to have the health that I want to have energy and feel confident in my body — and it doesn’t have to be painful, it doesn’t have to be hard.” [28:13] Resources Mentioned 🔗 🔗 Bonus Learn more about Jo here Connect with Jo on socials ✨Facebook - ✨Instagram - ✨LinkedIn - ✨YouTube - Learn more about me here Connect with me on my socials ✨Facebook - ✨Instagram - Dive into a world where a good life and merry festivities come together Like this episode? Ep. 15 - A Few Good Tips To Real Productivity with Julie Lowe
Productivity – should sound simple, right? Meh. Often, I've found myself hustling away, thinking I'm making magic, only to discover I've been caught up in the busyness trap, doing the hokey pokey with tasks that don’t really move my goals or life forward. Part of the problem is we’re bombarded with lofty advice from experts who tell you to do this or try that and you’ll magically be the most productive bean on earth. Truthfully, I don’t find that advice helpful at all! Additionally, we all are so stinkin’ busy and we’re unsure what will help us to take the next LOGICAL step. And here’s where things get juicy. My dear, sweet, and absolutely brilliant bestie, Julie Lowe, is stepping in. With her Certified High Performance Coach cape on, she’s about to serve up some no-nonsense, practical wisdom. Join us for a fun, raw and honest chat as Julie spills the beans on real-deal productivity in today's episode. Tune in! [4:10] Let’s Talk A Few Good Habits [6:03] Why Motivation Doesn’t Always Work [13:46] Getting Productive + Moving Forward With Intention [18:04] And Many More! Quotes “In the past when I'd heard of high performance, I thought like ‘Oh, that sounds just like productivity’, but it's really about how you can be successful at what you do and accomplish things, but do it without sacrificing your family life, your personal life, without putting your health at risk… It's about how you can have that balance, be super successful, and maintain your health and relationships at the same time.” [1:55] “It shouldn’t be that hard to figure out how do I reduce stress, how do I succeed at my career, and how do I really take care of myself, mind, and body. My book is a culmination of everything I learned; what I’ve learned that did work and what I’ve learned that did work. I just want to make it super simple, really straightforward, in a guide where it’s clear what to do. Because that’s the other thing about a lot of habit books — it’s real vague. It’ll give you some tips and tricks on how to implement habits but they don't necessarily tell you which habits to focus on, and I think that's where a lot of us get stuck and don't make progress. Because we learn the tips and tricks, but we don’t know where to start.” [7:53] “If you have a clear plan and really show up with intention, I think you’re always going to get better results. We stay busy with ‘busy work’ and things that are not really moving us forward, so bring that intention to your planning for your business or your career. Bring it to your house, but also bring it to your relationships.” [20:19] Resources Mentioned 🔗 🔗 Bonus Connect with Julie Lowe here ✨Facebook - ✨Instagram - ✨LinkedIn - Learn more about me here Connect with me on my socials ✨Facebook - ✨Instagram - Dive into a world where a good life and merry festivities come together Like this episode? Quotes “Instead of looking at planning, reflecting, and realigning as a chore, let’s think about it as a tool. As something that can help you create a life and a business you’re aligned with. A life and a business that you love waking up to.” [4:50] “I also want us to change our thinking around the expectations of what our life and business should look like. You get to create a life and business for you, versus doing what you think you should be doing because somebody else told you you had to do it. We all get one life to live, and you don’t want to live it for other people.” [5:33] “Self-forgiveness is one of the most freeing powers for you to scale your manifesting, for you to scale your life and your business. Because when you take that time to say, ‘Hey, I am going to write down this forgiveness around what I want to forgive myself for.’, it creates this healing and this acceptance of you to yourself, especially when it does not feel like you should have that.” [8:49] “Review the last three months. What worked? What went really well for you? Write that down… Next I want you to think about what didn't go well and also do the same thing. Write that down… After you do this, you’ll [be able to] give yourself permission to release what did not work. And if you saw what really went well and you really love, [this exercise will] actually be going to allow more of that to come into your life.” [10:03] “How can you get super specific and measurable with your goals? Get really specific with what you want your goals to be so you can reverse engineer and really lay [your plan] out. Determine when you should be measuring where you should be at with your goals as well.” [17:00] Resources Mentioned 🔗 🔗 🔗 Bonus Learn more about me here Connect with me on my socials ✨Facebook - ✨Instagram - Dive into a world where a good life and merry festivities come together Like this episode? Quotes “I feel like Human Design is something that if it's meant for you, it will find you.” [5:00] “The awareness [of Human Design] helps you to just respect the person and the way they move through the world and to let that be the perfect way for them even though it doesn’t make sense to you. In a lot of things in human design that aren’t in your chart, they just don’t make sense to you. You don’t feel that in your body in the way they do. So it's more like, ‘I can love you just like you are, but I still don't understand it. And I can respect