863 The Pain of Knowledge The pain of knowledge can be very stressful and real when you desire to impact your circle of influence, the world in which you touch. Now how can there be pain in knowledge? Desire to be supported and encourage by other like-minded women? You attend school, invest in conferences to dive deeper, and extend your foundation further by conducting self research or global examinations. At the point you are ready to put your knowledge into practice, what appears to be very logically turns into frustration and confusion. You know your stuff. But the "real life" factor takes its toll and presents with unexpected turbulence. What does this all really mean? It's the self thought of, "Why can't I get to where I know I'm supposed to be. I have the knowledge, the skills, but nothing is happening the way I imagined it." Your predicted timelines are impacted. Self doubt creeps in stronger than when you were learning and training. The fear of all the "what ifs" become greater than your dream. This is the pain of knowledge --- not understanding what's before you; hesitant of the next step and wondering if moving forward is worth it. Are your dreams worth the greater degree of unexpected pain? Well if I know you, you are shouting in your heart "YES!!! It is worth it!!!" And when the walls begin to close in around you --- darkness lingers. The hurt, frustration, and overwhelm becomes the heartbeat of the day. The only light that flickers is the brief reveal of sarcasm; the hope which keeps you snickering just a little bit. Life isn't fair. In fact, it can be really rough and tough. It's rough for our children. Times have changed. Family dynamics are different and present unique situations where we don't have the expertise. Otherwise, as you age, your flexibility will deteriorate and the simple, daily activities will become a chore. That's not something any of us want to accept. Let's expand on the purpose of flexibility. You can enhance your performance in resistance training and aerobic training. Science supports that injury decreases with flexibility training and allows for a greater ROM (range of motion). You also become more in tune with your body. Benefits of Flexibility Training: Reduces stress in your muscles worked during exercise. Releases the build-up of tension during exercise. Helps to improve posture. Reduces the risk of injury. Improves your overall strength as it increases your ROM. How often do you perform flexibility training? DAILY How long (the duration) do you need to practice flexibility? 5-10 minutes How hard is flexibility training? Will it hurt? Stretching should not be painful. You will experience discomfort or feel a little uncomfortable. But the tightness will release. If you feel pain, you should NOT be stretching! TYPES of STRETCHING: Static Stretching: specific to an area; hold the position for 20 seconds, rest 20 seconds, then repeat 2x. Dynamic Stretching: it's the full ROM of an area.It warms up the joints, maintains flexibility, and reduces muscle stress and tension. 848 When You Want To Give Up The biggest challenge when you want to give up is to keep going, moving forward, and taking action with each step. But it's more than easy to throw up your arms and say, "I give up. I'm not where I want to be. I've been at this how long? It's not worth it!" If you aren't experiencing the results you wanted within YOUR timeline, why keep pushing a rock up a hill? You just keep going backwards. "Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up." ~ Galatians 6:9 However, I want you to put a pause to all those negative talks that are so tempting to grab ahold of with greater hop than your dream. Your dream is null and void in your opinion. You're not getting anywhere, so why keep trying? Cause you're worth it? Well is that what you believe? Think about it. If you're ready to give up and throw in the towel --- Yes, essentially you are saying, "You're not worth it." (And it doesn't apply to changing directions or focus.) 843 Ready When It's Your Turn You are called to be ready when it's your turn. As bad as you want success, you may not get it when you want it. In going through life, completing the lists and fulfilling the necessary tasks, we want a reward. Desire to be supported and encourage by other like-minded women? (Philippians 2:13) You have to be ready when God sees fit to place you in the limelight. People see your character and who you are from the outside. God sees you, your character, from the inside. You can't expect to get everything you want on your own terms. You must be willing to be consistent, continually building your character. However, we get impatient. We want what we deserve now. Then, we get sassy with God. We have to continually strive for what God is creating in us. It takes work, but you are worth it! The K.I.S.S. ~ Ready Yourself! So when you get a little frustrated with the pace of your success, take a moment of reflection and make sure you are working on the areas God is instructing you to work on. 841 Step Out Into Faith Did you know you are called to step out in faith? And faith not given by your own doings. God sets boundaries to not only keep us safe, but to keep us focused and directed where He desires us to go. Desire to be supported and encourage by other like-minded women? When you step out in faith, it can bring about jolts of overwhelm and fear, because you may not know the reasoning behind His direction. As you learn and lean on God, that causes you to become more vulnerable with Him. You grow in your intimacy with God. Which in turn, increases the level of trust. It's a two-way street with God. 836 One Step Away How is your life project coming along? All the changes you want to make for your transformation. You're one step away! Right now, it may seem like an eternity until you will reach your goal. However, your goal is one step away. Desire to be supported and encourage by other like-minded women? And let's not forget the unexpected hot water explosion. Yikes! Recall how you felt as you were dreaming and planning the project. You were very excited, filled with anticipation of what the final transformation will look like. You want the HGTV reveal! Then the prepping comes into play. There's still a little excitement, but you're wanting to get to the work. Let's get dirty! Watch out! The project is underway. It goes well for a few hours or a few days, depending how much you're changing things. But wait! There's a hiccup. You need more paint. The order is delayed. There's always something!!