that you need to make your decisions in the way you do, and I make them in a way I do, and we can figure out a way to meet in the middle.’” [12:12] “Once you hit about age 50, your Chrion returns, and it’s like you become this known expert. So I’m seeing my life right now as this big experiment. I’m learning all these things and I don’t have to figure out anything or decide anything [right now]. It’s all to guide me towards this place where I become this wise person that people really respect. I’m just allowing — I’m allowing all things at this point” [25:40] “[When you study Human Design] you’re going to learn your type and understand the energetics of that and the aura of the type. With the Generator it’s like a magnetic aura so the more you are your true self the more magnetic you become to others. Whereas the Manifestor actually has a repellent aura. I have a lot of manifestors in my family and it’s like they’re here to tell us the raw news and a lot of people don't like that because it's the truth. It’s kind of like the Reflector, but it's much more like rocking the boat and waking you up. And then Projectors are actually here to be our new leaders and it's a new type of leader that we’ve never experienced before.” [30:40] Resources Mentioned 🔗 🔗 Bonus Learn more about Missy here Connect with Missy on her socials ✨Facebook - ✨Instagram - Learn more about me here Connect with me on my socials ✨Facebook - ✨Instagram - Dive into a world where a good life and merry festivities come together Like this episode? Ep. 12 - Create Laughable Habits with Michelle Bazinet

Ep. 12 - Create Laughable Habits with Michelle Bazinet
There comes a point where we recognize that we all want to change a specific habit that we have. Whether that’s producing more in our business, losing weight, or whatever goal you’ve set for yourself. We all want to do something different. And honestly, our first instinct is to go ALL in. But as many of us have discovered, this approach can be too overwhelming to maintain. Habit and Confidence Coach Michelle Bazinet joins us in today’s episode to introduce an alternative strategy — taking unrealistic expectations around our goals and learning how to create Laughable Habits. And we are going to talk about how we can build new habits into our daily routines without having to give up HOURS of our day. I’m so excited to have you listen to this podcast. We had so many great conversations around this! You can listen below or on or . Listen out for: Get To Know Habit And Confidence Coach Michelle Bazinet [0:21] Why Focus On Habits And Confidence? [7:30] Fun Fact Time! [11:28] Laughable Habits, Explained [19:29] What Do Laughable Habits Look Like? [22:28] & Many More! Quotes “I call it a laughable habit — creating habits that are so ridiculously simple that they make you laugh. Like I want someone to hear me speak and laugh and say, ‘You’re ridiculous, Michelle, thinking that doing just that is going to help me achieve my goal.’. Because what happens is, we live in this world where we want things to change fast. We want to build that business fast. We want to lose weight fast. We want to have all the habits fast. But change happens in small increments. There are some people who could suddenly flip the switch and they can be all-in and make the change. I think for the majority for us, it’s creating small bits of change." [21:21] “I did a workshop last Wednesday, we were talking about Laughable Habits. One of my coaching clients was there and she was talking about the thing that I taught her, which was just getting up five minutes earlier. And the woman sitting next to her, she’s like, ‘Oh my god, my coach has been telling me to get up thirty minutes early, and I can’t do that.’. So what does she do? She does nothing. She makes no change. Because she thought it had to be thirty, not recognizing that it could be five. It could be two. It could be one minute earlier than normal. And if that alarm goes off a minute, two, or five earlier and you actually get up, what happens? You start to feel good about doing what you said you would. And when something feels good, I believe we want to chase the feeling even more. So the next day, you’re going to do that five minutes again, and then you get to a place where the 5 five minutes feel easy. So then you bring those laughable habits up to the next notch. Maybe you add another minute, maybe it's two, maybe it's five — you get to decide.” [22:31] “When it comes to any kind of result that you want, I want people to think about what kind of stories they are telling themselves on what they think they need to do? What kind of timeline were they giving themselves, and then just step back and be really honest, like is that timeline realistic? What if you can 4x that timeline? 2x it? And just commit to doing and creating laughable habits in your day that can grow over time. You can get the work done.” [26:18] “I really want people to build belief in themselves that they can begin to create actions. And that the small actions, even though they will take longer to create results, you are setting yourself up for success because you’ll have a better chance of getting those results. Because the big action and the short time frame that you really want… that gets you nowhere. I just want to lift everyone’s burden off their shoulders. The busy parents out there. The moms, who are running around, crazy, working, and taking kids to activities, and trying to clean a house, and do the meals, and all of those things… just ask yourself, ‘What’s one simple thing I can do today?’, and then build upon that. It’s a muscle that you grow.” [36:06] Resources Mentioned 🔗 Course - Losing More Than Pounds: Shedding The Weight Of Weight Loss (Starts this September! I killed it at football today.” And I was like, ‘Let me write that down quick.’ So I took my notebook out and I was like, I’m ‘Her’. It’s not ‘It Girl’ or ‘That Girl’. I’m ‘Her’. I am going to be the person I am going to be creating over this next 90 day journey and I get to share that with you.” [1:08] “I want you to take time to start the “Future You Writing”. You can start by saying I am someone who is kind to everyone. I am someone who could see the good. I am someone who stands up for me. I am someone who fits in with myself.” [12:05] “You will do incredible things when you take the time to script what you want your life to look like. And then as you start to do that, you’re going to start to put into place the habits and you’re going to see yourself in a different light. Having walked the same path and emerged with greater resilience, Certified Oola Life Coach Dr. Melissa Oden is thrilled to walk through some of the steps you can take to reduce those stressors and regain control of your days. Quotes “I’ve been living in this world where I help women with stress, because stress is the number one killer of women. It actually is the number one contributor to heart disease, which is the number one killer of women. so it's all circuitous. It's all intertwined.” [5:06] “They’re connected (mindset and physical performance). You can’t separate that. So in your business in your life if this isn’t right up here, nothing is going to go right.” [18:59] “I’m in a season right now where I’ve got some very serious challenges that I’m trying to navigate through just like everybody else… What I know is that I’ve been through enough in my 53 years on this earth that I know that this is just a season. As hard as it is, it’s just a season. So if you can fix this (mindset), if you can stay in a place where sometimes all you can say is, ‘Do I have everything I need for this breath right here?’, because you know what? We’re only guaranteed this breath right here.” [19:40] “Another thing that I’ve learned in this season that has helped my stress level is that, it’s okay to slow down. I have been made to slow down because of the things that have been going on last year. Like I literally had to stop in my tracks and go, okay, I just need to sit down for a minute.” [21:11] “The healing is really important and it’s important to get you balanced. That’s part of the balancing act, is getting that healing done. And what I’ve come to know is that healing is not as scary as people make it out to be. It’s really not. It is if you’re doing it by yourself, but the thing is you can’t do deep healing you need to do by yourself. We we’re not created to live alone. We were created to be a community.” [25:15] Resources Mentioned 🔗 (Use code BACKTOSCHOOL23 to get 50% OFF. Ep. 9 - Why Weight Loss Can Decrease After You Turn 30 & What You Can Do About It
Your 30s are a magical time when you’re old enough to know what you want in life but still young enough to chase after it. I’m 38 and I feel like I’ve come more into me, than I’ve ever been. It is such a different and amazing time. It’s also a time when your metabolism takes a new turn and weight loss can become a bit more challenging than normal. We are talking about this exact topic today and how you can get your health back! Joining us for today’s episode is Personal Trainer & Health Coach Michele Riechmen and she will break down the key lifestyle changes you can adopt right now to optimize your metabolism and thrive with a healthy body at 30 — and beyond. Listen out for: Get To Know Michele & Her Journey To Becoming A Personal Trainer & Health Coach [0:31] Why Weight Loss Takes A New Turn After 30 [3:07] The Cortisol Connection [4:39] Strategies For Optimizing Your Metabolism [8:34] Tips For Managing “Hunger Hormones” [17:51] What It Actually Means To Listen To Your Body [23:01] & Many More! Quotes “Our hormones do start to change. Even in our 20’s some hormones start to drop and in our 30's and then even more in our 40’s and 50’s. But really what happens is that most of us change. We start to move less. We also tend to exercise less. And a lot of us also tend to eat the same or even more because our lives get more stressful. So there’s a lot of compounding factors, but really most of these are within our range of lifestyle changes that we can change.” [3:17] “Figure out how you can move more. Whether that’s you have an alarm that goes off and every hour you get up and walk for 5 minutes in your house to take a break. Or maybe going out for an intentional walk in the evening, maybe in the evening. Figure out how you can move your body more because that's what they meant to do. It also helps our body feel better.” [9:55] “Figure out how you can start getting some strength training a little bit every day, maybe a few times a week. Figure out how it can work in your schedule and how you stay consistent. Because when you start to build muscle mass your metabolism increases. So the more muscle you have the more calories you burn.” [10:53] “We want to make sure we’re shifting more towards whole foods, getting fiber, and getting enough protein. Protein will help stabilize our blood sugar instead of getting on that blood sugar roller coaster.” [13:30] Take a step-by-step approach. You don’t have to do all this at once. Think of that, what is that one thing you can start with these next couple of weeks to start to shift towards a healthier you. Because our health is a journey. You're not going to solve it in a month or two by using some fad diet. You really have to take a long-term approach here and be patient, and kind with yourself, but figure out a way to keep adjusting along the way so can you keep moving forward.[14:04] “Really take the time to notice how your body’s feeling. A lot of people when they start moving, exercising, eating a little better, they just feel better. And it's like a general word, but I hear it all the time. I just feel better. And you probably do. Tune into what that ‘feel better’ means. Write it, say it, share it. Keep noticing each week, because that's what's going to keep you motivated to keep moving forward.” 23:35 Resources Mentioned 🔗 🔗 🔗 Bonus Learn more about Michele here Connect with Michele on her socials ✨Facebook - ✨Instagram - ✨LinkedIn - ✨Youtube - ✨Pinterest - Learn more about me here Connect with me on my socials ✨Facebook - ✨Instagram - Dive into a world where a good life and merry festivities come together Like this episode? Life can be full of distractions. Big or small, they all add up and make it tough to get things done. The good news is you have the power to change that. Quotes “Our brains are made to be scanners, as opposed to men [who] find it easier to focus on one thing. Think way back to caveman times. You had four, five, kids running around and you had to know where all of them were. So our brains just naturally scan… These are things that have served us very well. But in this digital environment that we're living in, this exploits the strengths that we have.” [6:21] “There’s so many things that are going to interrupt us that the things we can control we need to put boundaries in place.” [25:59] “How you start your morning with what you eat and drink sets the tone for the whole day. It's the same regarding your productivity. When you start your day and you're on your phone, you’re letting other people’s agenda set your agenda for your day. And it's hard to fully recover from that… As opposed to starting your morning on your priorities and then after you get your most important things done, then you tune in to what else is coming at you.” [35:15] “I used to think of boundaries with such a negative connotation. Now that I’ve gotten older and I’ve started putting boundaries in place. For me the boundaries and structure has created more freedom for me and I didn’t see that before. And it is so magical and incredible.” [41:17] “We lose hours, and I mean hours of a day to digital distractions if we’re not consciously putting in place boundaries. I don’t know about you — but I don’t have hours a day to give up to that kind of stuff.” [46:07] Resources Mentioned 🔗 🔗 Bonus Learn more about NJ here Connect with NJ on her socials ✨Facebook - ✨Linkedin - Learn more about me here Connect with me on my socials ✨Facebook - ✨Instagram - Dive into a world where a good life and merry festivities come together Like this episode? Ep. 6 - Is It Time For A New You?
Our identity is not static. It's ever-growing, ever-evolving. But there are moments that urge us to initiate this transformation instead of waiting for it to unfold. So, how do you recognize this turning point, and more importantly, how do you go about it? In this episode, I'll talk about the concept of identity and explore the cues that indicate the need for a change. I'll also equip you with actionable tips on how to start setting a new identity for yourself and guide you through the process of becoming the person you want to be. Let's go! Quotes “You are born. You get to learn from people who have raised you. And then you come up with the beliefs, most likely from the people who have raised you. Then you create your own beliefs from them… But you don’t have to take their beliefs as your own. You don’t have to even keep the beliefs that you have now as your own. You can say ‘Oh, that doesn’t serve me anymore. I can change it.’” [1:05] “The people who have gone to college, they have their, ‘I am a lawyer’ ‘I am a doctor’ ‘I am this’, ‘I am that’... The people whose identity has always wanted to be a mother [say], ‘I am a mother’... Business owners [say], “I am a business owner’, ‘I own my own business’. So really, I want you to start playing when people ask, ‘Hi! How are you? What do you do? Who are you?’ like what is the first thing you tend to tell people who you are?” [7:17] “You cannot move yourself forward until you are honest with yourself.” [16:40] “Give yourself patience and self-compassion. You are essentially trying to change a piece of your core that you have been for potentially years or your whole life. It’s not going to go right for the first time. It’s not going to be perfect. And that’s a-okay.” [22:19] Resources Mentioned 🔗 Bonus Learn more about me here Connect with me on my socials ✨Facebook - ✨Instagram - Dive into a world where a good life and merry festivities come together Like this episode? [18:36] & more! Quotes "One of the biggest 'aha' moments I had with my own thoughts is that I am not my thoughts." [4:30] “We are so not present in our lives. We are jumping from task to task, to-do to to-do. We’re doing more of the doing and less of the being.” [9:36] “Boundaries isn’t just [about] ‘I’m setting strict rules…’ It’s about what you tolerate. It’s about how you treat others. It’s about how you treat yourself. It’s about how you should be treated.” [11:29] “I noticed [that] when I am taking care of myself, that is the highest form of self-control.” [13:16] “Self-control is really about living according to our values and our principles… People who lack integrity actually lack self-control.” [15:08] “[On Learning & Self-Development] You get to start to think from a different place. Think from a place of, ‘Oh, I’ve learned this about myself. I’ve learned that I like this, or I don’t like this. I’ve learned that I can choose to be different or show up differently or act differently.’ And that helps you to become more in self-control.” [17:38] Resources Mentioned Bonus Learn more about me here Connect with me on my socials ✨Facebook - ✨Instagram - Dive into a world where a good life and merry festivities come together Like this episode?
